1st. Such a great video! I would also like to see you video your day. Feeding.training,. Day to day life, it might be boring to you but old ladies in New York and other state, and foreign countries like to re-live their experiences with rodeo. Do the ladies still compete in pole bending or did that get discontinued. I still like to watch barrel racing and all of the roping events .
@cnahorses2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Karen! I appreciate all the feedback and support you give me ☺️ Those are great ideas! I will have to make those for sure 🥰 Pole bending is still pretty big in the junior rodeos and high school rodeos but not in college rodeo or the professionals. That is awesome, barrel racing and team roping is my favorite!

Great video…please please tell me more detail how y’all score yer round robin! A copy of y’all’s rules would be very appreciated. Everyone ropes with everyone else, so if a team misses are they out? If the header caught do they keep their points if the heeler misses? What happens to an unlucky heeler who never gets to use their loop due to all their headers missing? We run a round robin like y’all’s but would really like to get these answers…thanks We’d also like to get a copy of y’all’s complete rules, we’d sure appreciate that!

Thank you so much! I am so glad you liked it and that is awesome that you have something similar! We don't have any written rules... we probably should make a real rule sheet at this point ha! But I can give you the general rules and set up... We had about 30 ropers total. My dad makes a spread sheet that I showed in the video and he will randomly put 15 names on the horizontal side and randomly put 15 names on the vertical side. We can't have a true round robin with that many people so at random we cross out half of the teams. That way everyone was going to get 8 partners in the first go round. We do three rounds. Partners are at random and everyone (except for kids or beginners) has to rope each side at least once. So that means everyone has to head and heel at least once in the first go. Everyone get a steer with their 8 partners in the first go and as long as they catch they move to the next go. We do a point system so each side (head and heel) can get up to 4 points as a team. 2 points for slick horse catch but 1 point for half head or neck, 2 points for two heels or 1 point for one leg. If a team misses and doesn't get any points then they are crossed off the spread sheet and do not advance. The header and heeler must both catch for the points to count. After three rounds we see what team has the most points and they win! If there is a tie then we have a three steer rope off with those teams using the point system again. I hope that helps... my dad would say that he is the ultimate judge and may make some on the spot 'arena rules' ha. It is always so much fun. Most the teams are picked at random but my dad may change somethings to make it fair for everyone... and especially the kids. We want this to be a fun family friendly ☺️
