Wedding Dress Hem Alterations **huge repair**

This gorgeous wedding dress had horsehair embedded bottom, the client desired a train so a high-low style alteration had to be done in the exact order the dress was made. First the careful measuring and marking on dress, then the horsehair removal, then the combination of the horsehair and the interface, finally sewing the structure to the dress and ironing to create a fold. The alterations were a success after lots of careful detailing.

This video is a life saver for me! I am doing the same hem alteration to a wedding dress for a family friend and I googled to find out how to do it with that webbing. What is the name of the pen you used to mark the dress. Also you marked, with pins, the wedding dress at the hem where it touched the floor, so why leave it a little longer? I understand seam allowance

Hi! I used a Dritz pen. Yes, wedding gown length varies with the fashion and the venue. She wanted the dress so the hem sits a little bit on the floor. These styles usually yield the best pictures although it might be a little bit more difficult to carry it.
