I really like this Project of the Month idea. Will you be doing this again for 2025? If so, I believe I will join in! It will help me get started on some projects I really need to start doing.
@carolynmills513Ай бұрын
Me too! I have a list, but i am having back surgery next week and I know i am going to feel much better than this year. And...if I have the materials pulled so I can just grab and sew, I think I will be more inclined to do so. But I need some time to get things organized.

@ Exactly! I think, no matter what, I'm going to do this and start pulling together projects so I have a plan by the end of the year.

I loved this idea from the beginning! It has been extremely helpful to me!

I’ve been trying to tackle one UFO each month also. A couple have come out and gone right back in the closet in exchange for a different one. Currently I’m working on a 24 year old UFO that I’ve put back too many times.

Yes, we'll be doing it again in 2025!

You have very labor intensive projects. You accomplish so MUCH.
@FrugalQueeninFranceАй бұрын
I've realised, from watching other quilters, that I quilt differently. I cannot and will not start another quilt until the quilt I'm working on is completely finished including the binding. Then I deep clean and tidy my sewing room and then I start the next.
@LoraKrizanichАй бұрын
My girlfriend does that too. Her goal is completing whereas my emphasis is on creativity. I constantly move on to the next video or project. I am extremely organized when I'm chain piecing, everything is matched and ready to sew when I sit down 😂

You are a monogamous quilter. I am the same.

I'm the same way. It would drive me crazy if I had that many projects started. I have several projects ready to start. I just finished a lap quilt Xmas present finished and mailed to the person. She was delighted.

That is fantastic November is planned in your brain already. If you don’t finish the other 3 quilts just move them to 2025. Seriously we don’t mind. It’s something you tried to do, but life took over. Your shop is very busy, family life busy and health needed care. Hugs for the butterfly quilt

Glad I am not the only one who hasn't completed all the monthly projects. I still have some I chose in 2023 that will be moved again to 2025. But I appreciate this series because at least it encourages me to revisit/ finish my UFOs. Love the individual blocks you showed. They are really cute!

I’m sorry I missed this year’s Project of the Month club, but I’m already plotting what I want to attack each month of next year. I love your honesty about what you did & what you finished. Happy Quilting!

I love your project containers idea. I am inspired to make some. You could make a card for Jan, Feb, etc., and slip it beside the number on the container each month as you draw the number. Eventually all the bins will have a number and a month. And make a big star for the projects you complete!

Great idea! I'm going to try and do this in 2025! Happy Quilting!

Shelley, I really enjoy these monthly updates and drawings. If I make five quilts in a year, I’m doing great. So 12 projects are too many for me. I’m working on #4 right now, with 16 blocks to go. It’s a scrappy QOV and I’m really enjoying it. Final quilt for the year: a double-sided twin-size cat quilt. I’m excited about that, too! I’m glad you do this with us every year. Keep it up! 🥰🥰🥰

I love these projects and seeing your progress. While I'm working on a monthly block project, I'm using the down time to work on UFOs! I got a small top (36 × 42) and binding done this weekend; that makes a finish until I piece the backing with flannellette scraps!
@rachelburgener819Ай бұрын
Question- what do you mean by flannellette scraps🤔?!??!! ❤️😀

@rachelburgener819 Crumb piecing of scraps to make up the backing. It is ready now and I will assemble it for quilting this week.

Slow but steady progress. I see a few moving with you into 2025.I have a project I cut in January 2025. I don't think I will be actually sewing it until January 2025. In November I have some bindings to finish and my August project got postponed, but I hope to have the top together by December. ❤

Hint for future hexies (October): try using the circle method. It’s SOOOO much easier than all those fiddly angled cuts.

I didn't have to cut them because they were already cut when I got them. But I'll look into that
