Saying "I deserve this and this person doesn't deserve this" is just wasting time. Time you can be using by drawing. Also, as someone who does something like dance (its not traditional dance) it is fricking hard. I do get it tho. I think we've all been there, but I think we need to focus on ourselves.

Likes and how many followers you have is not very important in my opinion. Like I think if you have an amazing gift show it to the world don’t just be thinking “Oh I hope I get more followers!” Or “I need more likes so I’ll post more.” This is not good for our minds because this can make us more stressed than we need to be. And it’s something that all of us crave likes, views, followers. And I think we should stop this craving because again this can make us more stressed and this can make us jealous or even think bad of our selfs because we’re not as good like our idols. But you should be following your idols path? Make your own path and plan out what you should do so you can have a happy life. Anybody who’s reading this think about the time when you felt jealous of someone. How did you feel? Did you think bad of your self? Ask your self these things. Hope you guys find a way to stop this craving and just show who you really are. I know that all of us have amazing gifts to show someday. :)

Personally, when I see that kind of content downgrading people to make themselves shine it just makes me block their content, I don't even pay attention to their art cuz as a dancer who has 13 years of nonstop bellydance lessons and a beginner in drawing I know the work it carries to achieve movements, techniques... and listening that we dancers don't deserve likes or followers because is not hard working, or is not art, or is not worthy gets on my nerves... I block those people cuz I don't need that negativity in my life, the pandemic hit my patience limit to still handle this people...

I am a former ballet dancer and also major different forms of art(watercolor, ceramics, sculpting, etc) in college. To say she doesn't deserve her moment are jealous negative Nancys. It takes years and hours of constant practice to be at a top level to dance. You have to work to keep you body flexible, muscle development is key to all moves. I started when I was 5yrs old and was in point by 14. That cannot happen with just a year or two of dance.

Great video!! I have so many feelings about this stuff too There’s no point in putting someone else down to build yourself up. Ever. I think, this stems from not so much jealousy but just people being frustrated that one person could earn so much money and get so many views with videos less than a minute long whilst they see all their hours of work unrecognized and earning very little if at all. Clearly Charli is an insanely talented dancer and if she was on a dancing show she’d be earning big time too. And I doubt people would criticize that as they can see the whole picture versus a few short clips. At a distance, it just seems that a quick dance gets thousands of dollars, the difference is it’s also about the person. People get interested and invested in the lives of that person and for whatever reason they blew up. Does it make sense? Not really...but..The entertainment industry man lol it pays big time But someone’s success does not take away from someone else’s, and if that person didn’t exist they still wouldn’t be affected or any better off with views. That energy is best spent on their own success instead of focusing on someone else’s. But I do understand the frustration, just not the constant passive aggressiveness. Nobody needs to be a millionaire especially as a teenager, it’s kind of immoral, but bringing them down won’t get you further either. Thing is, it’s also not that creators fault as they didn’t expect it to turn into what it has, they simply blew up, earned an extortionate amount of money and...what? Are they supposed to just say no thank you I don’t want the money or recognition pass? Lol I get why people would be frustrated, especially when some people grind for hours and don’t get anywhere for it when a 5 minute video gets uploaded and has millions of views. Unfortunately that’s just the way of the world. I’ve always said it’s not exactly fair that famous actors and footballers earn more than first responders and doctors, but at the end of the day, the entertainment industry has always earned big and I don’t blame these girls one bit for the money they get. Do I think it’s kinda immoral when there’s people out there with no jobs, losing their homes and working 60 hours a week? Absolutely. But their earnings and fame don’t take away someone else’s either, but again, I understand that frustration. There’s just no need to spread that negativity online because there’s already enough of it. These famous tik tokers aren’t exactly just going to say “no I don’t want it because other people are earning less than me”. I’d just like to think they use their platform for good and donate when they can!

So what? Why do you think you can dictate what people like? Let them be. And "effortless" - were you there for the prep work and all? I love how people on the internet just throw that around without knowing a thing. Sometimes the things that look easy and effortless are so much work to make them look like that. I know how a lot say that about food photography. But clearly these people have no idea what it is like to arange a food aesthetically, give it a shine, adjusting the lighting, angles and all that stuff. And then it is cold (if it was even meant for eating). Stop spreading assumptions and judgements.

I've seen all these Tik Toks and they say how they spent days to get so little likes. in my opinion you shouldn't do art that makes others happy or for likes. the whole point of art is to express yourself and have a great time. most of the greatest artist were hated as artist yet they are remembered for being the best painters and sculptors. Art is something beautiful that shouldn't be compared to anything else especially dancers and singers. everyone has different opinions on what they like. all art is beautiful in its own way. every creative thing like writing, dancing, and singing is amazing in it own way. I agree with you Rae that people should be doing pity votes saying look she just shook her but and got all these likes while I spent days working on this. Art Tik Tok should be about community and not about like. But I still love your Tik Tok tho.

