For our first ever bullet train ride, we decided to book the Nozomi Shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka. This is Japan's fastest bullet train line, and we had a blast experiencing it and reviewing it for you! Our first impressions of Japan's fastest bullet trains is that the ride isn't long enough! We almost regret booking the fastest shinkansen, because we would have loved to be on the bullet train for longer.
Our journey started at Tokyo Station, which is where the Tokyo Metro and Shinkansen lines meet, meaning it is a super busy station! We highly recommend going to the platform a bit early so you can head to the front of the bullet trains and really enjoy these manmade wonders before boarding. Given that this is our bullet train ride in Japan, we are sharing our first impressions and full seat tour with you as we embark on this very fast 500km journey to Osaka.
If you're anything like us, you are strangely interested in what the washroom situation is like on trains. They are so varied around the world, and we were super interested to see what the bullet train washroom would be like given Japan's washrooms are world class. Let's just say, we were not disappointed!
If you are visiting Japan and are wondering how to book a bullet train ride in Japan, we've included information in this video to make sure you can easily book your bullet train ticket yourself. If you have trouble using the official JR website, you can always try Klook instead (which is a bit more foreigner friendly):
We've been on quite a few train rides during our travels, and this is definitely the cleanest and most on-time train that we have ever ridden. If you are traveling to Japan and plan to get the JR Pass to get around, you are in for a treat! The Shinkansen is such an efficient and pleasant experience. Not to mention, it feels like a proper Japanese travel experience all by itself! We think you will find our Shinkansen review video helpful in deciding whether train travel in Japan is right for you :)
If you enjoy our videos and want to give us an extra special thank you, we would love to have you become a channel member! Check out the perks here kzbin.info...

Hey there! We are Nicole and Mico and in March 2021, we quit our jobs, sold our belongings, and began traveling the world! We never thought we'd be making travel vlogs on KZbin, but after realizing that we had a unique opportunity to share our adventure and make the world feel more familiar and inviting to anyone watching, we took the leap and picked up the camera! We hope our videos show how wonderful, delicious, and friendly the world can be.

You are referring to a high-speed train that was built using foreign technology in an area that was previously undeveloped. You also mentioned that the initial survey was conducted in Japan for free, and the data was then leaked to China, which is an embarrassing situation.

This video was a very good introduction to Japan's Tokaido Shinkansen. If you miss your Tokaido Shinkansen, you can ride in non-reserved seats (cars 1-3), so use the non-reserved seats on the next Shinkansen. You'll need to get in line early, but there's no additional charge. However, during busy periods such as the year-end and New Year holidays, there will be no unreserved seats.

Suica card can use anywhere bullet train,normal train ,bus , taxi,convenience store, drink bendor machine,restaurant and some supermarket accepting also now… Next time try the Bullet train from Tokyo to Aomori Ken down Hokkaido ( HAYABUSA BULLET TRAIN) for fastest now in Japan. And if you have some company friends you can turn your seat so you guys can front to each other like in dinning table + when you ride in normal train is little bit cheaper than the normal amount…Well hope you enjoy your trip here in Japan and be safe guys!! Kampai 🥂

Thank you so much for introducing Japan's Shinkansen (Japan's bullet train) 😊 I believe that Japan's bullet trains are not only speedy, but also punctual, safe, quiet, and comfortable. Since Japan is not a very large country, Japanese cities have been formed around railway stations throughout the country. Japanese people often use bullet trains between major cities because it is faster to go to the train station than to the airport. However, since airplanes✈️ are faster than bullet trains by air, it is essentially a competition between airline companies and JR companies. In speed, Tohoku Shinkansen Hayabusa is currently running at the fastest speed in Japan at 320 km/h, but it is currently undergoing test runs with the aim of running at over 360 km/h. In Tokaido, Linear Chuo Shinkansen (Japan's maglev train, over 500km/h) construction is also underway. In the Tohoku region of Japan, there is also a unique bullet train called the Mini Shinkansen (towards Yamagata or Akita), so I would like you to visit the Tohoku region someday. The Yamagata Shinkansen is especially unique as it slowly travels from Fukushima through the beautiful mountains and countryside. Yamagata is blessed with great nature and hidden tourist spots, and is highly recommended as it has an abundance of high-quality ramen, beef, soba, rice, imoni soup, edamame, fruits, and sake.

