I've had Husky liners in all my vehicles for years. For the price, you can't beat them. On my WJ, I tucked the outer edge under the rocker moulding - works good. The inside edge I velco'ed in place.

Yeah I'll have to give something like that a try I might even get out the heat gun and see if I can reform them a little bit so they lay the way I like them to.

Husky front, and weathertech rear. Thanks for the video... I think you're the only person that I've seen do a molded mats for the WJ. 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👍👍👍👍👍

That is exactly what I was going to write! Glad I read your reply. Be redundantly commenting! Only addition I have is to see if a strip of velcro or if the sill guard lip would hold the loose edge of the mat? Thanks again Martin! I'm still waiting for you & I to produce the war wagon vid....

Your video helped me to make the decision on which way to go. Thank you! You didn't talk about trimming that rear driver's side mat on the Husky, but it looks like you trimmed yours some. And frankly, I don't see how to avoid making the cut. The passenger side lays down perfectly,,,,I just don't get why they didn't form the drivers side the same way.
@martinbuilt4 жыл бұрын
Glad I could help, but I didn't do any trimming.

@@martinbuilt I looked at it again and compared the camera angle in your video at 6:14 against the rear mat photo image Husky has on their site currently. Husky has clearly changed the way they make those rear liners and in fact provides instructions in the box on how to trim them if you have power seats which most JGCs have. I plan to use your shot at 6:14 as a potential guide on how to trim them vs what they suggest. They will not lay down on the drivers side out of the box anymore, or at least I can't get them too.

Was considering weather tech but I think I like the rugged ridge ones better, and best of all I can get them with a jeep logo😁

I had the Huskys in my.last Dodge Challenger,had had Weathertechs in previous ones.I prefer the Huskys for the same reason as you,they cover more,especially that dead pedal area and the front and rear set were less expensuve than just the front Weathertechs.Getting ready to order them for my shortbed 03 Dakota.

I know this is old, but in my King Ranch F450, I use a heat gun to keep my Husky’s under control, they try to roll on the edges
@martinbuilt3 жыл бұрын
I ended up doing the same and then designed to replace them with OEM carpet mates. I think those look better for this style of Jeep.

@@martinbuilt I noticed Lloyds makes a really sharp carpet trunk liner that’s embroidered.

I just ordered about $600 worth of weathertech stuff for a 19 limited i havent even picked up yet. They have a new style floor mat for the front that actually covers part of the door sills now. Bought the front / rear / cargo liner / cup holder inserts / phone mount / and the visors. I had weathertech stuff on my last car and have zero complaints. I’m also willing to pay a little more for the fact they are made in the USA. I’m thinking about buying one the full cargo area covers off amazon to protect the sides of cargo area and the back of the rear seats - since i do have a dog and seem to always have something sitting around in the back of my cars.

I like my Huskys, the only problem I have with them is my driving foot has worn a hole where the heel rests. Husky wants me to send them back for inspection to determine whether its a defect in workmanship or normal wear and tear. It's going to cost me 85 dollars to send them back and I know their going to say wear and tear. I think the spot where the hole is should have been designed with thicker material in that area. A few bucks and a tire patch kit might work
@martinbuilt4 жыл бұрын
I surprised as they are that it would wear through. Looks like you'll be patching, maybe a plastic welder might do the trick.

Ive had weathertech and rugged ridge and i believe i prefer rugged ridge. The weathertech is really nice but theres no deep ridges so mud and water just smeers and makes them very slick. Rugged ridge have very deep ridges and divert the mud and water below your shoes. Also the rugged ridge is much cheaper.

I like my weather tech. My place is maybe 15 feet or so to from a mountain creek. So pebble filled or just mud. I just pull'em out and dump or wash so it's pretty.

Yeah my mom recently purchased weathertech for her Subaru and I was disappointed with how thin they were for the price you pay. I'll definitely be taking a look at husky in the future for my jeeps. Good video!

You could probably get a much better fit by using a heat gun or a very hot hair dryer it will soften the material and lean something heavy on it till it cools
@danhambrick63316 жыл бұрын
You would think for that kind of money they would fit a little better and mabey make them a little thicker too
@jdm67676 жыл бұрын
Thanks Martin! What about the cargo area mats? I like the look of the weathertech, but the size, the carpet cleats and no hole on the driver side mat the husky offers. Can they be tucked under the door floor molding to get rid of the gap?
@Tiktalkrandom6 жыл бұрын
I thought about the same thing with the tuck!, and that you brought up the cargo area.

Hey Martin Thanks for another video. I have to admit I’m glad I don’t really need those kinds of floor mats since I’m nowhere near snow country. I agree with you about the looks of the diamond 💎 design, for a Grand Cherokee. I think more suited for bigger truck. I did find a custom fit cargo area cover to protect the back, it’s diamond 💎 design, but I don’t have to look at it. It cost about $87.00 Outland was the brand. The name plate fell off at one point and I would rate it as so so.

Hey I got a brake pad question...when I replaced the front pads on a Toyota Camry 2013, there's a slight squeal when going in reverse...any thoughts? I'm thinking a small metal could not be set right in the mounting mechanism...

Well since WeatherTech only does stuff for "newer" cars real JEEP people that have multiple JEEPs, and not just "the new ones", it can only be Husky. Their Liners are in 5 out of 8 of mine. No real decision to make at all.
