A bit of fun trivia, the cast of Helluva Boss where originally planned to be Hazbin Hotel characters. They were going to be minor antagonists that would act in contrast to Charlie’s efforts at the hotel. But to keep the cast from becoming bloated they where given their own spinoff/sibling series. You can even spot early designs for some of them in the Hazbin Hotel pilot.

I can sort of see the rivalry working in some capacity. Given how the purpose of Charlie’s hotel is to redeem sinners, this goal could unintentionally make I.M.P. lose potential clients, which Blitzø would not stand for based on how vengeful and spiteful he can come across. However, I do think the split was the right call considering how the Vees feel more fitting for the minor antagonists role based on Angel’s deal with Valentino and Vox trying to show up Alastor.

A couple things you missed: 1. Imps and hellhounds are hellborn, meaning they're not dead humans (that's only Sinners); they're alive, were born in hell, and were never human. While Sinners can only be killed by angelic weapons, hellborn demons can be killed normally. 2. The spiders gift was for Loona's "one year adoption anniversary". She's Blitzø's adopted daughter.

Hello Weeby. I will explain to you the hierarchy of hell and its species WITHOUT SPOILERS 1. Hellhounds The hellhounds, demons with canine appearance, be they wolves, dogs, and anything like that 2. Imps Imps are the traditional red demons (3 of the protagonists of Helluva are Imps). Males have long black and white horns and females have short black horns (although there are trans imps). In the pride ring there is a city called Imp City, Helluva Boss occurs there 3. Hellborns Any native species other than the previous two or species of great power enter here. Succubos, shark demons etc. Each ring has a predominant native species although these can go to any ring 4. Sinners They have the most varied designs, they are the souls of humans that go to hell. Their designs have to do with their death, what they did in life or what they hate. They cannot die unless you use an angelic weapon, otherwise they respawn, although the process is very painful. You can't leave the pride ring and that's why there is overpopulation 5. Overlords Sinners with great power, usually rule a field (weapons, TV, movies, etc.). Some reign some pentagram city arts 6. Ars Goetia Owl-Looking Demons Are Basically Hell's Royalty 7. Six Seven Deadly Sins Each one is the owner of a ring, there is only one person per sin and each one has great industrial power and power in itself. I can't talk more about them to avoid giving spoilers. 8. Lillith and Charlie The Queen and Princess of hell. Both of them and Lucifer can only die at the hands of an angel greater than them, like archangels (said in Vivzie's patreon) 9. Partially right. Though some things are missing (SPOILERS): - Hellhounds and Imps are Hellborn, so they also are exept from Heaven's Extermination. A key indicator is that Hellborn can freely travel between rings while Sinners can only occupy the Pride Ring. - Overlords are Sinners who have accrued power by collecting souls, mostly through deals and contracts. - Ars Goetia are indeed considered royalty of Hell but are considered weaker than Lucifer and Charlie (Lilith is an unsure because of the fact that she's technically an Earthborn Human and we know how they can die, referring to Adam's situation). Similarly to Sinners, they cannot die unless by an Angelic weapons. They tend to hold some form of station referring to the book called in Hell, from as low as Presidents to as high as Kings. - Charlie is a hybrid. Though Hellborne by default, she is part Archangel and part Human. What that entails I have no clue. She seems to have power comparable to her father Lucifer but there's no IRL documents to base any solid hypothesis. What we know is she can die like all Hellborne can with Angelic weapons but as you said, she may only be able to be killed by angels with equal or greater power than her and Lucifer (which we haven't confirmed who that may be yet) - Lucifer is a fallen Archangel which according to the shows (so not based on anything in current religous text), has the power of creation and speculated to be as powerful as the Seraphims (there is speculation that he was also a Seraphim and it took an entire council of Seraphims to cast him out of Heaven and punished him to live in Hell fo all of eternity). He is also titled as one of the Seven Deadly Sins known as Pride, which is why he controls the Pride Ring of Hell. Through technicalities, he is not a Hellborne. He is a Prince of Hell but is also a King of Hell. Although he apparently "created" Hell though, he isn't THE King of Hell. It's very confusing because Being a King in Hell is higher than a Prince but having a Sin Title (being called Pride) makes you considered more powerful than both, but he is called THE King of Hell in the show Hazbin Hotel, but any IRL texts referring to Lucifer call him a Prince of Hell.....so....yeah...more needs to be explained on that but for now it's just all a wash! 😅

