DUDE, THOSE CADILLAC 500'S ARE SOOO COOL! As a kid in the 70's I really wanted one of these to put in my future hot rod. Farmtruck is bringing these production block beasts back to life, so awesome 👍. It's cool cause you can smoke the competition in the stock car class, with ALL THAT CADILLAC POWER! Thanks for bringing these cool engines back to life, very appreciated! Anyway, thanks for the video 📸.

19 minutes 38 seconds farm truck says we'll pull the carburetor and have Terry go through it. By 20 minutes and 18 seconds Terry collects a few of his items, and just like me slides out the back door. We need more FNA videos. Or at least I do. Love you guys

i remember when i was on the chevy truck forum quite a few years back , there was this guy that had a 60s chevy truck like the farmtruck and had one of these big 8 liter caddies in it , the thing was stock (there basicly no hop up parts available for them at the local carparts place ) but smoked the tires at every light blown one up every two years or so from just misuse and found another one to put in , its basicly a factory mountain motor there are a few cars that used the eldorado engine and transmission in rear engined pickups , from wat i remember the trans is put next to the engine with a chaindrive
@watahyahknow8 ай бұрын
btw those same transmissions are sought after for a certan type of gmc motorhomes that is still verry populair and often get restored en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GMC_motorhome

not sure why they call 305 a boat anchor. You guys got 3 of the real thing. I am sure you'll get advice.. but I learned you had to loosen these up by a bigger cam, and simple hot rod stuff in the guts. I have seen these at 300hp anyway. a local guru found a way to loosen them up a little and run them. Pointy camshafts..they gotta go to the dumpster..

Might as well see if you can soak the cylinders of both the engines that locked up and the engine with water in it. The locked up one may surprised after a day or two of soaking. The engine with water in it may be repairable but at what cost in time and money? What you do may be decided by your actual goals too. Have fun y'all. God bless. Those are super cool but those Cadillac 500 engines do not like high rpms and have a crappy oil system that doesn't supply enough oil to the valve train especially under high rpms I've seen mild built Cad 500 engines that lost oil pressure over a few pulls at higher rpms that trashed them you've gotta build the crap outta them to make any kinda of power reliably and even then they just don't hold up to real high rpms over about 5500-6000 if your just gonna have one that's stock just to cruise around with in your Cadillac you can't beat em but they absolutely don't like high rpms repeatedly they might hold up for awhile in stock form at high rpms but eventually their gonna break
