I just rescued a bunny who was “Free” on Facebook. He was stuck in a small cage and when I messaged her she said if I didn’t take him that he was being released outside. I picked him up and he was outside in his cage in the rain with just an apple. Super underweight. I was originally going to foster and then I fell in love and I’m keeping him❤️

Shout out to this shelter for providing great support so fostering doesn’t feel overwhelming or unmanageable. And it’s true that every shelter is different. The rabbit rescue near me in North Carolina doesn’t even get back to you if your interested in volunteering, let alone fostering or trying to adopt. They barely got back when I made initial contact last year and subsequently never acknowledged that they received the 5 page application that I filled out, scanned and emailed promptly to the director even after numerous follow ups and inquiries on my part. Covid-19 aside, they were still operating and obviously needed to care for the rabbits in their charge. Because of this, I refuse to donate to them or make purchases for the online wish list. It’s really discouraging because from the little bit of contact I had with them, you can feel the bunny ‘gate keeping’ vibe. It’s troubling when you think about how many families and homes are being ignored in my area simply because of who’s at the helm. 😒

I really think getting another bunny when you’re bunny is starting to age is a really great thing! You’re helping the foundation but also saving your heart, coz when the time comes when Lenny isn’t around anymore and as sad as that will be, you will have the younger bunny to keep your spirits up and still have a responsibility to that pet! This is not only a wonderful thing you’re doing, but your decision to document the fostering process for your fans is very educational. People need to know that they can’t just throw two rabbits together immediately and let them work it out! Introduction of rabbits takes a considerable amount of time, patience and a whole lot of close supervision to ensure there is no fighting or bullying. The rescue rep was awesome to mention how rabbits can injure one another through the bars of the x-pens and how that must be addressed to keep both rabbits safe. Well done. I look forward to lots of video updates to further teach people how to properly and safely integrate two bunnies into one home!

I know she's territorial but fostering is a great way to "test the waters" so to speak and see if your bun gets along with another. Idk but I hope maybe you'll consider it at least in the future! Morpheus went from being an abandoned pet to an audience with Lennon the Bunny. That is one incredible turn of events for a Bun!!!! It’s like a human meeting their favorite celebrity. Morpheus appears adorable and loveable. It will be interesting to see if Lennon accepts him. We all remember the video where Lorelei paid the price for smelling like another rabbit!!!!! I hope he has the potential to be a forever-pal for Lennon. I love him just from watching this video.

I once found a bunny with my sister on the side of the road it was just a baby so small it could only be 3-6 months old with a broken leg, we kept him for the night and in the morning we found him a shelter to go to, but it broke my heart because it was right outside of a reptile store so it could've been used for food and it was so sad. I'm so glad we found it, when we brought it home we got it some spinach and it ate pretty soon so it must have been starving but he didn't drink, so I got a syringe and gave him water that way, I honestly don't know how he's doing but he was the sweetest and a beautiful bunny I hope he's doing well

We've been fostering since the summer bc we like bunnies but have never had any pets besides fish. It's been a great way to get familiar with bunny behavior. The rescue we partner with are also very supportive of us and provided a lot of things for the pen and are quick to answer our questions.

My lion lop girl started with just a few long hairs in between her ears. 2 years old now she has a full amazing hairdo. And it is insanely adorable. Awesome bunny just be careful I have two full time jobs now because I can’t stop bringing home homeless buns. Have 9 currently but trying to find the latest one a home so just foster daddy for now. He was almost cut in half from a snare wrapped around his belly since he was a tiny baby . He still has a ring around his body but the pain is gone I couldn’t imagine he was about 5 months old and it dug deeper and deeper as he grew. He’s a handsome white hair with grey nose and ears bunny. Very sweet too So sad how people dispose of rabbits so often to end up like this.

