Message sent to Dr. Campbell earlier: I'm sorry, but using cumulative totals does not reveal the true growth rate for infectious disease. Nobel Laureate Michael Levitt, using official data from the WHO and CDC, has shown the rate of COVID-19 infection in the US to be slowing once background noise in the data is removed. He sees a similar decline in numerous other countries around the world. Sadly, neither the CDC nor WHO understand how to analyze a trend line, something I have done professionally for many years, though not in the medical field. At any rate, the US is beginning to turn the corner on this virus and we thankfully have one quarter the rate of death per million compared to the rest of the globe, and a decline in the CFR is being observed in various other nations. The rest of the globe will experience a greater challenge than the US in coming months due to medical infrastructure, demographics, and population health, but the peak will occur sooner rather than later. Here in the US, we can thank President Trump for acting quickly with respect to border and travel management. Based on my own research of the virus, I believe we have 3 weeks before the global peak of cases has been reached. The US is not becoming a new epicenter for COVID-19, the rise in confirmed cases is a result of increased testing, not despite the rise in test results. Please, doctor, you need to think more logically about the facts, listen to those with greater expertise than yourself, we do not to be engaging in hysteria.
@BismillahArif4 жыл бұрын
Bo Radley thanks for asking. It is spreading undetected. We don’t have health care system. Neither test kits. It is just the matter of time. I think a poor country like ours will suffer the most. Also through lockdown most citizens won’t be able to support themselves since their livelihood depends on daily wage. Government has no money to give salary. So I think the nightmare is coming unless other countries help us.

@TheMissMaggs4 жыл бұрын
I noticed the same. This video shows his distress more than previous ones. Can't say I blame him. There are so many aspects of this that make it difficult. My father has mild dementia and trying to get him to wash his hands is damned near impossible. It's not his fault- he doesn't retain the fact that COVID-19 is a thing. And one of the first changes we noticed with him was he stopped practicing proper hygiene (this is years ago). He has sort of regressed into believing that if he isn't visibly dirty that means he's perfectly clean. That has been a battle for so long and now- but now it's coupled with COVID-19. This is incredibly stressful because he has comorbid conditions that make him high-risk and he is over 65. So add his high-risk status with his repulsion at the idea of washing his hands and this is a nightmare waiting to happen...

@@maryrenaud6732 this is my problem with all of this testing talk. It would appear to me that in the u.s. we are more concerned with controlling the population and not detecting the virus. I really dont understand the logic, i guess its just my lack of understanding. Just something to think about, if i continue to show you a running tally of numbers and that number keeps going up regardless of what people are doing how would we the people ever really know what is true and whats not? We are in a position where we have to appeal to the same authority that has shown that they will let people die in the pursuit of bigger bank accounts. What makes them trustworthy now. Oh i know, because we are afraid.....

Unfortunately, here in germany the max testing capacity has been reached dome days ago. so more and more people stay untested after contact with an infected, even when showing light symptoms. of course they will be ordered to isolate (not controlled). Since Germany misses out to count a number of mild cases, the reported letality rate will increase over time here as well.

Not enough testing is happening in the US. Not everybody who is a suspected case is being tested. Far from it I think.
@skyhawk_45264 жыл бұрын
Definitely true. I'm a first responder in CA. We had a medical call for a 72 y.o. with "complications from bronchitis." The patient died at the scene despite 20 minutes of CPR and other life saving attempts. It turned out the patient was given an over-the-phone diagnosis of "bronchitis" based on symptoms, and prescribed an antibiotic just 2 days prior to death. The patient was never even seen by a nurse or doctor, and never given a test for COVID-19, despite being at a high risk (age, high blood pressure, history of asthma). None of the first responders at the scene know if we were exposed to COVID-19, nor will we ever know because the coroner was contacted by phone only and released the decedent to next of kin without autopsy or any testing. If this person did have COVID-19, it's likely the whole household now has it. But I doubt they'll be allowed testing either. I think this is ridiculous and situations like this are probably happening all over the place.

The department I ran for many years was eliminated and my last day was Nov 1, 2019. Having worked there for so long I have many friends still working for this non profit. My friend Jazmond was 31. I worked with her indirectly. In addition to her 40 hrs a week she was a fulltime student in process of and did graduate with her masters degree in business and was beautiful, bright, vivacious, funny and had great laugh. We would talk way too long for our employers liking, a few days a week, about what business she would like to start and research her business plan. On Monday, March 16 she went to work, the next day felt sick, left work and went to Urgent Care who immediately hospitalized her, later that night she was critical, by Thursday, March 19 she was already ventilated and very tragically passed away by Sunday, March 22. Jazmond was St. Louis, Mo. USA's 1st documented death from this virus. Two more of my friends sitting adjacent to her are now presumptive positive of what is clearly an extremely aggressive strain. The employees live all around the greater St. Louis area, including Illinois counties & traveling managers, visiting remote staff in a 5 state circle, could all be exposed. Please stay home, everyone working there are by our Governors definition, "non essential workers", doing daily admin work that must be collected and processed onsite, who have been told in "corporate terminology" to come to work. No buts. Sound familiar? I just want to say, trust your gut, especially now while this is not under control and being managed reactively as opposed to proactively to protect the economy., among other things. Have Faith, you will make it if you have to find another job to protect the well being of your household. 35-50k annually is not worth your life. ~Much Love and protection to all.

Unfortunately, here in the US there’s another propaganda campaign going on (much like the face mask debacle) telling us anyone under the age of 60 or asymptomatic “doesn’t need to be tested.” OF COURSE we all need to be tested. In my town, there are grocery workers and gas station employees, “essential workers” with mild symptoms that are being refused tests because they don’t meet the criteria. I get there’s a shortage of tests, but just be honest and say that. Tell us you’re working toward a point where everyone who suspects they have it can and will be tested. Don’t try to convince the public that it’s unnecessary for asymptomatic or younger people with mild symptoms to be tested or make them feel dumb for even inquiring. We can’t stop the spread of this thing if we don’t identify and isolate EVERYONE who has it. Mild symptoms, severe symptoms, asymptomatic contacts of confirmed cases, regardless of age ...everyone. Period.
