You'll have given your alternator a work out charging the lithium, so little resistance on a lithium battery they can burn out alternators. Check the temperature of that not just the wires if you have to do it again. Think about a spare alternator if you haven't one. Good to see you still cheery and enjoying the travels, keep it up :)

I made the same treck years ago. I played in Prince Rubert for a few weeks and then took the ferry back down to Vancouver. Amazing trip seeing killer whales and eagles. It snowed for several hours during our trip back down through the inner passage. Victoria is great to visit as well. Behind the Parliament building is a great place that serves tea and scones.

I remember I didn’t like Canadian artists like Gordon Lightfoot until we took the ferry. There were two folk singers playing and singing songs inside at the rear of the ship. When I heard them sing I could feel their culture coming through the music they were playing. I’m sure you’ll both agree that learning about their culture through music and art plus meeting the people that you share your experience with will change your life forever. You also enrich their lives as well.

I haven't visited every beach in Canada, but I've been to beaches in B.C. New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and P.E.I. Long Beach on the west coast of the island, which you visited, is easily the nicest beach I've run into in Canada. There's something special about the way the mist comes in and hangs over that beach. There are some beaches in Oregon that are similar, but much busier of course.

Okay... I just thought of a fantastic way to make money on your journey. Mahtilde NEEDS to become a voice over actor. She's superb and I find myself enjoying her narration. And, if you can't grt a gig with Hollywood studios, then make your own animated series! You could call it Mathilde and the Albatross: Meridian Travels w/Jake.

You should definitely add an isolator between the wires you just installed. They are a game changer. When the engine is on, it opens up the secondary battery to engine. But when you shut off the engine, the isolator separates the secondary battery from the main. They’re a bit pricey, $200 US but well worth it.
@ryanDogAdventure2 жыл бұрын
@Jim Allen isolator. A Separator, the ones I’ve seen, or more manual. Where isolators are automatic. Most RV’s use them.

So glad you made it to Vancouver Island but you would have enjoyed Haida Gwaii too! Just so you know, the locals don't control Google Maps. I live in a city of over a million people called Calgary, Alberta. Google Maps takes me to the wrong place on a regular basis. You can buy a map book at the gas stations called Backroads of BC and it gives an amazing amount of information on free remote campsites, beaches, hiking trails and old logging roads. They sell for under $30 CAD. Happy Trails to you!

Thank you Fuad. We left with our savings from work. We saved for three years quite strictly. We sold all our belongings and left. Now we are getting a bit of money from KZbin or magazines we work for but that is not at all enough to sustain the trip. We also try to live cheap on the road
@Muppet_Interfector2 жыл бұрын
I hope you don’t burn your alternator. Lithium battery impedance is so low that they will take all the current the alternator can produce. Yachts that charge Lithium batteries with an engine powered alternator use a temperature controlled alternator to prevent cooking the alternator.

Count How Many Fingers Between the Horizon and the Sun Measure how many finger widths to reach the sun, and count 15 minutes for each finger. Four fingers = 1 hour, 3 fingers = 45 minutes, you get it. If it's more than an hour before sunset, you'll need to use both hands.