Thanks you can see some of my bunnies on my channel. I brought another one home named grumpy who had a broken jaw from being hit by a bicycle. I gave him a awesome loving last 6 months of life before having him put to sleep completely comfortable in my lap after determining all that could be done was remove his whole lower jaw. I fed him with a syringe and gave him painkillers daily because of the abscess he had due to his injury. He was so grateful and trusted me so much the minute I brought him home from the bike path he was dumped on. I was raging today watching the news they showed how many of the “covid pets” are being dumped on the streets and shelters because people are not in lockdown anymore. They showed a father getting rid of the 12 year old family dog because they were going on a much deserved extended vacation and couldn’t afford to board him while they were gone. The kids were crying and the dad just didn’t care. Rabbits were hurt from being tossed on the streets and now they are living in tiny stacked cages hoping they can be adopted again. I had someone wanting a white bunny today so I told him about the little guy who has the ring around his body from being caught in wire . He said he didn’t want one that was “broken” . I just told him to reevaluate why you even want an animal.

Problem is that it really isn't fair to introduce Lennon and let them bond and then take him away. The occasional sniff is fine but for everyone saying they want to see them both falling in love then it would only be ok if he was going to stay forever. (I actually hope this happens and it turns into a forever foster and successful bond ❤️❤️)

I'm pretty sure that Lennon would forget about the other bunny in the matter of a day. The people I despise are the ones who hoard animals, or they simply abandon them on the side of the road. My solution to this problem is to cull the human population and those that are guilty of minor infractions against bunnies would be a lifetime of servitude to our bunny master's.

I think that the work that Lorelei is doing and the extra effort and care she puts into her love for bunnies and the fact that she's making the rest of us aware of the struggles and pains bunnies suffer through every day is amazing. Omg I'm so happy to see a foster video! Foster parents are just as important as adopters because without them, the overcrowded shelters would have nowhere to send the extra buns. My family has a foster of our own (a lion head mix too!) who's an absolute sweetheart. She was rescued from a situation where there were 9 bunnies in one cage, and we believe she developed medical issues because of it. She is not adoptable unfortunately due to her medical issues so while the shelter pays for the medication and provides hay and pellets, we give her lots of love and attention (and yummy salads every evening)

I know it can be nerve wrecking when you first bring a new bun into your home, but remember to stay as relaxed as possible as there is many many different ways to keep both safe and they can learn to adjust. I wish you and the buns the best of luck. Obviously remember if you believe that after the week or so that you feel like Lennon seems too stressed about this, don’t feel pressured that you have to keep him, after all just like you can’t force humans to get along, bunnies are the same, so don’t feel too hurt or discouraged if this time it doesn’t work out as it can be still possible to find a friend for Lennon. But all that said I do wish you all the best of luck that it will work out for all three of ya’s . Sending all my love and support 💗💗💗💗

Lennon was being so good when she was first introduced to that bun! I have an extremely territorial lionhead bunny that I had for 5 years before I decided to try a second bun. My lionhead was instantly on attack mode and it took me 7 months to bond them. They've been living happily together for 5 years now, so it was worth it. Even the most stubborn of buns can fall in love with the right bunny!

I got a bunny a few days ago, and he is sooooo cute, I got him from a local shelter. He was a stray, born in the wild. He is roughly 1.5 years, and he is white and black with fly back fur. He is definitely a lionhead mix. They think maybe Californian spot and lionhead, or Polish lionhead. His name is Puff the Magic Rabbit or puff and he has two inch fur in front of his black ears. He HATES his pellets, but he is supposed to eat them, so I have to grind up dried strawberry and put a tiny pinch in the food so he will eat it. I love him and he has flopped in front of me. He eats a cup of veggies in the morning and 1/8 cup of pellets. In the evening he has 1 cup veggies. At night, he gets 1/8 cup more pellets. He is a HUGE chewer. I will give him a willow chew stick. 5 minutes later I see chips on the ground.

And I often watched your youtube videos to get more ideas!! I hope you find bunny fostering as rewarding as I did.
