Sometimes I’m cranky and just need a nap too. Or ice cream. Lol. We did a trip to the redwoods a few years ago and loved it. Great video. I really appreciate the family footage you put into these videos.

To be fair, I'm also cranky a lot of the time! Yeah the redwoods are a great place to take the kids. I'm sure I'll be taking him back when he's a little older.

So beautiful. When I watch your videos the world falls away. They’re always too short and leaving me wanting more. I teach preschool and love your son joining you, he’s such an easy going toddler, learning so much about the world already ❤

All these years following nomads and I never heard about hip camp. Amazing and some within 10 miles of me here in nomad wasteland South Carolina. Nice to see a wife. That sealed my subscribing.

Another great video, Rob! Just love how you are taking your son everywhere... I did the same with mine. So much to see out there, and you and your awesome ability to capture the beauty of outdoors is just awe inspiring. Youre hitting a lit if the area my wife and i nust hit a few weeks ago. If you're still in the area for a while drop me a line, would love to meet up for a trail or something!!!

When you mentioned having trouble camping, my first thought was “try Hipcamp” cause there are a *ton* in California, esp Northern. I’m happy it worked out for you! If you have any recommended ones near Redwood NP, please share - heading up there!

Yeah I’m glad someone told me about it! I liked the spots we stayed at near the Redwoods area, but felt they were very expensive for what was essentially a field.

At some point, I’d love a long term update on the tundra. Overall ownership impressions and reliability. We all want to know about that 3.4L v6 after so many miles!

I was thinking about doing an update at 100k miles, but that’s probably a way off yet! It’s currently at 71k, and isn’t perfect.

I grew up in Humboldt county, and remember camping in the redwoods as a kid in the 90s. We would just show up to the state park ranger station, and there would be plenty of campsites available. I visited earlier this year and tried to camp. It’s disheartening how impossible it feels to get a site now
@RevereOverland2 ай бұрын
Yeah it’s very busy along the coast. I’m sure there are better times of year to visit though!

dumb question but is your truck short-bed? if so, why did you pick short-bed over the long-bed?
@RevereOverland2 ай бұрын
It is! I've used both a 5.5' and 6.5' AluCab, and while the extra space inside is nice, I didn't feel it was worth the extra challenge of the significantly worse turning circle! That's just personal preference though.

Driving over mountains can hurt sensitive ears. Doesn't have to be an infection. Different people react differently to changing conditions. If your lad has just got over an infection maybe he's extra sensitive to altitude air pressure changes for a while?
@RevereOverland2 ай бұрын
That’s very possible! The hills were only a couple of thousand feet, but he’s young enough that he doesn’t know how to clear his ears when they need to pop!
@broadsword66502 ай бұрын
@@RevereOverland My missus never learned to pop her ears (weird, huh?) and now can't do it. Even driving over relatively small hills can make her feel ill. Flying is a real pain. She uses special earplugs to help reduce the changes in pressure, and they help a little.
