My gloves are rubberized. That way I can grab my briskets and butts when they hit 165. They’re very stiff. I once was a qualified welder using oxy acetylene. Those leather welding gloves are just right for over the coals and I think they’re the same as the Weber brand. I’ve never used the soft gloves but I’ll be glad to give them a try.

Hi Geoff, I do feel the leather gloves are more suited to a charcoal grill, however they were a much appreciated gift. Who knows one day I might swap for that real smokey flavour. Cheers.

@@BBQWalkofFlame I wouldn’t be too quick to diversify. A lot of guys add bbqs to their arsenal as though they were classic cars in their garages. Then they go into museum mode where they have them but don’t use them. I have 5 units but only use two. You’re a pro at the Q! Charcoal is fun but it’s also messy and the heat control can be a bugger. Just sayin!

Thanks for the advice Geoff, you have brought back memories of the time when I did have a charcoal grill, after a barbecue everyones eaten, when it cool's I'll clean it down, a few drinks later, I'll do it in the morning. Over night it's been blowing a gale, ash all over the patio because I forgot to put the lid on a greasy grill. Just been watching the news on TV it looks like CA isn't enjoying BBQ weather at the moment.

Hi Antonio, lucky you, if I'm lucky I have another 8 weeks to go before I can get my Weber Q out of the garage, if my memory serves me well back in 2018 The Beast from the East paid a visit to the UK, from the end of February well into March temperatures minus 14c, that year it was April before I could even think about it.
