The point you made about more variety car wise could be something so interesting. Not only about size, but there could be changes related to boost, pads, maybe speed. Of course trading some things with others, like: you can have a bigger car, but with less boost, you can have more speed, but with a little car... the list goes on. Sure there needs to be a well thought balance between those aspects. But this can surely be a thing explored more, at least in casual modes and matches.

I get what you're saying, but the main reason I still play RL is because it's 100% free of gimmicks and "the meta", everyone can play in their own style and still win. I would absolutely HATE having to start dealing with car loadouts and stats. In my opinion, this would effectively kill the game that I've come to love. It would create enough fundamental changes that I wouldn't be playing the same game anymore. Save those types of changes for events or extra modes. Leave the competitive aspects as they are. However, I DO agree with the point in the video that the existing hitboxes and cars need to be fixed for consistency.

Then in late 2020 that number peaked at ~150,000, naturally, because this is around both the Epic Games hullabaloo and quarantine... however, the number is now well _below_ that solid 4 year stabilization point at now ~40k. Despite new seasons, new songs, new cars, new decals, it doesn't seem like the game is holding all those dedicated players from before or the huge flux of people who checked back in before/during the F2P update. It just doesn't seem like enough to get them to press that green Play button any more. So it appears that, yeah, people have been complaining, and as such, indeed less people have been coming back. I would think it unwise as a developer/publisher to discredit complaints simply because they come from a gaming community! Notes: - these numbers are just restricted to PC, and specifically Steam, and because the game can no longer be bought on Steam, we can't expect this number to increase due to new purchases, so what would it take to get people to launch the game again? - stats taken from steamcharts(dot)com, please scrutinize as seen fit - I'd imagine other platforms have similar trends, but have the added benifit of new players being incorporated into the pool from new purchases, which would likely dampen downward trends - This is my opinion and conclusions drawn from the limited statistics we have publicly accessible (remember when the in-game queue list had numbers instead of just 'GOOD'? lol)

My gameplay edit, which most players would hate I'm sure -- at least initially, would be that you gain a bonus boost -- just like you have here other than that it disappears once you use it, for each demo that you do. So you could get 400 total boost if you were to demo 3 opponents in a row; although you probably would only get 200 in a game. I think this would be even better for RLCS because it would make the positioning and demoing game SO important. I think it would add A LOT more tension to the game and make it more like a FPS feel, but with the goal of scoring goals.

I realized how bad an offset hitbox can be when I learned to airdribble with workshop maps. The visual might suggest you hit the ball at a perfectly straight 45° angle, but then it bounces away or even touches your front wheels. Turns out the hitbox only starts halfway up the cars body. After looking it up and imagining it mid-dripple really helped that issue, but it also kind of annoyed me how this shouldn't be an issue in the first place.

My biggest problem with accurate hit boxes is what if the best cars in the game become ones that are no longer attainable or are extremely hard to attain. I feel like the devs are kinda stuck because reverting the 1.35 patch would cause a lot of turmoil in the short term where people complain about not having a particularly good car.

I feel like an experimental game mode where each player can select a 'perk' for their car would be cool. Some perks could be: max boost increased to 150, pads give 20 boost instead of regular 12, higher top speed for the car, instead of picking up pads you get the boost refil from dropshot, triple jump instead of double. These are probably unbalanced but they could shake up gameplay until all the pros would find out what works the best but maybe there will be a meta where each pro in a team uses a different perk. Idk seems interesting to me but take the perks itself with a grain of salt because i just came up with the idea.
