Making the thumbnail to make this look like an LTT thumbnail is top drawer click baiting. Well done.

100% why I clicked, although I thought the title was strange for an LTT video 😂

You can reuse zip ties just stick a flat screwdriver in and lightly pry the locking mechanism back and pull it back out.

Thanks for the demonstration, especially on how to use the power brick holder. 4:25 I just bought the "MCM Arch Room Solution" with the 50 pack velcro strips, but it will take like an extra week for them to ship out. It's pretty hard to find an outside KZbinr demonstrating these things without KZbin search immediately recommend the original LTT channel first.

I think the power supply issue had more to do with the cheap power supply having terrible tolerances. You should have checked if a normal screw was any better

I ended up picking up the whole room kit with the stream deck mk2 on their black friday sale. Was looking at getting a stream deck anyways, so with the price they've got on (229.99 USD) I'd say it's a decent deal. Definitely going to take a while to be shipped over here to the UK though.

you can actually reuse standard cable ties. there’s a little tab you need to depress that allows the cable tie to pull out.

With the speaker cable thing, if you are using XLR, or any other balanced connection, you really shouldn't get hiss from your speakers.

@daelitehbh514 of course it's underwhelming, it's cable management stuff lmao. If it was in a bigger box it would cost more to ship and would just be wasteful.

Should of made a cable umbilical cord, that way, when you go up and down, the cables are free to follow. Also best to cable manage when the desk is at your highest you want

I bought the "MCM Arch Home Solution" package, and i probably used like 5% for my PC (the rest will be used for my UDM/etc networking). Imo it is kinda annoying how much packaging there is, i understand they probably just grab all the items and put them together, but it's quite shocking if you see a picture of the the home solution's packaging.

This video is great! I don't know why people are complaining. 1. They mentioned what they are using it for and does it work for there use case. 2. Are there alternatives and if someone else has tried it as well. I think the video is great cause they show there use case and if it solves their problem.

Hmm that sheet towards the end of the video doesn’t seem right. It mentions that’s is stainless, which can’t be used in this application as stainless steel is non-ferrous/non magnetic due to the lack of iron compounds in the steel.
@mldragon
@mldragon Ай бұрын
That depends on the stainless steel used. There are a few, for instance ferritic stainless steel, which are magnetic.
@Connor-s1k
@Connor-s1k Ай бұрын
@@mldragon exactly, most cutlery is magnetic (attracted to magnets anyway) and is stainless steel. Some of mine are actually magnetic themselves after showing by daughter how to magnetise things and she went and did most of the knives 😅

Did I miss it again? Where is the on/off? If all the cables and connectors are in the cable management tray out of the way under your desk, how do you turn everything on and off? Do you have to crawl under your desk, reach into the cable management tray and switch on your power supply multi plug outlet thingy? Maybe....the power supply multi plug outlet thingy power line goes out to a second power supply multi plug outlet thingy? And you switch that on/off to turn everything on and off? But how do you hide that?
@smashed_penguin
@smashed_penguin Ай бұрын
What exactly needs to be turned on/off?
@wakuyanow
@wakuyanow Ай бұрын
@@smashed_penguin Thank you for the reply. I think the cable management in this video is beautiful and clean. I just can't understand how you turn the computer and everything attached to it off and on. For example, I have a multi plug (actually two) on my desk that everything is plugged in to. If I were to put my multi plug under my desk in a management tray, I wouldn't be able to easily reach the switch to turn "it" off an on. Being unable to reach the multi plug, I guess I could just leave it in the on position and then just plug and unplug the cable from the wall socket. Or, I could plug the cable into another more accessible multi plug that has a switch. But where do I put that so it looks clean? Did I miss that? Maybe that's how it is done. I'm a little dense about some things. I can't wrap my mind around it. I've watched all these cable management videos, and I can never see where and how they easily turn everything off and on.
@smashed_penguin
@smashed_penguin Ай бұрын
@wakuyanow When you turn off the computer your display will go into a standby mode using only a small amount of power to detect when there's a video signal to turn on again, and the speakers will also only use a a small amount of power when they aren't outputting any sound, the audio interface is probably powered by usb so that goes off when you turn the computer off and the height adjustable desk again is something that's only going using a very tiny amount of power when it isn't actively moving. Nothing needs to be turned off individually or together unless you're really conservative with your electricity usage in which case you probably wouldn't own any of these things to begin with.

Just a note, you need to be careful with winding up power leads as they build up heat and can be a hazard.
@coffeedudeguy
@coffeedudeguy Ай бұрын
Yup, especially if they are wound up in a coil. I normally fold main power cables in a zigzag strip lengthwise, as long as physically possible based on cable length

The majority of this has been around for ages I 3D printed a bunch of clips, just like these years ago and embedded magnets in them, just a random file from thingiverse. For the price they're charging you could buy a 3D printer and make these yourself and at the end of it have both tidy cables and a 3D printer.

then this isnt for you. neither LTT or TechFlog have siad this is for everyone. if you want to make a similar product yourself then go ahead. but many people dont have a printer or the time to make this stuff themselves.

Horrible video. Dude just spent 9 minutes sticking magnets to metal. It's like he thinks that we've never seen somebody stick a magnet to metal. I would have very much like to see a more in-depth review instead of dude just demonstrating how magnets work. I guess this guy thinks the product isn't self explanatory. I definitely think it is. As long as the shapes that they created can actually trap cables and are not open shapes like a horseshoe I think the world would gain no benefit from this review and just the negitive because people wasted time watching it.
@mldragon
@mldragon Ай бұрын
It seems like you've missed the point of this video and perhaps even this channel if it's your first time watching. It's about showing the products capabilities and possible flaws for the general viewers use case. There is no need to go in-depth on a piece of plastic with magnets. If he did the video would be a lot longer and had included ridiculous strenght testing and irrelevant information concerning the used materials and environmental impact. While that may be more up your alley, content wise, it's not what most consumers are concerned with when looking for cable management options. They just want to see the product in action.
