Yung West NO be didn’t. Obito was holding back in order for Kakashi to stab him. Madara had put a seal on his heart that prevented him from becoming Juubito and it restricted his movements so he couldn’t remove it himself. Hence why he then had to coerce Kakashi into using raikiri during the fight. So technically Obito was holding back and threw the fight so we don’t know if it actually would have gone that way in a serious fight.

Pain's tailed beast weapon is essentially the equivalent to introducing the Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) doctrine we had against the Soviet Union with nuclear weapons pointed at each other. It arguably kept the peace for 60 years, but like Naruto says, that peace was arguably a lie. We fought numerous proxy wars with the Soviets, and of course the entire world could've been destroyed if we ever did go to war. The Japanese, being the only country ever hit by nuclear weapons, was extremely sensitive to the issue. That's why you see themes of mass destruction come up in so many media - various anime/manga, Godzilla, and so on.

There's a moment here that really sold me on Shikamaru being my favorite character. All throughout the series I liked him, but him being the one to snap Naruto out of his funk after Jiraiya died made me love him more. And the moment he hears that Naruto is down there fighting by himself he immediately tries to stand up and go help even though his leg is broken. Everyone else just sits there, knowing they'd be in the way, but Shikamaru..the smartest one of them all, instantly tries to go back up our boy Naruto. Thats a subtle bit of comraderie that really gets to me.

Pain the Best Villain in Anime History straight up. His character is beyond dope, he goes way beyond Just strength. He killed Jiraya. He killed kakashi (despite nagato reviving everybody in the end pain was the one who killed kakashi not nagato even though nagato controlled them the whole time). Almost killed Hinata. Destroyed the Leaf in one move (the main village in the show, "the protagonists" If you Will). His theme Girei is the Best in the show. His story is beyond dope, who he is, How he acts, the way he speaks With a God voice, everything about Pain is so Damn well made, kishimoto really way to Go on this one for creating this masterpiece called Pain. For me him along with Itachi are by Far the two greatest Written Characters in Naruto franchise. Semih Sargın She’s a medic they’re the most useful out of anyone without them a majority of the fighters would’ve been dead, therefore she ain’t useless that is what you Sakura haters just use to make yourselves feel better despite all the times she has healed Naruto, saved Kankuro, help take down Sasori (which is said to be the 4th strongest member), healed many people during the war, figured out that Zetsu was disguised as one of their comrades and was killing them from the inside, she has surpassed Tsunade and obtain the 100 healing jutsu which makes her only the second person to have that jutsu, and the biggest one of all if she didn’t physically pump Naruto’s heart and give him mouth to mouth to keep him alive Naruto would’ve died right there while on there way to get the other half of Kurama from Minato, but of course you Sakura haters pretend to ignore all those feats, and still continue to call her useless.

A lot of people like to argue that Pain's method of achieving peace is one that is wrong or artificial and shouldn't be pursued, but that argument is Pain's entire point when making his speech to Naruto. It's not the BEST METHOD or the arguably the RIGHT METHOD, but it's A METHOD, and Pain's goal is finding A METHOD to attain peace and that's exactly what he has done. The threat of nuclear war will in fact discourage conflict escalation between nations, albeit temporarily, exactly how it does in the REAL world. This is why Pain asks Naruto what he would do instead, he's saying "Tell me, tell me what you would do in my place Naruto. My methods are frightening and dangerous sure, but NO ONE has been capable of offering a valid alternative to achieving peace. If you have one, I would like to know what it is so that all this pain may end here and now." But alas, Naruto is, like Jiraya and many others before them when posed with the same question, also incapable of providing a valid solution to the problem. And so, Pain believes that he must continue down his current path along with his current plans and use terror and fear to force the world into a state of peace. It may be "fake" but it will end the large scale conflicts that their shinobi world currently face. Also important to note that Pain is NOT exacting revenge on the Hidden Leaf Village for what happened to his Village in the past, it is simply a twist of fate that He destroyed the Village here when he did. His goal was capturing the Nine Tails-Jinchuriki which just so happened to be from the the Hidden Leaf Village because "If one comes to call vengeance justice, such justice only breeds further hatred..." .

