As a former team manager an rider coach..in the early 90s..thru 96....im really impressed by young Haiden commitment while his family went to the lake on summer vacation...the points leader recognizes Tom Vialle is a 2 mxgp champ who would give up...i knew the french men would be there banging on the door to moto wins...an im impressed by Haidens work ethic to not relax on his morals an 51 point lead...but to stay sharp right to the end...big kudos to him....for displaying maturity at 18 years old....

100% respect to Haiden if you like him or hate him - not saying other riders aren't riding during the break but with over a full race ahead of 2nd place in points for the break, he could have easily taken off and enjoyed the summer but no, he has a pit bull tenacity to do whatever it takes and sacrificed beach/leisure time, etc. to get this championship, period. Hat's off to him. Wondering if in the back of his mind if he wraps it up at Budd's Creek, he will race a 450 at the Ironman? Thanks again Weege for the great coverage as usual.

I started riding dirt bikes in 1973. When James Stewart came onto the scene, I was NOT a fan although he was exciting to watch and was the fastest man on the planet therefore making his crashes also spectacular on his way to the top. Fast forward 30 years and I was surfing KZbin and came across his Hall of Fame induction speech. Wow that was the most genuine authentic inspiring HUMBLE HOF speech I’ve ever seen in any sport. Then I came across a video of some director and Jason Sudeikis ( so I know it was legit) talking about this director wanted to make a movie about James Stewarts life and Tom Cruise was going to coproduce and it was going to be Days of thunder moto version but the Stewarts declined. Make the movie James

some of the riders don't have the proper nutrition to keep from physical burnout. I saw Coach Rob talking about how some trainers have their riders on an 1800 calorie a day diet?? Are you kidding me. That is plain stupid. That is basically Maintenance calories for sedentary people. To keep up with the grueling training and weekly racing they need way more than that to keep the body functioning properly -. Basically running out of gas! Deegan is not fat , but does have some bulk and stocky.. I am sure he is eating much more than 1800 calories a day! Even for cardio capacity a body needs calories.
