How Tyler described going from scared to exited makes me think that the Hyde started taking over more and more. I think that Jekyll Tyler likes Wednesday but he has been subdued completely by his Hyde. The way his therapist mentions the change in personality when mentioning his mother and how he acts around his dad and his screaming in the bath i think hints that the Real Tyler still is in their and will be explored more in S2.

Whichever, if I recall, is right before, or as, the DJ says "It's almost eleven o'clockity." Whereas, Eugene says it's 10:42. Which means she had about 10-15 minutes to get back to the dance after blowing up the cave.

I first thought that too, but then after rewatching it I realised that at the Gate's mansion, Tyler did have time to take his clothes off and put them back on again in between times. Not alot of time, but enough. That's what kinda threw me off alittle bit, but then it made alot more sense when Wednesday had the vision of him. There was no clothes when he changed back then, same for when he changed back after fighting Enid.

I am curious to know if Tyler's father was aware that his mother was a Hyde. I'd imagine he would've known she was at least an outcast, since he probably met her in Jericho when she went to school at Nevermore. I hope they touch on that in season 2

i think the tyler situation is still like jekyll and hyde, his actor said he thinks s2 should explore the REAL tyler and how he is without a master. i definitely feel like the hyde just takes over and he can’t control it, the way thornhill acted towards him made me very uncomfortable and really i just feel like he was a young boy who got took advantage of.

It is exactly like jekyll and hyde, you can see how real Tyler switch between him and Hyde: ''what does it feel like?'' (Tyler) ''To lose'' (Hyde), tears at the end (Tyler). Tyler is trapped in his own body by Hyde and he has 2 personalities. It will be interesting to see how Tyler resists Hyde's influence.

Great review! A couple of things to note: Emma Myers is the actress who plays Enid SINCLAIR. Jenna was nominated for the Golden Globe this year, but lost to Quinta Brunson. About ‘The Tone’ of the series. It hàs touches of Buffy, now I’m thinking about it. The one-liners, the comebacks, the zingers from Wednesday, combined with whimsical monsters and teen drama. I would lòve it if Wednesday became the ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ of the 2020’s.. It, apparently dìd hit something in this generation, given the high praise and wide appreciation for it.

This series has something in common with the Scream franchise. I have a theory that Xavier is a villain.He is suspicious, there was no satisfactory explanation for his dreams, drawings, and especially his unexpected appearances. And the scene by the Gate's House reminded me of the great work of Billy Loomis and Stu Matcher, who tried not to pass themselves as murderers. It would be great to watch the plot twist, such as Xavier's revealed partnership with Tyler or/and with those who were not in the first season. This would to some extent complement the image of Wednesday, a child full of woe, who has problems with everything that surrounds her.And the very last scene, where Wednesday pulls out her phone and Tyler and Xavier appear on the screen, also makes me think so.

I'm so hyped that WEDNESDAY got renewed for s2!! Now that Pilgrim Crackstone is officially vanquished....it's time to explore the STALKER mystery next season...who is watching Wednesday? Will Tyler the Hyde seek his revenge? Will Bianca and her mother's strained relationship be explored along with the cult Morning Song and her stepfather Gideon? Hopefully we'll see Bianca's siren form in s2. Jenna Ortega and Christina Ricci did their thing! You guys should definitely check out Christina in the show Yellowjackets, plus Jasmine Savoy Brown who plays Mindy Meeks-Martin in SCREAM is in the show as well.

Loved watching Wednesday a second time through you Guys; thanks for sharing! I'm impressed how Greg figured out Tyler was the Hyde early on = I was back & forth b/w him & Xavier until the end of Ep7! I need to piggyback off of a comment made earlier by a viewer that was amazed how 8 episodes got the audience invested in Nevermore like Hogwarts BITD: I liked how Christina Ricci, Raul Julia & Angelica Houston expanded on the lure from the Addams Family comics & TV Show that came before it. Jenna Ortega's iteration (along with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman & Fred Armisen) supplants those precedents because the audience is attached to more than just the Addams' kin! I'd love to see the further adventures of Bianca, Enid & Ajax, Eugene and Xavier alongside future Addams' stories! I'm not sure there's enough presently for all those spin-offs to have the same quality as this season but maybe after Wednesday Season 2?! Maximum kudos to Wednesday's writers & all the actors who had a great time bringing their words to life!!! And RIP Principal Weems BTW: Should've known Gwendolyn Christie wasn't going to be around for a second season but I hope that's b/c she has to play Lucifer again in Sandman Season 2!

I've really loved watching all of your reactions, even though this is my first comment. Awesome job! I think the best thing about the finale is that Wednesday finally learns that, as critical as she is to stopping Crackstone and saving the school, she doesn't do it alone. Enid saves her, Bianca saves her and Euegene saves her. She is the hero...but she's not a lone hero. As to my favourite part, that's somewhat difficult. The two scenes I rewatch the most are the iconic dance, which is simply mesmerizing and hypnotic and the hug between Wednesday and Enid. That hug is so moving. When Wednesday pushes away, as one would expect she's confronted with Enid's look of naked, uncontrollable emotion and she relents and hugs her back as strongly. And when she closes her eyes, it's obvious that it's as healing and as necessary to Wednesday as it is to Enid. Very powerful. I loved watching this with you guys. Great job on guessing Tyler. I kept guessing him, but then I'd go back, particularly when he was "wounded" by the monster at the Gates mansion. Superb misdirect! Wednesday is my favourite character, but Enid and Thing are close behind her and Bianca, Eugene and Xavier are also very strong. It's quite the accomplishment to make such a compelling character out of a hand! He should really give himself a pat on his.....er....actually...um...yeah, that's not going to work. LOL Thanks guys!

I really enjoyed your review of Wednesday. Greg, you and I both were right about Tyler. I started suspecting Ms. Thornhill was up to something after she got into the society library. I have lingering questions/theories. I think sheriff Halprin suspected Tyler after he saw the photo of the Hyde. He had to know it was probably him because his wife was a Hyde. (Is his wife still alive? Institutionalized maybe?) Loved Thing and Enid. Looking forward to season 2. Genna Ortega killed it as Wednesday!!

My prediction is that Thornhill is not dead and that she’s the stalker because right when Wednesday gets the text and pictures you see Tyler transforming into the Hyde and besides she’s the one who can control Tyler. Also she only got stung by a whole bunch of bees🐝(and I doubt they would kill her off so quickly and easily by Wednesday)not to mention we didn’t see her get arrested either. My biggest issue is the odd timeline of some episodes. The Outreach day episode she is workin at Pilgrim World the weather is sunny, then she is at the Meeting House and it is dark and stormy, than she makes it back for her performance when it is again sunny but doesn’t look like it rained at all.

A couple of small hints: Thornhill giving Wednesday the Frankenstein book was a clue of what was happening with the missing body parts. Thornhill when meeting the mayor said her regular drink at the Weathervane was matcha but Tyler when meeting Thornhill at the dance says her regular drink was something else entirely, hinting they knew each other elsewhere.

I loved the show, finished season 1 long ago, but I must admit, I feel like it woud’ve been nice, not a must, but nice to have more student and more types of monsters/outcasts/cryptic creatures as students. Was so glad it was not the obvious Doctor. As the target audience is teens, it would suck to show the doctor as the baddie and someone you can't trust... mental health is important and I really appreciate that they didn't cast it in a negative light.
