I feel for Trent back in 1965 I was wrestling in Jr high school. I was 2 pounds overweight my coach gave me a handful of bubble gum put me in the boys shower room with all showers turned in to the hottest possible temp. I chewed gum and spit for two hours while running around in nothing but tennis shoes (Chuck Taylor high tops) to keep from slipping on the wet floor!! I was 6’5” my Wright class was 132 I lost the weight and won my match! I’m sure you will make weight and and win yours. Today I am 6’5.5” and wright 240 so I don’t think I will make weight I’m also 71 years old lol

Our third son, who is now a grandfather, climbed out of the crib at 8 mos. So I got an extension for the side. He then climbed over the end. Just a old lady's warning, Leo needs to have his own bed before the baby is born. He might not be happy giving up "his bed" to a new baby in the house.

Allie, I am sorry this is personal, but I just visited with my friend who has ALS. She told me that hers is caused by genetic mutation. She is 63. This does help her somewhat for treatment because there is medication to slow the progression. This however helps her niece (she is 31) immensely, she also got tested and has the gene for ALS. She now sees a neurologist and she is able to start this medication (has something to do with neurofilaments) while she has no symptoms hoping it will give her an increased chance of prolonging to onset of symptoms. It has showed improvement with our friend. Her niece is also in clinical trials. I am sorry if this was not appropriate for you to see here, but maybe it will help others suffering from this devastating disease. I have said many prayers for you..

Since y’all are friends with Eamon & Bec & share many of the same subs, I’d like to ask y’all to pass on to them well wishes. They haven’t posted in a loooooooong minute & I’m fighting off serious concerns popping into my brain. If y’all speak with them, please let them know they are missed & loved & my prayers & well wishes are with them. Okay that’s all. Thanks y’all! So great that you two had a couple days (or 3 days) together alone, Allie, to just enjoy each other without all the 'baggage'. My daughter climbed out of her baby crib at 9 months. Now her twin brother didn't until 13 months. I just put a baby gate up and they just played until I heard them. You are very blessed to have kept Leo in that crib for so long. They grow up to fast. 3 is about the time they stop taking naps. Especially if he isn't doing anything to where him out. I would take him to jungle gym in the morning early afternoon. Then he will nap. I babysit my cousin when he goes outside to play on his trampoline and play ground set by the time I bring him and eat lunch, he is exhausted. Good luck and have fun.

Allie called this trip a “baby-moon”. I know she enjoys supporting Trent’s jujitsu journey AND I know they just had a small family trip after the funeral. HOWEVER, Baby Two is a whole different ballgame (especially being that they’re still in the thick of the home renovations). These two deserve an ACTUAL baby-moon. A relaxing weekend retreat. Even if it’s just a spa somewhere local near them in Utah. They don’t have to film it. They need a mental, emotional, and physical reset before Baby Two arrives. They deserve it!

@charlotte50224

@tihgger7466 Clearly, you must live a very sheltered life. Even as a teacher, I'm well aware that the mastery of proper grammar has a lot to do with your home environment. In other words, people tend to use the grammar they hear in their household growing up. I was extremely blessed to be raised by two educators. My Dad was not raised around people who used correct grammar, and my mom was. So for her, my sister and myself, using proper grammar came naturally. My dad being in the education field was motivated to retrain himself, away from the incorrect usage with which he grew up. And he succeeded. So with my two sets of grandparents I saw two worlds. But were the grandparents who had never really heard correct grammar less intelligent than the ones who did? No!! You do no better, if you've never been taught. Both my parents were the first in their families to be college educated, but my moms family lived in an environment where correct grammar was used. Anyway, the point of what I'm saying is, Trent's struggle with grammar has nothing to do with intelligence. But instead I suspect what he grew up hearing. He's clearly intelligent to have mastered so many construction skills, and whether he says run or ran, has no bearing on the level of those skills. I admire that he is trying to retrain himself. That's not an easy task! At times when he's asked I've tried to give him some tools to figure it out, as have others, and you can tell he does want to satisfy people. But again, his grammar usage has no bearing on his building skills, nor does it indicate he's stupid if he's not always grammatically correct. So how about you ease off a bit. I saw you make another really unkind comment earlier. Look if you don't like them, no one's forcing you to watch them! Why must you be so rude??

I had 18 months between my first two kids, as soon as they starts to climb out of the cot , it’s time for a proper bed. It’s best to do t well before the baby comes as he might get a bit territorial if he sees his brother I his cot then you can talk to him about where his brother will sleep. It might not be such a deal. I’m sure you both have thought of that. I got married at 16 and had my Son when I was just 17 and 19 when I had my daughter we had a gap of 9 years then had another son when I was 27/28. I didn’t know a thing we just got on with it mistakes and all. You couples now have it all together these days. You’ll figure it out to suit your needs. Much love from Perthshire in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❤️❤️❤️

We used to move our bedrooms to the basement every summer (to stay cooler). You could put the guest room in the loft. Put Leo in the guest room. Put your bed and dresser in the exercise room until your addition is built. It would give you a lot of peace of mind about Leo's safety.

I realize you didn’t ask but when you are doing the shower, if you’re adding the shower built ins for shampoo and soaps, consider putting them on the same side as the shower head. We just did yours and put them on the plain wall. They get the spray of our shower.

My eldest son was a climber. I secretly watched him climb up and out of his crib. He knew how to do it. I quit worrying so much about it because he was going to do it anyway. My biggest concern is the 1/2 wall. Our son was climbing out the front window one day and I caught him by his foot. They are just curious little guys. He’s now 42 and in one piece.

I agree that half wall has always made me nervous my eldest son was able to climb out of his cot(crib ) at just on a year Then he progressed to balancing on the side top and opening the door occasionally he got it wrong and crashed to the floor Once we were staying on the 10th floor of a hotel with a ledge quite high but had a partially opening window A quick trip to the store to buy tape and string to effectively lock all the windows shut after I found him balancing on the cot edge halfway onto the window ledge Wasn’t going to wait to see if he could squeeze out of the window !!

Leo is over 2 years old.. he should not be sleeping in a crib at this stage of life. You are stifling his growth as evidenced by his inability to speak.

Yes that’s a tough phase ! I had my middle son 3 years older climbing into babies crib with a box of cereal hahahah Then I knew it’s all over now ! Then bunk beds but in mean time I could lower the one side of crib hopefully to avoid a big fall 😮But yes time to get up

...And while we're at it...Just between 'YOU and ME some of us get confused wondering whether to say 'You and I' or 'You and me." As an easy aide memoire... drop the You in the You and I and see if the sentence sounds right. For example, 'You and I need a vacation... drop the You and see how "I need a vacation" sounds. Or should you say "Thanks for inviting Trent and I" or Thanks for inviting "Trent and me." Drop the Trent and listen to how " thanks for inviting I" sounds. Hope this helps.

Training Leo in a big boy bed in the basement is very ”doable”. You get a 2 way baby monitor so he can talk to you and you can talk to him. He is taught not to get out of bed until he calls your name and you allow it. You will thank yourself for training him on this before the baby comes. You don’t want him being awakened every time the baby wakes. You are the parents and you have to do it YOUR WAY but this is a suggestion.
