I look there sometimes for face claims for oc’s and have seen some deeply disturbing images, and there was also this one super creepy glitch i experienced. So there’s an option where u can mix two pictures and they morph together into a new one. And that’s the main feature i use and i kept putting together different pictures and stuff. And then i tried mixing two pictures like i had been doing for like the past 20mins and all three of the combinations came out as this old heavily saturated man with some blue filter. And the weird part was no matter what photos i added or what settings i changed that same picture (or a variation of it) would keep coming up. every. single. time. I eventually just closed the website and went back on and it was back to normal, but yeah creepy especially cause it was late at night.

For people like myself(who can't draw) it could be a help for concept art, but it won't replace the need for artists.

@@pmaughmer I don’t think it’s fair to say it’s easier on a tablet or pc. It’s just different with a different set of skills. I know a lot of people who go from traditional to digital and do very similar art. And as for my self I tend to prefer digital because that’s where my interest and talent is. I think too many people misinterpret how much actual work goes into digital art. Yeah we get layers and filters but again that’s just a different way of doing art. It doesn’t take always from actual skills and knowledge you need to know to be an artist. Anatomy, and figuring out how light reflects can’t just be made up. In order to have a good art piece these sorts of things are essential. The basic are always the basics not mater what medium you use.

@@orang1921it’s not about the process of AI stealing art it’s the fact that artists are being replaced. And people who are not artists claim to “create” or actually make the image themselves which with eventually lead to a societal lack of creativity. Not to mention that art as always been at the forefront of most changes and new ideas. The process for an artist to make something based in emotion or experience. Then somebody else relates to it for those reasons or a different interpretation that speaks to them. Part of art is truly knowing that someone was behind every stroke or every color choice. Somebody actively made something beautiful or haunting it depressing. Or even just something fun. AI that’s all of that out. It takes away the human connection and takes away stories . It takes away our creativity as a species so instead of returning to human connection we push further on towards less empathy and less connection. To a future with none. Yes this was a big ramble, and you probably will think of me as some crazy person, but I hope that you take a moment to really think about the implications that AI taking over creative fields really means. It is not making our lives easier. It is destroying people’s careers and livelihoods (in large part due to late stage capitalism and corporate greed). It’s slowly chipping away at human compassion. Which is ironic because I say this to you through a screen and will never know if you have actually taken in my words and reflected on them or if you will just think to yourself “it’s just another dumb non-ai person on the internet. They don’t know what they’re talking about. Ai makes everything easier and I can look at pretty things!” Genuinely I hope you realize how devastating this can be for artists. There was a time I could have considered this a tool but it is actively not being used as such by corporations. Just a few months or so ago Wacom (a company selling drawings tablets for artists..) used ai imagery for their ad. Pretty damn ironic if you ask me.
