Very interesting and informative as there are variables on ranges i.e. range ball compression versus normal balls which is some 30% different and of course mat versus grass and the lay of the land.

It really has helped got me controlling my distance better! I will be doing more with the quad 🤌🏼

Trackman gapping on the range is more accurate and beneficial to the course.... you do get a truer figure on range and then on course you have to take into account the weather and other different anomalies that come into play and that's the fun part... trying to make adjustments to allow for all these so I would never use a trackman on course 🎊🌟🤩🥳

I recently switched from the Taylormade SIM 2max OS to the Mizuno JPX 921 hot metals and the distance between clubs is substantial. My carry distance with 7 iron with the SIMs was 150 and now with the Mizuno Im at 140 I know the weight in the shafts and lofts has made a huge difference also went from graphite 60 gram senior flex to 115 steel regular. Lofts are a couple degrees weaker with the Mizunos also but I'm hitting the ball straighter and scoring so much better since changing. Went from 12 handicap to 7.7 within a couple of months. Im very happy with the change.

I hit further on the course Gaz , my irons are set at one degree weak , hot a 5 iron 260 at carden last week

I'm finding really hard to govern distance because one minute it's red hot next it's freezing, absolute huge difference in carry from day to day 🤷‍♂️

It's not how far you hit it, but how far you CARRY it. I was full of crap for years believing how far I hit my irons because my approaches would finish on the green, but my home course had no hazards in front of the greens. When I started using those false distances on courses with hazards short, it was eye-opening.
