We Tuned my Subaru WRX STI to be the perfect Street Car!

I have a 13 STI, and get right around 400hp, 390.15hp/ 332.41ft/lbs on the mustang. I have to say the Tomei equal length, Grimmspeed bb500, IBR flex fuel, IAG 550 short block, and GFB hybrid bpv sound amazing. Probablly also helps it was JR Tuned, by Shift Fast in SC.

In the UK we bolt Detonation cans to the inlet manifold to listen to Det since the knock sensor/ecu isn't reliable, you won't find one pro tuner in the uk that doesn't use them on subarus, so my question is how does he know it isn't detting when it can be detting its tits off and the factory ecu mostly can't hear it.....

By using the knock sensor, older cars we put new knock sensors on and they’ve always been a reliable source for knock control. There is also inherent risk with pushing a factory engine. For me I don’t mind the risk. For someone who wants a ton of miles on their set up they will most likely keep it more tame and within bounds of limits.

Can say i was confused for a good portion of the video tryna figure out what power measurements you were using (i was listening while eating lunch). Good thing you put it on screen after finishing with the Petrol pulls😅 Later this year I'll be doing a TD05 swap on my Ralliart and be pushing for 210Kw at the wheels (AWD) of 98octane petrol. Undecided if ill also get a flex fuel set up too, seeing that'll be extra money.

@@Smeedia yeah it's a bit confusing with power measurements at times 😂 here in Australia i think they use HP and Torque for new car advertisements, the 'stage tune' peeps if they say numbers use HP, where the Car enthusiasts use KW/TQ + WKW/WTQ Nah 98octane (RON) here in Australia ain't the 98 your referring to, our 98 is your 93 i think. Only thing we have that's higher is 105/E85 but that's rare to find.

Past 400hp to the wheels my car is almost unusable on the streets. But in my belief any subie that makes 400+hp deserves a cage for sure, these cars are very capable, that’s actually what got me into Subaru was the rumble#1 and #2 was my co worker said his wrx made 381 on the dyno, I said Bull shit, he took me to lunch and when we did a 4 wheel burnout into the gymkhana to lunch I was convinced 373ftlbs of torque, I soon there after graduating college bought a Subaru, 14 years ago. Same car is on the road, 22 motors, and still going, I just keep modernizing it with new platforms as they become available and timing of course. I’d like to get the fa24 in it, maybe, the old ej257 seams to be pretty reliable especially on e 85. And I mix one or 2 gallons in my fill up of race gas since we have a station that pumps race gas for the sand dune warriors. Convenient.

Hahaha, Mazda had a recall due to spiders going for the smell of gas. They would build webs in in piping. Toyota had a recall for spiders building webs in the AC condensers too 😅

Just sent my Wrx to the dealership. They are telling me I have 0 compression in cylinder 1 and want to charge me 15k. Should I just get a short block and do it myself or pay them 1500 to tear it down and tell me exactly what’s wrong with it? Plz help

IF it were me, I would bring it back and start tearing it down. If it had no compression it’s either rings are gone, pistons broken, head gaskets gone gone or bent or broken valves

Bump base pressure by adjusting your FPR, you run the risk of hitting the pump relief though. If you have a big enough pump you can do it. Your tuner won’t like it though 😅
