Her fruit could have similar effect to that of sugar's fruit on her body. She stopped aging when she ate the fruit and gained the power to change her age accordingly. But when she's not using her fruit she would revert back to the age she ate her fruit.

That’s what i was thinking. Could be that her fruit stops all natural aging processes. So She’s stuck in what ever body she had when she ate it, however the fruit does allow you to manually age up at your own discretion, maybe even based of the ideas a child would imagine they would be “when they grow up”. How many kids say things like “I wanna be an astronaut, I wanna be a fireman, I wanna be a poliCe office, i wanna be a teacher, i wanna work at the zoo, etc… children fantasy what they would imagine their futures to be, I think that’s the true extent of her abilities.

The way she complimented Sanji might be a tell that she's not a child. Although I have my own theory about that. I don't think she was hitting on him. I think she's just fangirling over the straw hats in general. She probably saw nothing happen in the memory bubble, and so sees what her father sacrificed his life to preserve. His hope was the straw hats. So she's probably been complimenting the straw hats all morning after she stopped crying, and that's why Luffy reacted the way he did.

Sea water does not disable your devil fruit. It just makes you immobil. Seastone handcuffs more or less disable the power though but the inconsistency there is that they have been used on Brook.

Being submerged in water doesn't deactivate Devil Fruits. Like that time in Arlong Park where Luffy was stuck underwater and the only way for him to get air was for people to stretch his head out of the water. So Bonney could have just been in child form when she got attacked.

Another theory I’ve read is that for Egghead seraphim kuma will enter the Memory bubble and essentially bring Kuma “back to life” and Bonnie will use her powers to age him up. However, as a parallel to Egghead Kuma will send the sunny with all the straw hats and one (or more) vegapunks away to Elbaf using green blood saved by VP to use his paw paw fruit. The inverse being this time the crew is all together. The other inverse being that Kuma will say you’ll never see me again but this time it is to Bonnie not luffy

The only problem I have with that is it leaves the original Kuma as a loose end. VP said Kuma can’t be fixed, but I’m not so sure. If Bonny can access alternate realities when changing someone’s age it should be possible to alter Kuma to a reality where he isn’t a cyborg. It may require the awakening of her DF, but I think her saving Kuma herself makes sense at this point. Especially because saving him has been a key point for a while now and the information he has is likely very valuable

The thing that stood out to me recently was Bonney pointing out that Atlas wasn't VegaPunk when they met. So the satellites don't seem to have been around when she was there as a younger Bonney thing. She mentions it was a smaller lab the last time she visited. So with so many things that show she's been around a while, I'm interested to see where it goes with all the thoughts and evidence that she's actually much older or younger. A very well done mystery by Oda.

This reminds me that Oda also did something similar to Stussy when he stated that her age was “Secret” which was a hit to her being a clone - I think that she isn’t a child because if you notice that in that image of her as a child being hold by her father Kuma doesn’t have the bear ears like in the flashback image of when he was talking to Vegapunk about the soul, so that might be when he didn’t have his fruit & was maybe when he was a king right before he was called a tyrant

Yep. Youngest she can possibly be is 17 because Kuma didn’t have his DF when raising her, but did when Sabo was 10 in the revolutionary army. She’s 5-7 in the picture so assuming Kuma got his DF shortly after she’s 17-19, likely 19 as it would make her the same age as Luffy

On that point about the gems, I think destroying them could actually be a permanent way of reducing a character's age. They're essentially a person's crystallized age after all. Bonney said her fruit powers were temporary on living things to Vegapunk and proceeded to not destroy the crystals because if she still needed him he wouldn't really be useful in that child body. Granted she could just age him up again but that would more likely be temporary without exception/

Is it possible that Bonnie's behavior to some extent can be explained by her devil fruit? Like, she's prone to acting like she's in all age groups at once, to sone extent. She's very easily distracted like a child, she can be moody and scarf down food like a teenager, she has the attitude of an adult with the way she's trying to take responsibility and save her father, and she often comes across like an angry ild person as well. It's possible that her powers have influence over her personality because if the specific way her powers alter her body IMO. This is just a theory though.

