@@jay7568that narrative sounds good but let’s be scientific for a second, that’s not how energy works in the human body. You can’t store energy from January to use in March lol If you wanna make the argument that his players get injured more because they’re playing too much, that would make sense. Because no amount of conditioning will prevent “wear and tear” in your joints and the like. And there’s the probability aspect, where if you have say a 1/7000 chance of getting injured, the more you okay, more likely you are to finally roll the wrong number. But Humans adapt to physical conditioning, so if anything playing 45 mins a game would just make their bodies used to playing more, the same way a cross country runner trains for a marathon running further than before every couple months. Problem is humans have limits, no matter how much you condition yourself, you’ll never be able to sprint for 2 straight hours at top speed. In the same way history has shown no basketball player can play at 100% for much longer than 45 minutes. Like I said the Thibs narrative sound catchy, so people like to go with it because of his history, but that’s not why the Knicks are struggling. I just think their starting lineup isn’t as strong on a consistent basis as we believed, and as I said before the season started, KAT should be getting rotated between PF and center instead of being forced to play Center 40 mins a night every game. That’s why he fit so well with Gobert, because Gobert was able to give KAT the freedom to play a different role against certain teams, which we saw could be extremely effective against the Mavs. They need a true rim protector, that can bang down low in the paint in the 2nd half when they have a lead, and let KAT put more energy towards offense, and help space the floor, he’s their best 3pt shooter not just in terms of efficiency but range

@MrBubblecake11 күн бұрын
Knicks problem is Brunson just as much as Thibs overplaying guys. But the Thibs narrative is more popular because of his history so of course that’s gonna be the one people run with, and nobody wants to blame a star pluses unless they’re playing extremely bad. But Brunson is doing too much, and not creating enough for others. He’s also getting exposed on defense. I think they need to get another big, whether it’s bringing back Mitchell Robson soon, or making a trade for Jonas Valencius or Walker Kessler so they have can play KAT at PF sometimes, especially in the 2nd half when they need a big to bang down low on offense while KAT stretches the floor and help protect the rim on defense. KAT is using too much energy on defense, and rebounding and it’s effecting his ability to get up and down the court late in games and hit his late game 3s. Brunson also has a habit of trying to “take over” whenever the team is down in the 4th instead of creating for others. KAT needs to be shooting 3s in the 4th quarter, especially when they’re down. He’s their best shooter not just in terms of efficiency, but in terms of range as well, his floor stretching is unmatched, and if they had a 2nd big to play alongside him, imagine the matchup nightmares they could create for defenses having to choose between putting their big on KAT or Robinson/Jonas. Walker Kessler would actually be a perfect fit because he can shoot too, so him and KAT could take turns dragging bigs out to the perimeter and knocking down 3s when/if they play help, or if they put smaller defender on them, they can punish it by cutting to the rim and catching lobs and finishing over top of small defenders. If you’re gonna be a team that plays starters 40 mins a night, you might as well invest the rest of your salary cap in an expensive “6th” man like kessler or Jonas who you can play alongside KAT and put Josh hart on the bench more. It wouldn’t even be a 6th man role per say, but hart and the 2nd big would both just take turns as starters depending on matchups and situation
@AirRusher199212 күн бұрын
I think the only solution to the Knicks' recent problems is Mitchell Robinson (assuming he was healthy, of course), and maybe he can be a difference maker for this team. I was a little on the fence if they should have traded for Karl-Anthony Towns. Sure KAT is the better big man than Julius randle, but I don't know if they should have given up chemistry for better talent at this time, although I do think that this is a good move...I guess. Another thing is Tom Thibodeau, who is a great head coach, has an innate problem of over-utilizing his starting lineup.

We barely win games as it is. Thibs puts the bench in and we lose those minutes. What do people want?

I cannot take anyone who says “the knicks bench is bad” seriously! This same EXACT ROSTER under Ty Lue, Ime Udoka, Eric Spoelstra , we won’t hear a WORD about a “bad bench” because those are actually SMART coaches who know how to MAKE ADJUSTMENTS unlike this SORRY @$$ COACH ! The same GOOFBALLS calling this a “bad bench” called a bench with Quickley, Hart, Obi, Fournier, Hartenstien, Donte, Grimes, McBride “Not a solid bench”…. Yes, knicks fans who watched Thibs STILL overplay his starters and not give his bench opportunities remember this VERY VERY VERY WELL! IHart didn’t get much time until OVERWORKED Mitch got hurt…. Have folks forgotten WHEN Randle played his last game with the knicks ? Knicks up about 20 with 4 minutes to go and all the starters were still in…… have folks forgotten all the “trade ideas” to trade away Quickley, McBride and grimes for “Dejounte Murray”’s WEAK @$$ ? Did Eric spoelstra not take a roster full of GLeagers to the finals TWICE ??? ? Have yall not seen what Ty lue is doing with the clippers roster THIS season? Remember this comment for future reference when you realize that the knicks DO have a really good bench….. Tyler Kolek, Ariel Hukporti are ready to contribute RIGHT NOW! They are ALREADY good enough to contribute to that bench at a VERY HIGH level! But the IDÍÔȚ coach would rather play SIMS 😂

Thibodeau is at fault, period! Tell me how a real coach like Spo can grow bums into great role players like Strus, Vincent, Martin and yet this overrated ass coach refuses to play anyone that’s not a vet or a starter and so he’ll always have a “bad” bench. Thibodeau’s brain disallows him to trust anyone outside of starters and the result is exhaustion and injuries to his starters. Also Thibodeau cannot defend the 3 to save his life. New York has to break up with him, this is our best roster since maybe even the 99 Knicks but we’re held back by horrid coaching that will never trust the bench, any bench
