Exactly this. They’re incredibly mature and you can tell their souls are old. The things they talked about impact my life so greatly also cause in my surroundings we communicate a lot and it’s probably on of the only things that helped me stay alive and especially with my mental illness now with grief and trauma. Communication helps so much for many. I could acknowledge my feelings and cry to remove pain and also to reduce suffering in the long run from bottling up. They really get it. The most interesting is watching the people who are criticizing something that has already happened, is incredible to see how in the video he is talking about really shocking topics and we only look at something that they as mature people and couples have already solved, it distresses me to see how we are beings unable to empathize.

This is truly amazing. 29:20 Shawn is literally expressing Matthew chapter 16 verse 25, "For whoever wills to save his life will lose it and whoever will lose his life for me will find it.” Focusing on something bigger than yourself seems to be the answer to finding life and being okay. 30:04 Shawn sees that self-righteousness (being good at being the good guy) can and usually leads to manipulative behavior. So it's not just about "being good." Proverbs chapter 30 verse 12 "There are those who are clean in their own eyes but are not washed of their filth." (The filth being sinful nature or that "inner darkness" that everyone has.) 30:12 the lady says the solution is to get rid of the ideas of "good guy" and "bad guy" and everyone should just be themselves. But Shawn knows the truth deep down (30:20), that there is a big piece of darkness in us, which the bible calls "sin" or "sinful nature" 30:33 the solution is not to ignore the darkness in us (even by prayer or meditation or religion) Because it will only get stronger. The solution, as Justin baldoni puts it, is to live in the "higher nature" or "in the spirit". Galatians 5:16 "But I say, walk by the Spirit , and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh." But this is the crucial piece that they are missing... We can't do it on our own. I think Shawn realizes this. No one has been able to live as the good guy all the time and it's exhausting to try to find the balance. There is good news though. Someone came to kill that inner darkness, that sinful nature, that lower nature. He lived his entire life in the spirit. He never surrendered to the darkness. He gives us the power to do the same if we put our trust in Him. He literally gives us His Spirit and a promise to never leave us. He took all of our darkness, all of our sin, all of our evil and destroyed it. He can take yours too. His name is Jesus. Shawn, you are soooo close to the truth. It's crazy how God is revealing truth to your heart. I'll be praying for you 🙏🏼

50:32 You hit the nail on the head. Shame silences us, tells us we're not enough, that our voice is not good enough to be heard, that our points aren't valid; but Shame cannot thrive where there's acceptance.

As woman the line in wonder where Shawns says 'I wonder why when I cry into my hands I'm conditioned to feel it make me less than a man." Hit me hard! I was raised by a father that did not want a girl. I wasn't allowed to cry and it has been a very hard, long road letting myself be alright with allowing myself to feel okay with crying. This was a beautiful podcast and definitely gives me hope for the future. These are the types of conversations that need to be had. No judgement, just truth and love and acceptance. Namaste❤

@Shawn Mendes I live now in the northernmost Los Angeles county desert known as the Antelope Valley, famous for its movie cows and cottage once inhabited by Judy Garland. I’ve been a fan only very recently, though I’ve enjoyed your music without being aware it was you. I listened to your interview on the “Man Enough” podcast and checked out your music in a targeted way. I’ve been vigorously vocal ever since. You are changing our world, taking us along with you as you grow. Thank you for sharing your voice, both spiritual and melodic.

I admit I only came here bc of pop news and to see for myself what Shawn had to say about Camila but before watching I looked at the comments and saw that a lot of people were saying how proud they were of Shawn. I’m no podcast watcher but the comments made me want to see for myself what this podcast really had to say. So I tuned in and now I understand why the comments had nothing but nice things to say. Shawn spoke very well in this. I loved listening to what he had to say about being a man and the things he struggles with. There were some things I had no clue about when it came to men and things that I related to when talking about women. Everyone spoke really well and I’m glad I listened. Definitely subbing.

Everyone has their moments, he's a human, he can be angry sometimes, i really love the fact that he accepts his ego, mistakes and learns from them, corrects them and moves on! Proud of camila for telling him and letting him know she's hurting cause that's exactly what she should be doing and it makes their relationship so much healthier. Something I noticed is at 34:52 , Liz - you just made an amazing commentary about society's "setting up each person to fail" within the masculine/feminine ideals and then ended it with "a little bit". Thank you for being my mirror as I recognize many situations where I do this in conversation to not seem TOO assertive as a woman (even though I just made a completely valid point). Amazing conversation. Thank you guys.

I don't know where to start but after seeing this podcast i felt chills on spine...i have this fear people judging me i felt like whenever people see me or acknowledge my presence they are talking about me they are judging me for my type how fat i am or how i am looking or what wearing or how even i walk. And this gave me a social anxiety and fear of people judging me. And stop me out even go out with my family and friends be alone myself and stay in my room. Even i had fear to with my family cause i was that afraid of people judging and telling what to do or not and what should look like and how behave. cause i felt shamed of my self at that point and that what am i doing is wrong and i am not getting their expectations.i am still now afraid of people judging me and metting new people. But i felt something different. Today after listening this i felt myself after so long time. I felt vulnerable and being honest to myself to let my emotions to get me. I felt like crying for hours but not single tear drop off my eyes cause somewhere inside i know this happened to me because I let it happen it happened to me because I let people judgment get me but now i feel shaken up inside and i want be honest and vulnerable person who can show her true self and do whatever she wants to and be a good person a good woman not girl who felt insecure about herself. Now i will out and tell the world who i am and be the person i am. And show the world that i can be anything i want and can do anything. And be a brave enough to be right for myself. Thank you so much for this. i just came to see shawn and got truth of my life and get know what kind of person i should be. Thank you so much for making me realise my vulnerable side and show me side i am most afraid of. I can't say enough Thank you to you guys. After long time i feel like feeling being me and my true self. Thank you Thank you Thank you. I love you for showing my true self. Thank you.

I’m happy to see you coming to faith Shawn! It’s seems as though you are knocking on the door of the father and I hope this verse finds you well: Ephesians 4:13-15 Until we all reach the unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants tossed back and forth by the waves and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. God bless you Shawn!!

Your mission on this planet it’s to write songs that inspire people and being the light to this planet. It doesn’t matter our society and how we wish that to change because we have no control over it. The only control we have it’s creating something that inspire people and maybe one day the new generation will have a different perspective and things will change slowly. The old mind sets and beliefs will change.
