I drive an e208 (leased of course), so am already sold on the looks and it’s a great small car. However, we still have an ICE estate as there just aren’t any affordable ones out there that are big enough (MG5 too small). I’d love one of these but I know leasing rates on the e208 have sky rocketed due to poor residuals and at these prices the e308 is going to be the same. Saying that in a couple of years if there are low mileage ones around for £20k that would be a great buy.

I totally agree with the title. Which is why I ordered an E308 SW GT in Rouge Elixir (although p0rn red is more suitable name).

Just a couple of things I noticed (as an avid Peugeot owner). The tyres are 215's OK on good roads but a disaster on rough roads. I had the option of 18" or 19"" (low profile) on my 3008. I chose the 18" wheels. A much better ride overall. Noticed that the lady had her steering Wheel set a bit too high. A common issue with test drivers. There's a real knack at getting seat and steering wheel adjustments correct. But i-cockpits in the Peugeot are really good.

Hi , good review on this Peugeot Estate I'm a fan of estate cars. Now it's mainly MPVs I've only owned one estate car and I do miss it i am going back years ago and that was my Nissan Primera 2.0i Sport Plus Estate (P11-144 model) 2001 51 plate in silver had it for 7 years on a run I got about 42-44 mpg at a steady 60 mph very good for a 2 litre petrol engine. The diesel engine done about 46 mpg personally I think the petrol engine was the better choice. This Peugeot looks a good car but I would prefer a hybrid petrol electric in all a good car and great road test. Happy driving👍

Lovely looking car, love it in the dark military green type colour they do on the current 308. When they have a decent braked towing limit for towing a caravan and better range … maybe

The Peugeot e-308 SW is expected to be sold in more European markets than the MG5. For example, the MG brand is currently absent in the Baltic states (Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia). The e-308 SW is priced from €47,400 in Lithuania and Latvia, and €46,900 in Estonia.

This is something that is sorely needed in the States, however Stellantis is hell bent on not having brands like Peugeot available here (since the failed venture back in the '90's). Personally, I would go for the hybrid version - especially after hearing about Consumer Reports stating that EVs have a much lower reliability rate than petrol or even hybrid vehicles. And (of course) you; my dear Tish, look smashing in that outfit! Can never get too much of your beautiful self on my computer to watch! 🥰😘❤

There is no reality in which EV's are less reliable than other fuel types, the worst is Hybrids, engines, motors gearboxes....

I've no problem with more estates or saloons being released - people still want them, and many (like me) have no interest in SUV's at all. Just stick a diesel engine in one please and not a damn battery. I want to be able to refuel in

Almost the perfect EV. Good looking, a good boot, economical and the price is ok-ish for an EV. But unfortunately, it doesnt have any tow rating whatsoever, so no small trailer trips to the local landfill or recycling centre with stuff that can't fit in the boot. I see the new eC3 has a tow rating of 550kg which is acceptable, through strangely the Aircross version will only have 350kg, so maybe Stellantis are waking up to the fact the people do pull light trailers from time to time. So almost the perfect EV, but lack of towing capacity rules it out. Good comprehensive review, by the way.
@sharonec541911 ай бұрын
Thats not the bonnet over the loght Tish. The bonnet is the part that opens up just like a boot opens at the rear. Its the front body panal that goes over the lights not the bonnet.

In my opinion hybrid estates are making up for the lack of EV estates. Best of both worlds, I guess. Anyways, right off the bat: the style. Can't mistake it for any other car. That's how unique Peugeot is. Staying on the topic of estate, I just saw the upcoming 2024 Toyota Crown Estate, and my gosh she is a beauty 😍😍😍 so it makes me wonder: will customers choose the Peugeot (more affordable and superior range) or would they go Toyota Crown (hybridized, reliable and luxurious) I'm very curious about this one.

My problem is range vs price. This car starts at more than £40,000. My mum is a 200 mile drive away, so it will only just get me there. If I want to drive to, say, Cornwall, for a Camping holiday, I'm looking at 300 miles so I need a long stop at a public charging station. And I'm not allowed to charge it on a campsite. The car looks good, but it doesn't do what I need. For more than £10,000 less I can have the identical looking petrol 308SW, which will get me to Cornwall on one tank of fuel and takes 5 minutes to refill at a supermarket.

Car prices have stealthily gone through the roof, so much that £40k rolls off the tongue these days with ease. Manufacturers are cutting so many corners now, cheaper interior materials, "vegan friendly" plastic seats etc etc. Quality is getting worse while prices go up. Take a look at the inside of a 10-15 year old Audi as a case in point.
@terryosborn11 ай бұрын
Agree with you, estates are great, just replaced my defective new Kia Niro HEV with a Skoda Superb estate. Diesel but this is giving me a range of 850 miles plus and 60 plus to the gallon, no range anxiety, no queuing for chargers and paying excessive electricity prices if using public chargers what’s not to like.

I absolutely love this car. It’s damn near perfect. I do wish they’d kept the old Lion logo though. The shield is so… bland. One of the things people need to remember about EV range is that it often comes because of a larger battery. While that larger battery gives you more miles and poser, it unfortunately reduces efficiency and increases charging time. A car like this may only do 200 miles, but it’ll charge much faster, making it more livable than many high range EVs, especially if you plan on using a home charger most of the time. And I can see how people living in Canada or the US could have range anxiety with their travel distances, but 200 miles in the UK? Very few travel that very often. Back and forth to work, a Tesco run or two, the pub, take the dogs out a few times a week… that’s probably 200 miles for me in a week. That’s without ever plugging it in. If I do 15 miles a day and plug it in when I get home I’ll be back up to full in an hour (I wouldn’t keep it past 80% almost ever, but that’s how long 15 miles would take). I could plug in overnight every 3-4 days and it’ll still be beautifully full in the morning. What else does one need really?

Better mileage than an SUV and easier to lift 3-4 bikes on a roof rack than on an SUV. They drive better. Estates also look better than SUVs but of course this is subjective.

@gordon422111 ай бұрын
Whatever way you look at it or try to dress it up it is still £43 k for a small Peugeot estate. It is just not worth that...
@spsmith4511 ай бұрын
List price. You’re unlikely to pay that and PCPs could be okay. Some would find this more practical than a Model 3.
@brummiesalteno-8111 ай бұрын
You're right it's not. I suspect however peugeot will offer good deals for bulk buy company cars and in 2-3 years time this will come on the 2nd hand market for a more reasonable 20kish maybe even less, as battery technology is developing so quickly.
@thejfg774111 ай бұрын
Kind of misses the point to say there might be some good deals or PCP will affordable. PCP exists by and large for cars that people can’t really afford. PCP is a treadmill of pretending you’re not paying much for a new car. And there’s a wider point here and I agree, 40k for a family car… I wish my wages had increased like car prices have. Cars are becoming aspirational luxury items.
@ISuperTed10 ай бұрын
No way anyone with any sense will pay anything like list price for one of these. I have an e208 and you can get £10k off one of those. The problem though is depreciation is huge and that has impacted PCP and lease rates as well, so as a new car it’s very expensive whichever way you go. I think the e308 will go the same way so best way to get one would be a low mileage used one which will likely be 50% of the original list price in a year/18 months.
@spsmith4510 ай бұрын
Maybe a company looking for an estate might be willing to pay, though they’d get better value from an MG5. Some might prefer a European-built car for environmental reasons (no shipping from China). @@ISuperTed
