In Malaysia, good morning is selamat pagi. Your selamat siang is not wrong technically, but siang is more like day time than morning. Something like, its 'day time = siang hari' where the day here is referring to the time of the day (day time/night time) as opposed to literally, day and 'good morning is selamat pagi"
@drtraveljsy Жыл бұрын
yes you are right. Malay language is a bit specific on how we describe things. The use of 'pagi,' instead of 'siang'. or 'in malaysia' we use 'di Malaysia' instead of 'dalam Malaysia' e.g. 'Saya tinggal di Malaysia' (I live in Malaysia). I think it is the easiest language to learn with no tenses (past, present or future), very non-binary (no he/she) and with simple language structures. Im sure a lot of Malay linguists here agree with me. Anyway, I really enjoy your vlogs, very different i.e. from your own perspectives as travellers (I'm not using the word 'tourists' because you are not! :)
