We take my 2JZ-GTE "Factory Stock Look" 1985 Toyota Supra To the "Pure Function Annual Supra and 2JZ Meet in Waynesboro Pa.
Made some new friends and.... earned the best Supra by the host of the show :)

Yes I'm my opinion the 85 with the two rear spoilers is thee or one of the sexiest cars of all fucking time!!! Yes I'd have one over all modern day equalivents ! I owned one back in the day wish i still had all the cars i owned. 87 volkswagon scirocco 85 bmw 635 89 Dodge conquest tsi 85 fiat x1/9 bertone Everyone of them visually blows every modern car away.

That's something very strange with the starter issues, my 89 Ma71 still has it's original starter, never even had a hiccup, nice car btw, love Ma60.

I appreciate all the amazing Supras at the meet, but if I were there, the car I would be MOST excited to see would be your 85 perfection! That particular year was my absolute favorite car and I always wanted one. The hand-held seat bolster pump is such an Italian type feature. I LOVE THAT CAR! 🫶

I really love the mk2 build it's definitely one of the cleanest 2jz swaps I've ever seen. I just acquired a 1984 supra auto in maroon with a clean leather matching interior and a sunroof. I'm strongly considering doing the same swap a clean factory looking 2jz auto as a weekend toy build but have no experience once so ever doing a swap, and don't know where to start with a build like that. Is it possible if you can do a in depth walk around on the build just so I and others interested can have an idea on how to go about it, I would strongly appreciate it. Keep up the good work and once again love the build 🤙

Nice build. I’ve owned 3 P-Types, an ‘84, an ‘85 and an ‘86 (with the third brake light in the wing). My folks still have an ‘85 P-type that we bought in ‘87 when I was in high school that dad has been slowly getting back to driving condition. I really miss these cars and something about them make me nostalgic for simpler times. Great looking Supra and thanks for the awesome Supra show coverage!

@@elardramirez4132 Very little, the ‘84 had only the upper wing/sunshade but the ‘85 and ‘86 had the full wing that went around the perimeter of the hatch and made it a little heavier then the ‘86 had the same wing but now had the high mount 3rd brake light.

Your car is really clean. I still regret the day, many years ago, when I mounted my spare tire and drove on it. 84 Supra with the original spare alloy and it's original BF Goodrich tire. It had never even been mounted.

If I was a BMW guy...I would buy an older 90's era 3 Series and swap the engine from the Supra into that. That would be super cool, and fricken fast. I would do the auto swap, same as my MK2 cause I retired from manuals after 35 years, and want the smooth shifting ride.

82 and 83 had a small supra sticker on the right rear of the hatch. The 84 and 85 has the full billboard across the back hatch.

OMG I miss these 2 of 1984 Toyota Supra and Celica GT since I was 4 year old after 1992 Toyota was gone trade to Acura Vigor until 2001 back again Toyota minivan and then 2011 Toyota Sienna LE rest of my life now 2023 my Toyota Sienna is now 12 year old with 318k mileage 😂😂😂😂 I still love it. Of course I have a lot maintenance repair. I don't have to worry about that 😂😂😂😂. Right now I am 43 year old way back in 1984 😂😂😂😂

The trans used is the one that comes with the 2JZGTE. Since the car is automatic..the stock lsd diff holds up just fine. The stock MK2 axles are pretty beefy from the factory too.

The car was $4,500....The engine was $3,500 and about $3,000 in parts to finish it. These prices are from 2017. Now...this swap would cost double to build in 2023.