The Shinkansen you all rode on is the latest version of the Tokaido Shinkansen's N700 series, called the "Supreme" version. The maximum speed between Tokyo and Osaka is 275 km/h (170.8 mph). The maximum speed between Osaka and Hakata is 300km/h (186.4mph).
@gallusgallusdomesticus235
@gallusgallusdomesticus235 5 ай бұрын
some corrections: 285km/h between Tokyo and Osaka, and N700S (supreme) is NOT under the N700 series. N700 series only has N700 (N stands for New, while the former one is called 700 series) and minor-updated version N700A (Advanced)

On the front of the Shinkansen, I saw a kingfisher dive into the water without making a splash. I saw those steps leading up to the bullet train, oh no...are there elevators or maybe escalators on a side you might not have seen? I had knee surgery last spring and it's still hard for me to come down steps; going up is no problem but I fear there will be a place where there are only steps. I bought one of those steps to practice going up and down. I plan to go to Osaka and Kyoto from Tokyo, thanks so much for this video because it made tings look easier than I thought.

In-car sales have been abolished, so you now have to buy from vending machines at Tokyo Station, Shin-Osaka Station, etc. (First class = green cars have in-car sales via mobile ordering on smartphones) There are on-board sales for regular cars beyond Shin-Osaka Station. The protrusion under the window with the blinds closed can also be used as an arm rest, but many Japanese people use it to place drinks, etc., in plastic bottles. The latest model, the N700S, was improved by making the protrusion wider to make it easier to place a plastic bottle even when the blinds are closed. On the N700A trains, which account for more than half of the Shinkansen trains, you cannot place a bottle if the blinds are closed, and the outlets are only by the window.

Tokaido-Shinkansen has been in operation for over 50 years and has undergone many improvements. It has contributed to the development of Japan's economy and transportation system, and has also played a significant role in the advancement of railway technology in Japan. The maximum speed of Tokaido-Shinkansen reaches 285 km/h after passing Shin-Yokohama, which is the second station from Tokyo. Tokaido-Shinkansen can operate up to 17 trains per hour, with 12 of them being the express type "Nozomi" that runs between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka in less than 2.5 hours at a frequency of one train every five minutes.

In order to avoid collisions, the arrival and departure of the Shinkansen may be delayed, or in the worst case scenario, a collision with a Shinkansen may occur. In that case, you will have to pay a large amount of compensation.

You have checked by the JR person, you taped in your video. They cross check the seat list with if anyone sitting there or not. So, if you do not purchase the seat reservation, but sitting in the reserved seat, the JR person will tell you as you are mistaking the spot.

Great vid guys, but that's not the "Iconic" bullet train. The original "nose" actually looked like a bullet. It showcased Japan for the 64' Olympics. I rode it as a kid in 72, 73 and 77 and 84 I believe when my mom, who was Japanese, took me to visit my Japanese relatives..she was born during the Great Kanto earthquake of 23' in Osaka....miss you mom!!!!

There is no problem with putting a backpack of this size on the Shinkansen rack. Please do not worry. On the Tokaido Shinkansen and Sanyo Shinkansen, there are dedicated seats with extra-large luggage space for passengers with large suitcases. They are located at the end of the vehicle and must be specified at time of booking. You can choose this when making an online reservation. Other Shinkansen and limited express trains may have a suitcase storage area on board, so please inquire at each JR station individually.

On the Tokaido/Sanyo Shinkansen, you can bring baggage up to a total length and width of 160cm, and baggage exceeding this limit is free at the time of reservation, but if you are not carrying it or are using an unreserved seat, you can bring it in for a fee of $7. . An announcement is necessary, but is it so embarrassing that it's being said that much?
