Wrap the cord the other way round so it rolls up on the outside, that way it won’t catch anything on the way up or down. See if you can get hold of a boat winch so you can crank the handle and make it a lot easier, it’ll also lock in place when it’s up.

Great concept to reality. If you have problem with it removing parts from the shelf. Have it roll up to the outside instead of the inside. Then it won't be able to grab things as it rolls down.

Hey guys after having built one of those a long time ago I learned that you should roll it up from the front not the back, You will destroy your banner in short order. I put a wheel chair loading winch on mine and I used it almost daily, but after I started rolling it from the front there was no more damage. Any worm drive type of winch will work fine and with the worm drive it stays where ever you stop it. Just sayin I don't want to be called a know it all, just trying to help with a lesson I learned the hard way.

Like the idea. I would say make the tube roll up the outside so your not knocking off anything that’s sticking out. Would maybe roll up easier too. A winch would be a good idea too in the future

Cool idea.. It would be less friction (easier to roll) if it rolled up on the front side, rather than the back. Either that or make a z-rig to over come the weight/friction issue.

I feel like Chris is this Mr. Miyagi guy who knows how to do all this stuff and no one knows why or how he learned it, and Bec is his Daniel who is picking up all of it and will soon be the next Master... I would love to have a video where Chris tell us how he has come about all of this knowledge. I think I know he is a Marine, but surely he didn't learn all of this stuff there. Dude has too much knowledge for the average human...

Great Idea! Anyone know if you can take CJ7 rocker panels and make them work on a CJ5 to get rid of the kind of round hump in the back of the door jam? I think it’ll make it easier for a taller bigger person like myself to get in and out of! I would think you could cut it and weld it In and but the doors would be the next thing! I don’t know if the door is where they’re longer or just made different?

It would maybe go up easier and roll onto the muffler pipe a little better if you wound the rope onto the muffler in the other direction (by other direction I mean...you are right it is difficult to express this in words.. think clockwise versus counter clo0ckwise)If it were wound up the other way the muffler pipe could roll up the vertical surface instead of doing a burnout all the way up and down. On the negative side of this when you let the curtain down it could want to roll down much faster and use more strength to control it's s

Would like the Ford Bronco design team to come sign off on your work. If you believe this Bronco design leads to profitability & less part #’s, please come sign your name under the hood. All Ford had to do was chop 3 feet off the best selling F150, add a cap, 2 door and 4 door, pencil’s down in engineering and sell it. Available in Bronco 150 Available in Bronco 250 & Available in Bronco 350 Raptor with Dana 60’s front and rear. Withe 3 inch ride height, and retractable driver steps stock. And this time Ford, don’t screw up the bump stops for the springs to the rears in distance, add Sumo Springs in the 250/350 version. That is a 2 stage suspension.
