With the help of the painless 30120 turn signal kit we are getting even closer to being street legal.
Note - I realize the lights are functioning different than stock. That's okay with me.

I really appreciate your videos. You are helping me a ton on my 78 280Z. Hopefully will look as good as yours in a few years.

I doubt the turn signal switch location nor the non amber turn signal lights would get a road worthy certificate here in Australia. Still loving this Zed! ❤️🏎

so all your bulbs turn on when you use either function ? thats normally not what you want i mean why use 3 bulbs when all do the same ? probably also the reason why your brake switch gets hot ...

The top half of the tail lights are the running lights snd brake lights. The bottom half is for the turn signals. Why wire them all together?
@StewartMotoring
@StewartMotoring 5 жыл бұрын
Braden Wuesthoff the kit is designed this way. The wire that provides turn signals is the same wire as the brake lights function.

Do you have a video on how you wired your heater??
@StewartMotoring
@StewartMotoring 3 жыл бұрын
Heater came wired with a switch. So all it needed was power/ground and then mount the dial on the panel

When you redid the vehicle and refinished it the tabs that hold down the wiring what did you use to coat them or did you just leave them bare metal? I was told I could use liquid tape after putting rust preventative spray paint on them? what did you do or do you have any thoughts?

Hector Romero I tore a lot of them out, but the ones I left, like the ones in the rear I left them alone. I left the oem rubber coating on them. If I had to recoat them, im sure there’s several things I could use.

Blinkers work with brakes applied? I don't see a follow up video for this harness.

@@StewartMotoring perfect that's the issue we are having now. Blinkers work until brakes apply. Ordered this harness last night, so we will see. Thank you

Did you ever find the solution to your running light problem?
@StewartMotoring
@StewartMotoring 3 жыл бұрын
Well I didn’t have a running light problem, this kit just didn’t come with running light wires. I have running lights now. It just took installing a on/off switch and running a power to each side marker, grill lights, and 1 bulb in the taillights.

@@StewartMotoring Awesome, I will be attempting to do the same in my 86 150. Thank you for the informative video. 👍

Electrical can be so intimidating but all it really takes is patience, as you've shown. After trying to figure out my '71 with the diagrams I found online (and failing) I tore everything out. Using a Painless harness like you did is a great way to get it all connected, but I was stubborn and did mine from scratch. One thing that made it easier was using brand new sockets and connectors to eliminate corrosion problems. Yeah, it took a lot of time but if you break it down into smaller pieces, like the brake lights, and then the turn signals, and so on, it starts to make sense. Congratulations on getting everything to work! Here's how I did mine and I hope it can help other Z owners: ace240z.com/electrical.html

Love your work but... Im not a lover of the side skirts (but it’s your car) and the turn signal operation switch is not really a natural action.

Sorry, but it have been much better if you kept the steering wheel switches or wired the switches into the steering wheel or a different switch. But cool anyways
@StewartMotoring
@StewartMotoring 5 жыл бұрын
Randy Robinson car didn’t come with any of that and whether the action is on the steering column or right there at the dash I’ll learn it and it’ll be second nature

Typically conductors get hot when the wire gauge is too small.
