Omg....what a beautiful baby girl. Olivia's mom must be devastated having to have to give her up. It's obvious she spent sooo much time with Oliva and gave her sooo much love. My heart goes out to her and I pray her situation changes for the best!

Yes, it's heartbreaking for the bird and the previous owner , so sad for both of them, but Olivia the gcc is in the best possible, she already responds very well with Capri and Jamie, sad but so fortunate that birdtricks family and flock took Olivia in as a part of there family, you can tell that the previous owner really did a fantastic job with much love for Olivia!👍♥️

Omg, isn’t Olivia the sweetest thing?! 🥰 I would have adopted her right away. She is SO adorable! What a sweetheart 💕 I love how good Capri is with her. When Olivia hopped down on the seat and Capri immediately withdrew her hands when she noticed that she was about to just grab Olivia, but then made space for Olivia instead so she could find her way back to Capri on her own. That was a beautiful interaction. 🤗

It made me cry to see how many amazing toys and things that Olivia had with her - including her name embroidered on her backpack. Clearly this bird was extremely loved and given the best possible care. I am so sorry that Victoria and Olivia had to be separated - I wish they could be together. It makes me think how things could change for me one day and I wouldn't be able to stay with my beloved budgies and cockatiel. All I can do is hope that this never happens. Victoria must be a strong person to let her beloved Olivia go. Take care of her, Capris!

@@cathyburnett6182 well, this, the fact she's female, the fact that she's well trained with no bad screaming habits, and the green cheek breed generally being slightly less loud- only slightly less- than other conures. She fools me a bitm i think once she warms up she'll make more noise, but I think she's maybe just a bit more quiet in general.

I interact with her every day (even though I work in the grooming salon and not the store itself) and she LOVES any human interaction. Super friendly. Is this the $1000 back pack available on the site?? We have one similar that is available at any pet store for less than $60. I was wondering what was the difference between the two back packs after seeing such a huge price discrepancy or possibly a misprint on the price. It looks like the owner was trying to take care of the little bird and wasn't able to do so with the time required. So sad seeing her bag packed. I do believe this is Capri's bird now and she will be a very good mommy too Olivia.

I adopted two different green cheeks in 2020. They both passed away suddenly. They were not owned at the same time. It's a shame, I really enjoyed their company and they came such a long way from being untrained and poorly mannered. I gave up because it's just too heartbreaking. As I live in a small country, I don't know if it's just a bad breeder or what - but it really sucks. If you happen to have any suggestions as to what may have caused it, perhaps my mind would be put to rest.

Poor diet, water not filtered, using air fresheners or fly spray/pesticides near them, providing toys that have cotton fibres that if eaten will block their croup, first one may have had a disease and if you did not clean and disinfect all of the cage/toys/bowls that you may have reused it could have been passed on

I have a question. What do you do about birds chewing and destroying your clothes. I’ve probably already wrecked my bird because she’s been allowed to do this for years. It is the #1 thing I don’t like and often keeps the bird caged when I’m wearing nice clothes and don’t want to change my clothes and/or bother with a bib. Oh and wrecked clothes because she can be fast and sometimes leaves the bibbed area without me knowing. Or chews through the bib. I have a Jenday Conure. A perfectly lovely sweet bird thanks to all the wonderful information and training from Birdtricks.

I'm reading several comments here talking about how they have _one_ bird, even single lovebirds. I'm a bit shocked about that. I hope in the future you are emphasizing more the fact that most parrots are swarm birds and keeping them without companion is cruel. (in some countries it's even against the law to keep single pets)

Hi i need help a week ago we got 2, 1 year old green Cheeck conures a boy and a girl, brother and sister. At the beginning they were a bit afraid but it is getting better but they began to bite alote and very hard, they groom my hair but bite my clothes and all over my hands, arms , neck you name it, and they eat the skin they bite of😲😬🫣 We give them so much attention, treats and out of the cage time. They don’t allow us to touch them with our hand only sit on the finger. The bob their head up and down, and move beak on surface from side to side and so on, walk in circles together, fluff up the neck feathers so they look like eagles 🥺I have now anxiety when they are on me/on my children because I know they will bite hard, seems they want to hurt us. Are they hormonal or do they hate us?Don’t know what to do.

I found a Green Cheek Conure sitting outside with the sparrows in early July. After months of searching for the original owner, I ended up being his forever home. 🤣 💖He's a great bird and such a wonderful companion. (Only downside is, he is friendly and lovable to everyone, even strangers, except for my parents. Fly attacks and bites them. I'm still trying to learn and figure that situation out.) It's funny because I actually watched your videos prior to finding him, I was always interested in birds, but never thought I would have one. Your videos have helped me a lot, and it's so nice to see this little Green Cheek today. 💖

I've kind of a cynic nowadays regarding people surrendering their pets, so what I'd like to know is if this little birds first owners "situation change" was a truly legitimate reason or if she was one of the countless irresponsible pet owners who discard their pets who love them. Would they do this to a child? Likely not. A pet is a commitment for the duration of your pet's life, just like a child. Sorry, don't mean to be a "b" but it would be nice to know why a pet the size and quality of Olivia all of a sudden became too burdensome ??? Is she living in her car now? Of course she found one of the best people to surrender Olivia to, but perhaps people should think through the stability of their own life before they take on anothers'. 😐