Thank you, Rae, for addressing such an important issue. You have always been the ' positivity-spreading elder sister' to me, and I love your videos. It automatically, brings me to an instant agreement with your statement. As a singer and theatre-based actor, I've experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to put your heart and soul into your craft, only to see negativity and criticism being used as a trend. I've faced the challenges of putting everything into my art, only to see some people degrade others by claiming they 'deserve' success more. This mentality creates a toxic environment and is a flawed psychological concept. Art and creativity aren't about competition or entitlement but about expression, connection, and growth. By tearing each other down, we lose sight of what truly matters. It's disheartening when creators tear each other down instead of lifting each other up. The arts and content creation should be about sharing our unique talents and supporting one another, not degrading others for the sake of views or likes. Your words resonate deeply with me, and I hope more people will take them to heart. Let's keep the creative community positive and encouraging! 🎭🎶💖"

Rae u have just brought a point to notice which literally only a few creators do. I really appreciate that u also think the way it should be thought 💭. It should not be that, someone else is getting a chance to presenting their talent,their hardwork and their regular attempts to make something perfect or the way that pleases the creator ,and then a random person pops up and lists a few points filled with jealousy and says that what has she/he done? Everyone should respect every profession and also the completion shouldn't be in a form where we are competing for likes or follows but it should be done in the format which should be like What have I learned after this Is it something productive Is it good for the environment or people around me And all sorts of questions which should not be view with a person's perspective but from everyone's views I really respect ur thoughts and I am also in favour

Just found your 2nd channel. Your talent, attitude & explanation is why I follow you on YT. I love that you, Jazza, Chloe Rose, etc., support, encourage, & lift each other up. Drawing/Art was heavily discouraged when I was a kid. To the point that I just quit, and something was always missing for me. At 35 years old, I decided that I wanted to learn to paint. It wasn't like riding a bike. I struggled. A lot! But this time I had the love & support of my late wife, and young twins. (We painted together, and they still do!) They, (fraternal twins, boy & girl), are about your age. I'm now 64, with stage 4 terminal cancer. (no sympathy please, I've made my peace!!!) Point is... My priorities have much more focus now. All that I really want to do now is create. For me, there's no better feeling than seeing others work, and having it light that spark in me. I LOVE that you guys are encouraging & uplifting of others. Especially loved that you refuse to call anyone out by name. Thank You!

Very well said, Rae. I've seen this "trend" a lot on Reddit as well, and it's disappointing when I'm watching a video that someone took of their artwork and enjoying it and loving the piece, and they end it with something like "I only get 10 upvotes on my art while all these trashy memes get thousands." And that just kind of... kills the vibe, you know? I was enjoying looking at your artwork and thought it was really good and loved the medium etc, and then seeing a remark like that slapped on the end of the video just totally takes away any fun I had been having and puts a bad mood on the whole thing, really causing the opposite effect of what that person was intending. I hope that one day these people can just enjoy the creative process without comparing themselves to others.

It should be obvious to those people that memes are a lot more accessible and relatable than artwork tbh. Memes incorporate some kind of joke or relatable text, with some familiar visuals and usually a reference to pop culture. Personal artwork doesnt have all of that

I see this trend a lot on the etsy seller side of tik tok and it makes me so sad!! They kind of do content like "this eyelash/lipgloss shop gets more sales than I do" and it sucks! Like etsy sellers that sell that kind of stuff still put in effort. many make the gloss/lashes and those that dont still are creative in branding, packaging, etc. Hustling is still hustling and i hate when shops and/or artists do that comparison. Im guilty of doing it in an internalized manner as well, but we should hype other small or big artists up for what they do. Posting a tik tok or youtube video or art piece takes guts in general, everyones creative in their own right. we shouldnt compare or contrast people and decide what theyre worthy of, but focus on what makes them different/unique and hype them up for that awesomeness. Thank you for posting on this topic Rae, it really needed to be said.

Google's definition of art 1. the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. 2. the various branches of creative activity, such as painting, music, literature, and dance.

