I'm from West Virginia and I'm here because of Daniel and Houston Arms . My Daddy noodled a Flathead catfish weighing 46 pounds in 1981 on the Elk River in Clay County, West Virginia 🦈. We had a fish fry with that fish. It fed 25 people! 🍽 😋

Jay, this will sound gross, but as a scuba diver I can tell you that if you are going to use a mask, you will need to Spit in it, wipe it around with your finger, then rinse once. That will keep your mask clear.

I really enjoyed this video. It took me back to my much younger days when we noodled the creeks for stranded fish around large rocks. They were going to die from lack of water very soon, and we simply made use of the meals they provided. We often pulled out snakes and threw them into the weeds that lined the banks of the dry stream. It was glorious fun. We often caught 40 or 50 fish and took them home to provide several meals for our poor family. I remember it like it was yesterday, and that was 70 years ago. I am sure you are proud of Jay, and the way she handled that 20 pounder. Your catching snakes doesn't bother me, as long as I don't have to do it. Not that I am afraid to do it, but I just don't know my snakes that well, and there are a few cottonmouths that live in Missouri. At 81 I am not doing much of any kind of fishing, let alone noodling or snake catching. I have nothing but the best of wishes and prayers going toward you and your wonderful family. Those babies are beautiful. I bet Jay is a wonderful mother. I don't wish to alarm, but I noticed that Jay's face seemed swollen. I pray that she is well.

Another great video!! You could start to see defeat in Jays eye's just before she caught the flathead! Great job Jay and Cole!! Cole make sure you get through rehab on that hand or arm before you do to much or you might have more problems later in life. I damaged my back about18 years ago and believe me it's been a life changing injury you don't want. You two are great keep up the videos!

This is a super catfish there !!! Thanks for showing us how much it weight!!! Loved the fish the panfish coming on up to the camera !!! That 1 panfish was looking into the camera & it was like what are you doing here haha giggle !!! I didn't like the snakes but that is me !!! Love the fish there & Daniel Arms channel to watch !!! Those flathead catfish will eat a bass quick like. There's one about that size tries to get my bass when I catch them. I fish the culvert that goes under the road and the backwater goes through there in high water

I was going to ask if you had a video on noodling but this pretty much answers that. Some of the first accounts of noodling include native Americans teaching this to the settlers in 1775, but it was in murky waters where you reach in a catfish hole hoping to feel the vibration of a sleeping early spring catfish. However things can wrong -- sometimes you reach in for a catfish when all of a sudden ouch-- that was a snapping turtle.
