I'm in North Dakota land of the way f****** cold and our concrete mixes vary kind of the same seasons like you guys have. So when I do my concrete I don't hire any one so I show up do the dirt we work, set forms, hand screed the sand fill & tamp it 3x, lay in the fiberglass rebar, then I use zip ties to tie the bar. This way there isn't any metal in the slab to have rust spots show up over time. Then pour & the concrete. But I always have fiberglass rebar in everything. I don't really use a lot of the fiber mesh, but I've been thinking about maybe using it more often I guess, you know just for hairline cracks. But yeah, i use water reducer & put it to sleep for about an hour too mostly because I'm a one man crew sometimes I'll have two extra guys with for done of the bigger jobs I get. In winter i also use a percent so i can speed it up a little bit if we need to. But yes that's probably about the same except our winters get a lot colder than just like freezing or a little bit below freezing. North Dakota winters get way below zero temps with wind chill real feel temps of -20's. For instance tonight we're looking at a windshield of -30° to -35° below 0°. But it always varies. We had three or four days where it was below zero temps non-stop all day long. I'm talking like -18° to -20° below without windshield that's just the actual temperature. The real feel is even colder than that.

for those of you considering to hire this crew, as a concrete man myself I'd recommend them, these guys are excellent! I've seen guys who couldn't handle smaller pads with bigger crews, these guys are pro's I can't give them enough praises. For those of you trying DIY projects at home this is definitely the channel to learn from!

No way. This guy is AWFUL. He adds A TON of water to his concrete. I wouldn’t hire this dude to finish a shed slab. No wonder he doesn’t get his work inspected. This guy wouldn’t have a job if he lived in my town. This little guy should be embarrassed for himself, posting this on the internet. Plenty of other people to learn from, NOT this guy.

@@cerrburus2495 I've been a finisher for 15 years and have worked on my father's side jobs since I was 11 years old, I see a professional here I see a crew that knows concrete and does the job well... You're entitled to your own opinion but it's wrong!

We used to use a lot of roll wire on just about everything we poured until these big wire mats became more available. How we always used bolt cutters we used to cut wire stirrup to hold our steel in our footings. So when we had a problem with the wire like that . Bolt cutters fix the problem and move on. You guys are top notch .

Here in Iowa it's just like you guys, so glad I made the decision to shut down from December to late March. All I did was break even at best with all the expenses of heaters and blankets. Along with guys being unmotivated to get out of trucks when it was zero out. 80 degrees here in Florida

What mix, psi, water reducer and slump would you recommend for mix for driveway extension in warm south Florida?.. planning on using wiring mesh and a power screed before bull floating/finishing. Also I’m gonna have to wheel barrel about 7 yards about 40 yards
