As followers of Christ, there is one thing for certain -- at some point in our journey, we will be asked to do hard things.
Whether it's a tough decision, a difficult task, a significant sacrifice -- whatever it may be, God's process is never easy.
So why does He ask us to do hard things?
Why does this have to be your path?
And why on Earth would we ever choose that path?!

Ever since getting sober three years ago I HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT HARD THINGS. God, who I rely on for my own survival literally has me regularly doing hard things if I want to stay sober I must. He gives me the power though to do it. Every time.

Pastor P! God is truly speaking through, you have no idea how many of us needed these chains broken, the stagnant fear of not being able, but with God we are always able. Such a good word. Thank you for doing the hard things!

Thank you for THIS episode and for sharing the authentic voice of God, sweet yet stern and developmental. I remember when God asked me to adopt my son and when his birth mother changed her mind… I literally was like…”God are you freakin serious? I gave you my very hard yes and THIS is what you do to me..??!!!” Long story short… he is my son after 8 brutal day’s of fighting on my knees against CPS, Drug Cartel, biological family, MY FAMILY, my husband left me during that process & impregnated another woman during this period.. I really thought God set me up for failure when in reality God was letting Hell know.. I was 💯 bought in to KINGDOM work (kickin and screaming.. but obedient nonetheless) You are one of my favorite voice’s of Gods sweet reminder’s of His love, mercy, grace and character 💜 Gracias Preston

Whew chiiiille! Thank you, Preston. The way you love & fear the Lord in your walk and then invite us into it, is humbling. It is insightful. I glean wisdom from it. His naming us (His chosen children, Jew and Gentile) Israel is not lost on me. Thank you for praying over us and making space. I love you back. Praying for you, your family and peers too, brother.

I am newly experiencing a hard thing of caring for my grandchildren. Every part of me knows I can't do this without Him, but I also know this is bringing me closer to Him. Thank you Pastor Preston for this reminder. When more days come that are challenging regarding the children this will comfort me.

This message could not have come at a better time. I have been wrestling a lot with what I believe God has called me to do. My heart has been for the promise and not the path and I have asked why the path is so excruciating. Jesus did it first.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! The Spirit of our God just used you to explain what I have been experiencing these last couple of weeks. It has been hard yet exciting! Difficult yet drawing! Heavy yet strengthening! Glorious yet humbling! You summarized everything that I have been experiencing. To add to what you were saying and what the Spirit has been speaking to me is the word CAPACITY! The hardness or difficulty of my path increases the capacity of fruitfulness. It is not about the fruit but the development of the seeds!

Man, I feel like most of the time if it’s God I know because in my body I don’t want to do it 😂😂 but like you said, once you resolve in your heart that you have to drink the cup (or for me carry the cross) you give up the right to complain about it. For another child of God to taste the King in shekhinah what’s a bit of mortal discomfort for me, but temporary ✝️🕊️✨

I've had a few things in my life that I considered to be a sacrifice. They were hard to do or live through, but somehow when I think about it in this light, I wonder if it's the same thing. You've got me running back to my journals to remember! Some things are hard because they are a consequence of something else. Some are hard just because the situation is a difficult one to navigate, but I didn't necessarily feel like I had a choice in the matter. I just had to hold on to or find my peace and walk on. But then when you said, "The hard way is the fun way." Ha! I don't know if I can give you that one, Preston. I'm more inclined to say the hard way is the right way, and that is the reason why I keep moving forward. I think to myself this is how the Holy Spirit would want me to do it, right? So do that. Even though it may not be fun, easy or maybe even though I may not even be sure I'm 100% correct in the moment I'm doing the hopefully right thing. Even if I love the results, can I call it fun on the other end of things? That might be a stretch for me. But if I think the Lord will be happy about it, then that is what gets me through.