Not necessarily, Luffy’s fruit is unique in that it permanently turns the body to rubber which is more like a Paramecia than a typical Zoan. With Ace and Luffy we saw that they couldn’t use their powers anymore, but we haven’t seen him use it on a standard Zoan. Like for Example would Chopper turn into a reindeer or just not be able to change forms. Also would he still be able to talk. That’s the test we need to confirm exactly how far the negation goes

Bonnie can’t be a kid because we see her being raised by Kuma before he got his DF and she looks to be about the same age as Luffy when he got his DF, so 7 maybe a year or two younger at most. Then later when Sabo joins the revolutionary army at 10 we see Kuma does have his DF. So unless Kuma got his DF shortly after, the youngest Bonny can be post time skip is 17. If she was 7 in the flash back with Kuma then she would be 19 the same age as Luffy As for her attitude pre and post time skip, it makes perfect sense that if she was being used as incentive against Kuma she would want to avoid an incident with the celestial dragons and Navy. Plus her child like attitude is likely the result of losing her father at a young age and having no responsible adults in her life. Luffy grew up in a similar way with Dadan and Garp not really being responsible adults

The thing that I find weirdest about Bonney is that we don’t actually know exactly what her devil fruit is as far as I know, at least when it comes to the name. I could totally see her fruit being the important thing and oda just using her age as a red herring to throw people off. Another possibility: could Bonney actually have eaten the toki-toki no mi, and Toki’s time traveling abilities were actually the awakened form of the fruit? I feel like that could make a lot of sense as well because of the fact that Toki was fleeing from something when she started traveling through time, and awakenings seem to happen when you’re pushed to your absolute limits, and running for your life would probably do that

Personally, I believe that Bonney is in her 20s. While there's a lot of circumstancial evidence that she's a child originally, I always believed her to be a young adult that acts like a child. Her DF may be one that simply locks her in whatever form (young or old) she is at the current time. So throwing her into the sea wouldn't nullify her powers if she had activated them prior, and she has commented that her fruit only lasts for a limited time on people and animals (example, Chopper). So, yeah, I do believe her to be a childish woman rather than a child pretending to be a adult.

Kuma had her most probably before joining the revolutionaries (based on how he looked in the flashback/memories). When sabo joined the revolutionaries Kuma was in it and looked like how we know him. So Bonney is either the same age or older than Luffy.

If JB IS a kid, we will never be told. We may be outright lied to or Oda will flat out change his plans to make her an adult. His mentor showed him what lies down that particular road, so hopefully, and likely Bonney will not end up a cannonical child given how sexuallized she already is.

what if she is a kid… but like only because of her fruit. What if when she ate the fruit, she got stuck at her original (Current) age, never aging in a natural way. The only way she can age up is through her fruit. That could in a sense explain how she could still be a child… but still have like 24 years of experience. Similar to how the Hobi Hobi No mi effected sugar, Sugar is a child that is technically an adult being 22 years old at the time we see her.

Here's a little theory of mine regarding Bonneys DF-Powers. Maybe she can't age people but is able to replace current version of items and or people with a version of another timeline. Meaning whenever we see her in her "adult-form" it's her "future form" and when we see her as a child she is literally a child because it's the version of Bonney from about two decades ago. That would explain why luffy was replaced with his "bad timeline" form because she pulled that luffy right out of a timeline where everything went wrong. I think her powers allow her to access versions of people or objects as they have been or will be at any point of there existence. So she can basically replace the version of someone or something currently existing in that point of time with the version of that object or person or object from any other point in time of their whole existence. So basically the rules of time doesn't matter to her. If you have trouble visualising what I mean, think of a video sequence in a video editing software. You take one specific part of the video out and replace that part with a part of the video from anywhere else within that video. And then think of putting another video in another video track below that one and cutting out a part from anywhere in one video and replacing it with a port from anywhere of the Second video. That's her twisted timeline for example bad timeline luffy. I'm sry if my explanation is a bit weird, English is not my first language. My English isn't bad but I'm sure I could explain such a difficult topic better in my native language of German 😅 I hope the explanation of my theory is less confusing to you as it sounds to me. 2 part idea: One: Bonney's fruit locks her age to when she ate it. Two: What if bonney's capable of adjusting mental ages as well as physical ages. Thats what the gems of experience is. Bonney sent vegapunk back not just physically but mentaly. This would make sense as what makes vegapunk a threat is his mind, not his body, but with jinbei she didn't bother with his mind because ageing his body back would be enough.