The pilot isn’t technically canon anymore btw, unlike the Hazbin pilot, which is still canon just aside from slight design changes and voice actors. Differences being: - Moxxie not minding killing a kid. - Personalities are mostly the same aside from Moxxie, Millie, and Loona all slightly. And Stolas a lot. - Voice actor change for Millie and Stolas. - Slight design change for Stella; Stolas’ wife. - Them casually being seen on Earth, which they aren’t supposed to do😅So they didn’t actually go to a church, and hospital and chill in the waiting room, talk to a doctor, and then literally show up on live news. - Loona having an STD. - Millie and Moxxie knowing how to open the portal to Earth with the book (Loona is in charge of that, in addition to being the receptionist). - Possibly the kid being in Hell. I’m assuming they can’t just bring a straight up human who’s not dead yet into Hell, but I don’t know for sure🤷‍♀️ But yeah, just a few things changed, so it’s not technically canon anymore, but is still a rlly fun watch as to how their office and business operates, some insight on their dynamics and relationships (like Blitzø having slept with Stolas for the book, Blitzø adopting Loona, and Millie and Moxxie being married) and with some funny jokes and a catchy jingle. Most of the characters in this show will actually be Hellborn demons. This allows clean separation of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. Because Sinners, who used to be Human, can only travel around the Pride Ring which is where Hazbin Hotel takes place. While the I.M.P. office is in the Pride Ring (so that sinners can be clients) a majority of this show takes place on other layers of hell.

A little bit of lore that isn't really mentioned in either shows is that sinners who were human and died are confined to the Pride Ring where Hazbin takes place, while hellborn species like imps, hellhounds and others that you'll see throughout Helluva Boss can move freely between the rings. Each ring is based off of one of the seven deadly sins and is ruled by the embodiment of that sin. Imp City is located in the Pride Ring but many imps aren't from there. @@BrieezySoul(spoilers warning in case she reads the comments) one of the bigger differences is that Stolas’ personality was changed, originally he was going to be a darker more villainous character, but Viv and Brandon got to talking and decided he and Blitz could make a cute couple. So he’s the softer lovable/adorable dork we got. Bryce’s performance also had a big hand in that. Plus notice in the pilot he is sending I.M.P. on a hit like they work for him, which didn’t carry over into canon. If anything Stolas seems to be more of a pacifist.

So a little bit of info: Blitz is voiced by Brandon Rogers, who also co-writes this series along with Vivzie. He's one of the famous YT comedians that still do dark humour sketches. Moxxie is of cource voiced by RIchard Horvitz, who was in Invader Zim and etc., you've read that already Millie and Luna were voiced by Erica Lindbeck. She's also voiced Futaba in English version of Persona 5. In actual series Millie is voiced by other person. Canonicity of pilots, both Hazbin and Helluva Boss are questionable, but they are still canon mostly, but as Vivzie clarified on Twitter about Hazbin pilot - THe Pilot is generally still canon, but visually - it isn't due to change in designs and a bit in artstyle. Guess this also applies here, considering there's not much happening in this Pilot. The only thing that actually matters is Blitz sleeping with Stolas to get the book, which is fully canon in actual series. Speaking of Stolas. Stolas is an actual demon of Goetia family (aka it's from actual irl mythology) and is a Lord of forbidden knowledge and (I belive) astrology. I wont explain his full title and duties he has, but just know that he's portrayed here as horny book nerd owl. Also, Imps are not sinners, they are Hellborn. So as Hellhounds, Succubi and etc. So Blitz, Moxxie, Millie and Loona were born in hell, so as Deadly Sins and Goetia demons (which includes Stolas). In short - Hazbin focuses on Sinners, Helluva has a bit of focus on Hellborn creatures with Sinners being the ones that hires I.M.P. to kill someone back on Earth.

