Been waiting for your annual fun year end outing on the Zam. Very much one of my favourites. The beauty and the warm warm water! The catchment river upstream extends for roughly 1000km and is an extensive network and so when the rains come - and they mostly come Dec-March, the river can rise multiple cm per day. This makes it fun

I'm curious, how much does it cost to kayak on the Zambezi? Accommodation, getting kayak/kit there (or hiring?), shuttle runs, anything else I'm missing that adds to it!

around 40 dollars a day + hostel + kayak if you need to rent one. the 40 dollars include national park entry, shuttles, porters, a tip for the porters.

dane in a not-pink kayak feels somehow sacrilegious. btw, how do u travel with the kayak? just as check in luggage? or do u use some other shipping method? over here most airlines I have seen dont take kayaks of any size

Yeah either we end up on an airline that does take kayaks, or if it’s one that doesn’t I just put it in a surfboard bag and say it’s surf equipment.
