I wonder where all that trash came from. This is obviously an abandoned house, so I wonder if the neighbors weren't using it as a garbage dump. Whatever the reason it got so bad, you guy did a GREAT job cleaning it up. I love watching you two. Just reclaiming the sidewalk from under all that dirt would made a HUGE difference. I volunteer in my city picking up trash there are people that do illegal dumping. I noticed it seemed like there was a small microwave oven. Sometimes there's trash that doesn't fit in the city containers & people throw extra bags at abandoned properties. Some people just throw trash where ever they can, sad!

Thx for all the cleaning. That’s how they do in India, if a building becomes derelict everyone throws garbage on the site and turns it into a dump. Luckily, this neighborhood had two heroes come to the rescue! Great transformation. I’m sure they all thank you.

My guess is that squatters took over the property for awhile and when it got too filthy for them, they picked up and moved to the next abandoned house with a yard they could hide in because it wasn't being tended to. Look at the height of those weeds, etc. It would provide cover for people "camping" on the property. It also looks like some illegal dumping was going on (was that a microwave?) rather than recycling it properly by taking it to the dump (or whatever the local provisions for electric appliances are regarding disposal). Certainly looks SO much better after you two cleaned it up. You're a great team, like a well-oiled machine working in perfect sync!

Great job, guys! It's really amazing that the city or county allows properties to get this out of hand. Yeah, I get it, it's the property owner's responsibility but then after exhausting the process with the property owner the city or county needs to step in before it gets out of hand. If the house isn't fit for occupancy, the city or county needs to demolish the house rather than it becoming an eye-sore or hazard to the neighborhood. These properties are ultimately a lost opportunity to provide affordable housing to families in need. A little investment from local businesses, the city and county can go a long way.