Stolas being censored is more for the bit than them actually needing to censor anything he's saying. He goes on dirty ramblings sometimes and it's kinda a running gag to just bleep half of what he's saying. The only word they end up SERIOUSLY censoring in the series proper is the C word. Also you being the most interested in Stolas? Hilarious. He's a little different in the show than in the pilot since they originally had different dynamics and plans for him that they ended up scrapping. But, I have no doubt you'll still be compelled by him. But lord, girl, do you have a big storm coming with this Owl Man. There was a theory going around back then that the "text from the client" that Loona got came from herself, wanting to get rid of the kid. They associated this with Loona's angry typing on her phone shortly after the kid said he was a cat person.

Much like Sir Pentious with his pilot appearance, Stolas was originally meant to be a villian, but was changed to be main cast ally. Also there is a brief moment in the pilot where you can see a picture of Sir Pentious during the work jingle. And between the pilot and the first episode, Millie and Stolas get new voice actors and personalities. Millie becoming a more rough and tough southern girl and Stolas being a sad theater kid.

Biggest change in canon after the pilot besides Millie's voice actor is definitely the owl demon prince Stolas. Different voice actor after this episode, and they decided to take his character in a different direction after this episode as well.

to lay out a few details. there are species in Hell that are native, hailing from a different Layer/Ring Imps are from Wrath, Hellhounds are From Gluttony. The Pride Ring seems to be the only one without a native, and is where the Sinners spawn...

Considering the social hierarchy and classes in Hell. Imps were not former humans, just like Hellborn demons and hellhounds, they were born in Hell, too. It's just that imps are seen just as inferior as hellhounds. Sinner demons, on the other hand, are above hellborn, since unlike Hellborn and below, they can't die, unless killed by an angelic weapon used by exorcists from heaven. Sinners only live in the pride ring since they're all trapped in there. It's unexplained how, it is believed that the pride ring has a barrier preventing any sinner from leaving or there's a lack of transportation system between rings for the pride ring. This is done to ensure sinners don't leave the pride ring and kill hellborn demons, since hellborn demons can and will die, making them close enough to humans on Earth. Due to this, Blitzo established his company in the pride ring since that's where all the sinners are.

5:12 Yep, and Richard Horvitz is also the/a voice director on Hazbin. Such a GOAT. 6:41 I'd say they're in the role of fulfilling curses by vengeful spirits, but I think you still got the idea. -A note for the main series: two of the main characters have different voices. Erika Harlacher voiced both Loona and Millie in the pilot, so they got someone else to do Millie in the show so Erika didn't need to do a double role. Then Stolas is voiced by Brock Baker in the pilot, and in the show is voiced by Bryce Pinkham, who sounds drastically different but is a fantastic singer. You'll get used to both voice changes.

Yeah the lore I've picked up is that while sometimes, the words "sinners" and "demons" are used interchangeably, the "sinners" are ex-human, and imps and other creatures originate from that realm

There's a lot of hellborn races, and outside of the pride ring, where all the sinners are stuck, you'll see a bunch of other hellborn races of demon

Basically all the demons in this show are hellborn even those in the background with only a few exceptions. Blitz, Moxxie, and Millie are Imps, Loona is a hellhound, well Stolas is a royal Ars Goetia and specially a prince who are all above Overlords but below Lucifer.

Oh excellent!! You're doing Helluva Boss! You'll find that the...shenanigans will gradually get into major pathos. Also note that the owl is actually a villain in the pilot (which is no longer canon), but a huge big Woobie going forth.

I'm real glad you're watching this series. It has a lot more content than Hazbin Hotel at the moment, and I like that we get to see more of Hell since the main characters are hellborn demons and go to the other rings (mortals are confined to the pride ring)

From my understanding, Helluva boss is a series more focused on the life of the hellborn, the natural inhabitants of Hell; while Hazbin is about the sinners that end up in hell as punishment.

I’m so excited to watch your reaction videos to this series. Uuuuugh no spoilers, I’m just eager for you get to certain episodes BECAUSE IT IS SO GOOD!!!! And I’m sure others have already mentioned, but the IMP crew are hellborns. The only Sinners we see in Helluva Boss are clients reaching out to IMP to get revenge on their behalf. The focus is more on the hellborn who are spared from all the extermination stuff in Hazbin and are just trying to survive this crazy fucked up world

I think that hell is full of musicals, because musicals are diabolical. If the songs are good, which they usually are, they will haunt you for weeks. Furthermore, every night, when you try to fall in sleep, they will appear in your head out of nowhere and you play them over and over and over again unable to fall asleep. That is hell in disguise.
