Some of these comments are hilarious. Being a discerning Christian myself, I am smart enough to see this as entertainment while also remembering who Jesus was and is. I don’t think there is anything misleading in this series to the point of what you people are complaining about. Dallas himself has said read the Bible and discern the truth from it and nothing else. The loudest critics are those who have never watched. Anyone with a basic knowledge of the Gospels can see when they're portraying actual events, which they do a lot and do it beautifully, and when they're using artistic license to add to the characters and "plausible" events to the storyline. If anyone has a problem with that, they should rethink their pastor's sermons. Every pastor adds illustrations to scripture to make it more applicable and relatable.

The Chosen is indeed a blessing to humanity. I’ve been a Christian all my life. I’ve never seen the Word of God portrayed in a more beautiful and relatable way in film. In Jonathan Roumie’s portrayal of Jesus, he conveys Jesus’ divinity and humanity. Jesus’ teachings and indescribable love and mercy are always conveyed in The Chosen. All points back to the Father God. The Disciples are relatable- human, flawed, redeemed, and ultimately faithful to their Lord and Savior in word and deed, sacrifice everything of this world to follow Jesus. Dallas Jenkins has always made clear that he is presenting the Gospels, but this is a show. It’s not going to be a literal interpretation at every moment. The Chosen brings me closer to Jesus, and I’ve learned even more about the Bible now in studying scriptures that the Chosen has encouraged me to read again. The Chosen touches every human emotion through its representation of the life of Jesus! There’s no deception; those who say so are lacking discernment.

Yes, there are characters and events in this show that aren’t in the Bible. Dallas always says that people need to read the Bible to learn more. He says that this show is a story & there are things in the show that aren’t in the Bible. Amanda has worked to create Bible study guides to go along with the show. And most importantly, there are people who have been saved because they did seek Jesus, after watching this show.

Reading some of the comments and replies I find many people that are reading waaay too much into the Chosen story. They are forgetting that "artistic license" is merely a story telling technique to help the audience "see" a familiar subject in perhaps a clearer light. I wouldn't suggest clergy to preach from the Chosen, however it hurts no one to learn from a Christian perspective from the Chosen. This story line, to me, actually encourages those who know the scriptures to delve deeper and find the scriptures can come more alive. Those who aren't familiar with scripture are encouraged to start reading it. And that's a huge plus in any Christian's world! The part of Mother Mary has a much larger part in the Chosen, than it does in scripture, and that may seem to give it a more Catholisized bent. However does that make it wrong....who knows, only God. Look past your prejudices and just enjoy a wonderful stroy about the life of Jesus Christ. Then go read your Bible!❤😊

I have really enjoyed the Chosen. It is good entertainment, and I have enjoyed the way that they make Jesus personable, like his portrayal with the children, and they have followed the biblical gospels to SOME extent. The Chosen is MUCH better than his dad's series of Left Behind, because it really is a story about Jesus, and the bible, and many of the accounts are very close to scripture. I do remember being very afraid of the end times, and the rapture, and I think that was the downside to the Left Behind series, it really could have left you fighting about end times, and being fearful of Christ's return. Having said all of this, it is wise, to please read the bible for yourselves, it is a love story written from God himself, and it is the WAY to get to know the heart of God. This verse is a good place to start, because it was at the beginning of when Jesus started his own ministry on earth. Dallas, you say it is seeing the show through the eyes of those who knew Jesus, after mentioning the little James controversy. But yet there is zero record of Jesus refusing to heal anyone (in scripture) that came to Him and asked. This and the Ramah storyline show Jesus as just a man with compassion, not God Incarnate who looked on people with compassion and healed them, cast out demons and told people to repent and go and sin no more. Please PLEASE portray a Biblical Son of God! So many people watching truly need to know the real Christ Jesus before it is too late!
