One of my favorite things to freeze is precooked ground beef. I make the mess once by frying it all up and then I portion it out into meal sized Ziploc bags (quart size for my family). I frequently chop mushrooms finely and fry them along with the ground beef. (It stretches the ground beef a little, too.). Once the baggies are full, I flatten them, flash freeze them by stacking them on a cookie sheet so they stay flat and put a paper towel between each baggie. That keeps them from freezing together. When they are frozen, remove the paper towels and use them for something else (like cleaning). When I need a quick meal, I can take a baggie out of the freezer and they thaw pretty quickly because they are flat. When I’m REALLY in a rush, I just heat up whatever sauce I’m using (spaghetti sauce for a meaty marinara; or chili sauce for sloppy Joe's; or taco seasoning and water for nachos, tacos, or burritos). The ground beef thaws and heats through right in the sauce and I can have dinner on the table in about 20 minutes.

I ❤ cooking up meat and freezing them. We love brisket, pork butt, roasts etc & put them in the freezer. Then there is Thanksgiving turkey and Christmas & Easter hams

Yes!! We have a lot of turkey and ham in the freezer too. It makes meal prep so fast once it’s all cooked and ready to go! Thanks for watching! Hope to see you back soon!

Hi! New to your channel and excited to see both freezer meals AND a grain mill!!! Was the flour you used for pie crusts also FMF? Which berries did you use? For the pie crust recipe, did you use grams or cups for the FMF weight?

Good video!!! I need to get some stuff made and froze. I don't like aluminum pans either. I have found some stainless steel ones that have plastic lids. They come in 2 sizes. I think the 8x8 would be good for desserts or smaller portions. I got some of both to try. They are not expensive at all. I enjoy watching your videos. You little helper is so cute. My little helper is 21, married and just bought her first house.

I apologize if you already said so in the video, but for the Turkey Pot Pie, do you bake from frozen or thaw it 1st?

What tortillas brand did you use? I buy from azure and have yet to find any I like. They seem to break apart.

@@JamieC444 I can’t find good “healthy” options at this point. These are just from my local store. Ideally I’ll find a recipe that I like to make them homemade, but I’m not there yet!

Confused. Did you thaw and refreeze pork?
@thehometownhomesteadАй бұрын
Yes. It was cooked, which is perfectly safe as long as it’s handled properly. You are to refreeze within 3-4 days of thawing. I turned mine around in about an hour.
