I love Charles and his fighting style and am a huge fan. I am also a huge Islam Makhachev fan and wish them both the best. I just hate how political people make Khabib and any of his peoples fights like Islam. Ever since the Mcgregor fight its like we have to pick a side, which is bullshit. Josh should've really gloated here. He wasn't diplomatic just for the sake of being diplomatic before the fight, he gave his true opinion based on what he had seen. He disregarded all the meaningless "never faced tough competition" argument that John threw at him( and which most UFC fighters had as well). The whole "Islam hasn't fought a top LW" is an incredibly lazy argument that was used to diminish his skill. Islam was asking for those top fights. He had a fight with Beneil, that fell through. He had a fight with RDA, that also fell through. He called out Chandler TO HIS FACE, Chandler gave the most awkward side-step and non-answer in the history of TV. I am pretty sure Islam called out Gaethje too. You can't deny a clearly talented fighter out of a title fight simply because the top guys won't fight him. Poirier's claim to a title fight post Khabib is knocking out a washed up Conor and a mid-fight freak injury. Gaethje's claim to the title fight post-Khabib was by beating Chandler who, if you think about it, has only beaten Dan Hooker is probably 2-3 losses away from getting cut and Tony Fergusson who is clearly way past his prime. All of those guys got a shot, some even twice.
