210 miles across the state of Michigan (Coast 2 Coast). In torrential rain. 56% didn't finish. 18 Hours later I had worn through a brand new chain, Fr brake pads and derailleur pulleys.

These are a great series of videos, in fact most of your videos I've really enjoyed. Feels like you're normal people not some pro riders. I can't see the video about the bikes you saw on this event? Looking forward t more videos from the three of you 😁

I’m a fan of this format. My closest gravel fondo does it with strava segment competition.

Why are you carrying so much bag bikes?

So that if they crash they can camp alongside the trails while they wait for the ambulance to (try to) get there…

Because gravel. But mostly because we had to carry our filming equipment and extra layers to keep comfortable. Thanks for watching!

MTB all the way! Gravel bikes are so sketchy for this type of terrain.

Few years back this would be considered maybe an xc marathon like race

Yes, mtb would make more sense, but drop bar bikes are more in keeping with the spirit of the event.
