I wonder if you can provide for me the information stats on what is better for interior walls, drywall or wood? Which do you think would give the best result given that you have done so much already to combat condensation within the container? I live in South Florida and I believe the climate here may be similar to yours. I'm also considering living in a container as well.

Great and very accurate work! But still, one simple question I want to address. Between your metal framing is a lot of space left free with nothing like an big air gap ....... WHY? I mean, why you don't fill that with some kind of extra insulation? You really think, that aluminium foil will do the whole work as insulator and for example, creating the perfect sound barrier?!
@OddLifeCrafting6 жыл бұрын
For insulation we are not worried at all as we will still have extra external wooden shades. The only risk in our opinion is acoustic. We decided to that the risk. If it’s really bad we can always add a few acoustic panels. If not we leave as it is. We didn’t want to spend money on extra insulation if we think the one we have is enough. For acoustic let’s hope for the best. Heheheh 🙉
@OddLifeCrafting6 жыл бұрын
Ohh and I mean to have a good sound inside of the house. Not to isolate from the outside. We have no external noise at all. Only chicken and birds. Hehehehe

@phigood6 жыл бұрын
Eu estava pensando em fazer em drywall, mas, acho que vai trincar tudo.
@franskamstra27285 жыл бұрын
Can I ask why no extra isolation behind the inner walls? It would work so much better als isolation then the thin piece you put in first. And simple rockwool would not cost that much more for the comfort you would get from it
@OddLifeCrafting5 жыл бұрын
We didn’t feel it was necessary for our climate. So there was no point on spending more money if like that was already good enough. 😊👌🏼
@franskamstra27285 жыл бұрын
@@OddLifeCrafting OK I can understand that. I live in the Netherlands and we have a very mild climate (winter - 10c max and summer +30/35c) but I would love the extra comfort. Also I don't like the heat so isolation for summer would not be bad. BTW great series and keep it going.
@OddLifeCrafting5 жыл бұрын
Here is like only a few days a year below 12 degrees celsius and no really often above 32. This summer was really really hot for our standards and it was fine at the house. But later we will also install external wooden strips on the outside of the north side of the house so the sun will never touch the metal of the shipping container. We also have really good cross winds. 👌🏼😊
@franskamstra27285 жыл бұрын
@@OddLifeCrafting and I thought we had a mild climate. Damn then I can understand why you do it like this. Then a screen against the sun would be enough indeed. And for the wind we have that to here, last autumn we had a Strorm with forces up to force 10 and some gales to force 11. Me and my gf are also thinking about building with containers. But we have 2 kids from me and my ex. And wouldn't mind to have a kid together. So we need som me space. Our idea is using 6 40 or 45ft containers in a big H shape with the middle part place about 1 of 1.5 meters apart from each other and make a nice skylight between them