I feel like this topic should have been and is very well covered in this video, so thank you Rae! There’s nothing wrong with an artist wanting credit for their hard work, being a small art KZbinr myself I understand that. But, it’s not okay to go around bashing people just because you feel like you deserve more likes on something. It’s greedy, and it’s not at all humble or kind, which is what we need to see in more people especially in a year like 2020. I am not the biggest follower of Charlie D’melio, and I don’t keep up with her content much, but from what I can tell she’s just a teenage girl producing content and enjoying life, and there’s nothing wrong with that. To any artist who is working hard to create content, I get you, I respect you, and I understand where you are coming from. But, there is no reason to be greedy with the people who are viewing your work or content, and there is no reason to be bashing people like Charlie who are relative content creators enjoying the platform just as you are. So please, give respect to artists and creators on all platforms, no matter the age, audience, or kind of content, we’re all just trying to have fun during a difficult time. Also, shoutout to the wholesome Bob Ross figure in the bottom left corner, thanks for keeping peace dude 😊

Hey. I agree wholeheartedly, I myself am an artist with a pretty damn high skill level, who failed at becoming a professional illustrator. I sometimes feel jealous and even resentful of people whose art is worse but they are more popular (like Chloe Rose), but then I quickly come to my senses and realize: 1. It's incredibly unfair towards the other person, 2. Jealousy and bitterness is not the mindset of successful people. Instead of focusing on what others have that I don't, I can focus on my own improvement and happiness. When I catch myself being jealous, I always turn it around instantly into being happy for the person and being proud of them for their achievements. I congratulate them in my head. It was hard at first, but that's the mindset winners have.

It's so stupid that people think bringing people down will bring themselves up, because its definitely not, if anything your gonna get hate for that. It's just a big waste of time when your comparing someone to someone else, we all work hard... theres no reason to be rude or who works harder.
@total12283 жыл бұрын
This trend is actually the worst. Saying i deserve the clout and they dont doesnt do anything but make the other person get hate. If artists say theres no point on making art if no one sees it, theyre not an artist
@hellokaylee29772 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. We need to stop this trend, and we need to leave people alone and live their lives, the haters are just wasting their time hating on someone without even knowing them personally which I think is a stupid thing to do without knowing their life story. TikTok is just too toxic these days that it's getting to a severe point.

I completely agree with Rae, I too am a young artist too who absolutely loves to draw and paint and therefore, there are a lot of art-related tiktoks on my fyp. But there are these people who like to use the '''I am a artist on tiktok but I feel tiktok does not appreciate art because I feel worthless after spending hours of work and I get 2 likes'''. I get so annoyed because these people are guilt-tripping everyone who watches the video into liking even though the person is not interested or does not enjoy art. But you should never do these things and try and guilt others into liking your vids. You should just focus on your work and support all the other creators.

@@sihambelhaj8700 Yeah, but rolling your eyes is rude and disrespectful. And the ability to wiggle the ears may be inherited however it can also be learned with practice. Saying Charlie doesn’t deserve her likes and follows is the same as someone saying they wish art was easy when they look at your artwork, not knowing how long it took you to make that

I wish it was popular to not put down others to bring yourself or others up... Also, the big enemy of artists...is other artists. But also algorithms in most social media sites! People should focus less on letting their envy for a popular person get the better of them and try to find ways to beat whatever algorithm they're battling....or at least direct the frustrations at social media. Everything caters to the already popular, THAT is frustrating.

Yes, talented artists like Rae deserve more followers and views and likes just to get their art out there so they can make a LIVING in their field, but it's wrong to phrase this in a comparison. There's no reason to say "charli did this but RAE DID T H I S" when you could just as easily take the second half of your comment and say "a lot of artists on social media deserve more attention! Rae put a lot of work into this piece so let's signal boost it and get her more likes!!!"

I don't have TikTok but when i saw this video i just was mind blown that some people would make someone feel bad about what they like to do. Like when someone says, " Well, that's not talent", just ignore them. Block them out, and don't let them get into your head. If you love something and are willing to work on it all the time, then do it. Because you have the talent and potential to do anything that you will set your mind to. Keep doing what you love and don't let anyone tell you what is talent and what isn't. Stay Kind! ❤️

This resonates with me well. And I agree completely. When Jackie's craft box came out, I made a video about it. And she showcased it in her "watching others" video, I was beyond thrilled (like, I think I cried I was so excited). She showcased a bunch of them, and I followed most of them myself. There was one girl I really liked so I watched most of her content (as much as I could at the time). Overnight, I went from just over 100 subs to about 145. *She* went from around 200 subs to over 600. I was so freaking jealous! But you know what I did? I watched the rest of her content. It hurts when someone else gets all the attention that you want, but it's not worth making yourself an ass over it online. That shit will live with you forever! It never goes away. The internet remembers. One thing I have to say, though, is that I am sooooo happy we didn't have the World Wide Web when I was a teenager!