Pain isn't necessarily taking revenge on the leaf. It's kinda a by product of his current goal. He would have left the leaf once he found out where Naruto was. Tsunade just pissed him off. And I wont lie I was surprised by mamma weebly third choice, but once she explained it I expected it. I really need to know her top 10 amd the end of the series.

No, no really.. Yes Tsunade does need to watch her words sometimes but she was spilling facts that triggered a man child with a god complex.. Also, Pain mentioned after learning that Naruto is not in the village, he said the will linger there no longer BUT he never mentioned that he has no plans in destroying the village.. In the manga, chapter 430, page 13, when Konan asked Pain why he was willing to go that far to destroy the Hidden Leaf, he responed, "THIS IS MY JUSTICE!".. This means that Pain has always planed I destroying the Leaf Village, and after seeing how his parents were killes by Leaf Shinobis, his village destroyes by a war instigated by the leaf and his friend killed after Danzo's machinations, I wouldn't be suprised he did what he did..

if any peace under fear is fake peace, then that is what we in the west are living under. I hope people will start getting into the deeper meaning of this fight eventually and what it could mean for our future. There is a Nagato right now somewhere in the other part of the world under duress; his literal village has been attacked; his family destroyed, who is vowing to bring about that peace. There are people in the US who also have experienced over 400 yearsthose pains and will do anything for peace... that hasn't stopped either. When watching Naruto, we have to of course separate the fantasy from the reality, but there is a lot of reality in the fantasy. So Naruto, what is your answer?

Pain didnt attack the village for revenge or justice, he wouldnt have even done the full scale shinra tensei if tsunade hadnt been arrogant and hypocritical. He was about to leave the village after hearing that naruto wasnt there

Pain is a metaphor for the Atomic bomb.... some would say that Pain's philosophy is currently on display in our reality There is a great quote, "Idk what WW3 will be like, but WW4 will be fought with stones". Something along those lines. If the price/consequences for war are too great ppl are more likely to seek other options. For what it is worth, b/c of the atomic bombs we truly havnt had a serious nation vs nation war since WW2.

@Alexandre Guimarães What are you talking about? We live in a world that relies on nuclear weapons, which are practically the weapons that Pain wants to create. This is just a reference to our world, in which the world is kept on the fear of weapons. What is more real than this? Naruto phrases: let's live together? It doesn't work that way. As soon as the resources of one of the countries run out, or there is a very large number of people, the war will begin. And the words naruto can't stop it.

@Alexandre Guimarães The only thing that can be considered wrong in Pain's ideology is that he wants to force the whole world to follow *his* vision of peace, like a tyrant in a way. Except he doesn't do it for him, he does it because he thinks it's his role. If he does not, the world will never know true peace, because no one else has the balls to act. It's a bit like the development of the character of Thanos in the movie Avengers Inifinity War. One of Thanos' quote in the movie: "I’m the only one who knows that. At least I’m the only one with the will to act on it."

Pain's tailed beast weapon is like the nuke or EMP of today. And Pain's Rain village like the poor nations that are our battlegrounds for proxy wars. I think that's what makes Pain such a fascinating villain, he's rooted in the our world politics/culture, especially since anime is from Japan and has seen first hand the nuclear bombs.

Well, *Pain's* ideal for peace is not technically fake, is just based on fear, like a dictatorship of power, which is what we already live today, but unlike the world that uses this method out of pure greed and irresponsibly, his idea is to use this "dictatorship" to achieve peace based on fear and strenth, like he is forcing the world to be peacyfull. After everything he went through and said, lets be real here *Naruto* himself had no better answer than that and only defeated him by pure protagonism and talk no jutsu.

The truth is, Pain's original intent was for the assault on the Leaf Village to only be about ascertaining the location of Naruto. He didn't want it to be personal, because he knew that, given his own views it would make him a hypocrite. But then, just as Tendo (the designation given to the Pain that remains at this time) was about to leave, Tsunade had to get one last comment in, and it happened to be one that, coming from the leader of a Great Nation, sounded self-righteous in a way that stirred up the memories of what led him to all this to begin with. He didn't want it to be personal, but it was made personal by a comment that, unfortunately dug too deep. So Pain laid the Leaf Village to waste. He did to the center of military strength of one of the Great Nations that warred in his country what their war did to it. Pain's actions toward the Leaf Village became personal right at the end, and thus his justice became vengeance.
