I have been following you all from Kenya for a long time especially because I am so keen on securing my financial future. I also love to travel and you two were a huge driver in getting me to take my dream to travel to Portugal seriously. I finally made it there this year on a solo trip and it was so amazing. The only downside is that i didn't get to meet you even though I lived close to parque station which is very near your old place. Keep making great content.

It’s not boredom. They just have more money than they know what to do with, and lots of ideas for making more. (I’m sure they realized they could make huge rental income on a 4br 4ba in Lisbon! 2025 is going to be a bonanza for those who moved and bought property before the election.)

When they were visiting Thailand and titled such a “great place for a second home”, I told my daughter that they were scouting out locations to relocate out of Portugal . Let’s await the big reveal where this next location will be … I’m guessing, Thailand . The socioeconomic environment, far right rhetoric (Portuguese Parliament), language barrier since they’re not fluent in Portuguese enough to obtain citizenship, recent anti-foreigner rhetoric throughout the Iberian peninsula and the Mediterranean beyond the prerequisite politeness extended by those employed in Portugal’s hospitality service industry, clearly spelled out that it was only a matter of time, as I told my daughter months back, before this family left Portugal . Hope all those who attended the F.I.R.E gatherings in Portugal have the means to relocate as well .

They're good communicators, there shouldn't be any doubt they'd have the ability to get citizenship with very basic understanding of Portuguese. There's a ridiculous number of people that whole Portuguese citizenship without knowing the basic.

How can you justify the cost of their move being under €1500 unless that was just for packing and loading the moving truck? An international move would cost much more! Do you think their household items were packed to be loaded in a shipping container? I think they moved somewhere locally just outside of Lisbon.

A2 is like kindergarden level fluency, how can they not be at that level after 5 years? 5 weeks of intense duolingo and you can scrape by romance languages on A2 level exams, especially written to compensate for spoken and listening portions. They probably completed exams and waiting on the passport.

I’m planning to leave the US when my oldest starts college in a few years but I’m considering leaving sooner if I could wrap my mind around her finishing high school abroad to go back to the US for college.

Check with your state or your local community college to see if your daughter can do a year of community college in place of her senior year of high school. (It’s called dual enrollment. Not all states have it. If yours does, she could attend online and satisfy her HS credits that way.)
