yes! I see it as teaching our kids our values just like anything else we would teach them. As they grow and form their own opinions they will choose what brings them meaning and joy and we have to be OK with that but we can show the reasons and the joy we have in following our values to set examples

I am not muslim, grew up Baha’i but am mostly agnostic now; I love your videos and the opportunity to learn so much more about the muslim faith than I did by just reading the koran. One of the teachings in Baha’i is the necessity of understanding all true religions because they are all the lessons from god sent to guide us. My mom once explained that god has sent 9 prophets so far by comparing them to math class- you don’t teach a 6 yr old algebra, you teach them to count and simple addition. For young me, this made so much sense and encouraged me to read the texts of other faiths carefully. My major takeaway? Fighting over religion is so silly, the primary message has always been the same - love. god loves you, god loves your neighbor, and god expects you to also love them. Not one of the religions i studied actually encouraged violence of any kind or forcing others to believe as you do. they all say the opposite. that long rant(?) was just to say i love learning from you. and i love your adorable energy!

Words are so easily wiped aside when faced with a child that does not wish to conform to their parents religious beliefs especially when it effects a girl born within such a devout Muslim family. The wearing of a full facial hijab reveals this womans strict conformity towards the Islamic Way of Life and I cannot envisage a girl child being allowed freedom of choice or even reverting to another Religious Faith without some sort of pressure being applied. I'm afraid it's just too much for myself to envisage for the Muslims ☪️ are set in their ways especially looking at these two individuals portraying themselves as Liberal minded in their videos. 🤔

@@christinejones826 sister although i understand where you're coming from, but you definitely can have freedom of choice if you live with understanding and compassionate parents (even if your parents are very religious), i've seen it happen multiple times and i live in a muslim country. There are only 2 Muslim countries amongst 50 others that force the hijab and where women are oppressed (wars aside). Of course this does not mean that there aren't any families that force their daughters but that's more of a culture thing than religion. Have you ever been to a Muslim country? You'd be surprised to see just how free the women are there, they can wear whatever they want and they certainly do. There's a verse in the quran that says "there's no compulsion in religion" (Al-Baqara 256) Which means it is strictly forbidden to force anyone into your beliefs no matter what.
@christinejones8262 жыл бұрын
@@alicej- I have read 📚 your sentiments regarding the Muslim ☪️ Country you live in as being tolerant towards the female sex although admitting there are some instances of intolerance. I live in the UK where Muslim ☪️ Males stand in the streets denouncing the female attire of our culture as something immoral which is extremely offensive. Whilst the Muslim women's head to foot covering is seen as the respectable alternative for these men. Rather revealing isn't it that a religious belief is interfering with a country based upon Christianity which allows freedom of choice in clothing. As for the question have I ever visited a Muslim ☪️ Country..NO and have no intention to do so 🤔

" where is your scarf "?! And I wasn't sure if it was a reminder or warning and to honest feel a little pressured because u know in Islam its really permissible for women to cover the hair and according some scholars they say that a woman's hair is a huge sign of attractions to men which is why they women to cover up the hair. But then I think that's when I started realize why mom has been encouraging me and reminding about wearing it and time past I actually didn't feel pressured anymore alhamdulilah.. because little did I know about it that doesn't represent you as muslim woman and that you are obliged to wear it to please Allah.. How do you intend to present religion without an element of fear? Or do you? How was it taught to you? I struggle with religion because for the most part it's taught with a very large element of threat, and on the other side of it, promise of good things if you adhere to the teachings. We have family who are the people children trust and look upon for guidance and literally everything to survive for the first part of their life, teaching them that there's a god that is full of vengeance and wrath who will destroy them (or whatever the threat is, it can just be not getting into paradise..) if they don't adhere to x set of rules, but..adhere to these rules, and you will get all the good and blessings. Children learn this by fear, and pressure, and yes tons of encouragement for all the good they will gain by doing it. The love and acceptance of God, but also the love and acceptance of their families and everyone in the community they're being raised in if they do follow the faith. And the opposite if they do not. As someone raised in an ENTIRELY (you couldn't possibly get further if you tried) Abrahamic religion, I think the only way to do this without manipulation is to completely leave fear out of it, and that pretty much erases most of the texts which Abrahamic religions are based upon. How would you go about teaching your religion without teaching God's wrath, without teaching the concept of not getting into paradise if you sin, of giving a choice to practice hijab? I honestly want to know, because you sound like very nice people who are trying to educate the world about how you live as a veiled woman and interracial couple, and who are trying to do your religion right, but I don't see how you can possibly do what you're saying you intend to, in this video, if you have children. And one word here REALLY underscored this. OBLIGATION. You love the hijab, and want to encourage your child, but won't force, and won't manipulate...yet you said it's YOUR obligation to wear it, so you don't truly believe you have a choice, and how can you truly give a daughter one?

This may be very personal but what is common practice for giving birth? I know you have to have only female doctors but I'd assume that could be different when going to a hospital. Especially since sometimes doctors can't come in or you have multiple people in the room beside the family. If this is too uncomfortable I understand but I really do wonder about it.

I just want to point out that people who think that islam is manipulation believe in whatever their religion is but don't view it as manipulation. And quite a few people I know were manipulated into religion - however, others were encouraged. I no longer am religious because my parents manipulated me into religion, so it's hard to see it any other way. But when you encourage your kids to understand your beliefs... that is much different that forcing them. And that's the difference between manipulated religion and encouraged religion. If you are going to abandon your child if they dont follow your beliefs... then that's manipulation.

What is hijab? I hope you see this and answer me. What is it? Because I'm not Muslim but I'm drawn to the Most High and the desire to cover myself so that I'm not attracting or manipulating, however ignorantly. This is thing: I was picking up food in the drive thru, not sexy in anyway way. I was in my car, my hair was covered but that didn't stop it, I said thank you and the guy was smitten. I saw it and he said so and he was serious. I don't want to have anyone attracted to it lusting after me. I'm a widow and my devotion is to the Most High. I'm not Muslim or Christian but I pursue honoring Him and learning what pleases Him and what doesn't so that I can get closer to Him. I'm only 42. I was widowed at 38 and haven't been touched since. I want to stay His and I want to express that I'm the way I carry myself. You're literally person I know of who may be able to help me. I won't take a lot of time, I just need a little guidance on what this "hijab" means and how to do what you're doing that sounds a lot like what I want to do. Please and thank you. Edited to add: I don't claim anything in terms of religion because I was raised Christian but there's so much it's lacking and I'm finding my way. It's a lonely way to go but it's honest and messy because I don't fit neatly anywhere but when I pray, my Father answers me. Why would I not do all I can to please Him?