Pretty amazing if you ask me, he's my little man for sure dads boy. Love yours up and treat him great, he will be your best friend no doubts. They are small but have the biggest heart. They will get food aggressive but you can tame that with time, love and patience. I did and we eat are meals together as well. Lol man what outstanding animals with huge feelings. So sorry Victoria had to find a new home for Olivia, but she certainly lucked out by you taking this little beauty on. Wondering if Olivia might be an Oliver, was she ever sexed? Green Cheeks can be pretty good talkers, and I noticed how intently she was listening when you were talking. I say this because I had a GC who did the same, he would try to talk (garble) when sleeping, but one morning when I went to get Piper up, he clearly said Good Morning, and before I knew it he was saying it before I took off his night cage cover, lol. Piper learned several phrases and I miss that little guy. Wishing you all the best with your new special friend, looking forward to what's next. Thank you for taking us along.

Not long after, she says all kinds of stuff, almost everything I do. Next thing ya know, she had taught the other one and now they both talk up a storm. They ask to take a bath. say I love you, ask what you are doing...so much! Soooo much fun!! Also, excellent flyers! Dipping and dodging, cutting corners. the super strong headed female that started talking first, acts alot like batman, diving off high cage and dropping, when close to floor will swoop up and fly...coolest thing! I could go on and on...love these precious birds!!! so full of life and so smart!!!

One other thing, they call each other by their name...and have conversations, even talking to my IRN and hollering at him by name. it's so sweet! The IRN is scared of everything and breaks my heart because I try so hard to engage. Had him well over a year and I cant even get him out of the cage much. I hate keeping a bird caged but trying to get him put back up when I have to leave...is soooo hard on him and i fear him getting hurt or having a heart attack...

This makes me want to rethink bird ownership. I'm so tempted to have my husband watch this. I've decided I won't get another one if I can't have double entry (not sure if this is the correct descriptor). He has said to "tell me what you want". I've waited a year and a half since my budgie died. Maybe I will start thinking what life would look like with another bird in the house, instead of only getting my "fix" here with BirdTricks. Olivia, you could not be in better hands AND your mommy did such an amazing job with you AND for you.

All the birds I’ve owned in my life were conure’s. They are very well behaved (except in some cases) and love attention.

You are without a doubt the best trainer out there, but even more so an incredible mother! Capri seems like the most caring and helpful assistant you could possibly have. My daughter and I always enjoy learning from your channel and I know our parrots appreciate you as well 💜

I’ve hand fed 9 green cheek conures. None of them were shy. I would bring potential adopters into my bird room, and the conures would fly to them as if they didn’t understand the concept of stranger danger. They love taking baths in their water dish. They love to wrestle, but sometimes will play too rough and will end up biting (they can bite hard!). They love being thrown like a football. They’ve all be able to put up with my group of 10 Quakers, sometimes instilling fear amongst them, because they can dish it out just as much as the Quakers.

I don'3 fix a fresh breakfast, I give bite size tiny pieces of veggies, fruit, nuts & spring mix. He eats from my fingers. To be honest my kove bird, GCC & dog eat so much better than I do. A y hemp at all will be sincerely appreciated. Thank so mu h i hope to Learn so much from you. I have conflicting information from other of my bird subscriptions. ❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊

I thought it was great the way Capri handled herself with Olivia. I was concerned about her be nipped by the NEW BIRD, either it was so well trained & or both grew out of that stage. I eill have my GCC for 2 months coming the 12th of September. He was hatched 4/20/23 & I got him on 7/12/23. So he is really still a baby. I had to purchase arm sleeves because of the bitting (drawing blood on my fingers & arms). It has helped a lot. He it still nipping some exposed knuckle areas. I have thun skin & bruise very easily which is bad, so that doesn't help matters. He loves his MAMA ALWAYS kissing me on the lips & nose inside the cage & on me. He evens says plainly whatcha doing & understands many words he is very bright & historically funny. He loves to entertain me & loves hanging upside down & swings from his toys. I would say he is very happy all the time.

I got myself a pineapple Conure, I've been told she's 8 to 12 months. Her wings were hacked,. So angry 😡 about that, it must have hurt her,. She jumped out on to my hand first day. She's a Diva. She loves to bite , but does not draw blood on me , she can be super cuddly too. Can you give me a few pointers . Thank you

Jamie- I got a green cheeked Conure around the same time your daughter did. Lemmi. He is one year old I am in a wheelchair and of limited mobility. How else can I train him to be more tame? He is fully flighted right now and it’s kind of a problem. Also, he is kind of nippy, and I would like to curb that out. Thank you.

I’m sad I can’t keep my budgies my heart condition hypertension and type 2 diabetes is worse making it difficult to get around and care for Mochi and Greckles as my sweet girls deserve. Thankfully I found the Lethbridge Parrot club to surrender them to. Their club president Meghan is picking them and their cage and all their things. Three on your fresh food system and human grade seed. Mix. I buy you toys, and have your spray bottle. I live in Canada so I can’t get your pellets or tops. My girls are afraid to come out but I have a carrier . I clean the cage it’s the biggest I can afford. I’m praying their new home has the means to care for them. I hope to be able to join yore Patreon and help birds that way and visit the birds in the pet store to get them used to people.
