I’ve missed you. You do not have to apologize for needing to take a much needed break or for needing to change what you’re doing. We all have to do what’s best for us. I’m still with you. I do have to say that someone else I have watched said it took her 5 years for some of her cravings for certain foods to go away. I will still follow you. I have lost about 60 pounds since the middle of October doing Carnivore ,and I’ve been maintaining it, so of course that’s what I’m sticking with. I am going to incorporate exercise. When I was on vacation it was easy to get the exercise in, which is totally weird. You do you. I am so proud of you! Something else I wanted to add is that I don’t look at it as I can’t have that food. My mindset is do I really want to feel crappy , and have my joints hurt?

Girl I’m so proud of you on ditching the booze. One demon at a time. I quit drinking July 30 2023 and I did ZERO with my food addiction for 6 months. No regrets. I absolutely needed to just work on developing a new mindset and gaining confidence authentically in the absence of alcohol before I could even THINK about dealing with my food issues. Came to find out in the long absence of alcohol, my brain was finally ready to start working on other things. I swore off keto/ carnivore and any other form of anything restrictive whatsoever and I do not regret taking that time. I learned how to love myself and develop different desires. I still do not believe in diets or restrictions and I get annoyed when people ask me what “ diet” I’m doing (because I’m 50 pounds lighter now since January..it’s pretty obvious something changed). I just say “ I’m doing life differently”. Cuz I am. I do follow a mostly keto/ carnivore lifestyle but not because “ I have to” or “ I can’t have this or that”. I also don’t drink anymore. No label will ever be thrown on that either! I can drink if I want to but guess what? Haven’t wanted a drink for almost a year now. Will I ever drink again? If I want to I will but I’m so damn happy without it I really can’t imagine making a different choice. Same goes for my food choices now. ( like I said though… I took a 6 month break).. but yea, I can eat whatever I WANT. Point is? I no longer WANT those things so there is no willpower. There is no desire therefore willpower and restriction doesn’t exist. I believe with my whole heart that as human beings we will always ultimately do what we WANT to do. That’s why diet and restriction and “ bad foods”, “ I can’t eat that” ? That will not last. It’s only when you change your mind about those things, and I mean COMPLETELY change your mind and desires. That’s when the correct lifestyle for you to reach your goals comes to life. Maybe it will be keto or low carb. Maybe it won’t. But you are on the track of seeking yourself completely by being done with the alcohol and I could not be more proud of you for making one decision that will help you not have to make 100 more in that area... that is just a whole lot of mental gymnastics/ internal warfare and leads to absolute EXHAUSTION!! I have a feeling that the incredible shrinking stephy is going to find out exactly who she is, what she wants and the navigation to get there with 100% confidence in a matter of 6 months to a year. Stay the course and only focus on one demon at a time. God will guide you. Believe me. I literally just walked this road myself. My mind is finally at peace and I know one day yours will be too. I’m cheering you on. I believe in you. ❤️💯🏆

I watched another video today where someone was taking a stand with the child within. It is so hard to believe that those who thought they were “helping” could make us feel so bad about ourselves. It takes great strength to advocate for ourselves and to open the door to our food prison! Someone (MIL) always telling me to just tell myself no once-in-a-while… lady, you have no idea how many times a day I’ve told myself no for my entire life! I have a broken body and a fractured mind. But, with Jesus I can have victory and peace! Thank you for being transparent!

Glad to see you back. I am know doing low carb high protein. It is working for me 14 pounds down. Feeling better too. I have to stay away from anything white processed definitely. I do have a corn on the cob, watermelon, bing cherries, strawberries, blueberries. No bananas,apples, pasta, rice. Do you what works for you. It’s your results not everyone else’s. Whatever gets the scale moving in the right direction most important. Far as sore knees. I walk round and round my pool for 30 minutes. Do some arm moves under water. I am 65 so this works fe me. Less stress on my joints.

I did the exact same thing 1 year ago and it was the best gift for myself. I learned moderation. Moderate protein carbs and fat. And a nibble of anything that I wanted. It felt so good to have the control and be able to portion without binging. I’m strength training 3x a week and walking outside daily. I’m so happy for you. It feels like freedom. 💜🙏🏽🩷

I am struggling too. I cried in my doctors office for 25 minutes this week. I think she thought I was crazy 😂. I was just so tired of the up and down, strict and binge, I’ve been doing this for 6 years. I’m still down in weight but ofcourse I’m up as well. I don’t struggle with exercise, I love lifting weights and definitely do that 4-5 times a week, depending on kid/work schedules. But I struggle with food, bad. And I work at Crumbl..

How do you see what you are trying as anything different than an alcoholic only trying to be a social drinker or just drink one serving when it really sounds good? Hi! Have a wonderful summer. Sounds like you’ll be doing what a registered medical nutritionist/ dietician prescribed for me. Potatoes, rice, bread cereal milk dairy everything allowed. No intermittent fasting mentioned. Anger at mention of keto. Here was the BIG CATCH. Take out your 1/2 cup lidded containers , purchased at grocery store, and that’s how much one can eat of most things. Rice is down to 1/3 cup. She was big on one unit of Babybel cheese. But take the pork chop or steak and dice it up to fit into the 1/2 cup container. Yoghurt, cottage cheese , fruits, vegetables by the 1/2 cup , no second helpings really. Yes for a snack . 3 meals a day. Sugar not really mentioned . 1400-1450 calories. Breakfast proteins different from lunch and dinner proteins. But no 8-oz steaks because it’s too much over 1/2 cup . Pizza would be very adapted at home from frozen pizzas. So I hope you’ve got a registered dietician for a good food plan for weight loss and then maintenance. Good luck !

SAME GIRL, same! Low carb has always been my fast quick go to, and works, but…. Restriction leads to binging carbs and I’ve done it for years. I said the exact same thing, I’m tired of the fight 😢. Tired of constant dieting and restricting, tired of doing well for a few days then fall off track and gain 10lbs in a weekend, because I can lol. Tired of being so carb strict that even when I eat a more healthy carb, I gain weight immediately. Now, I eat something if I want it. I try to stay away from sweets about 85% of the time but if I really want something I have it. It has been a game changer for me. I don’t feel super restricted, my body doesn’t have a cow over a potato and I’m still losing weight. One thing that has helped me is taking semiglitide. (Weegovy) It quiets that food noise and cravings tremendously. If you are interested in more info about that just let me know. I still with ya girl, no matter what plan you’re doing.

I was an overweight little girl too and a!ways on a diet. I've tried them all! Keto and carnivore are so restrictive (for me) I cannot stick.with them for any length of time to see results, it feels like I'm trying to put a square peg in a round hole. I get so tired of fighting it too! When I tell myself that food is bad you can't have it I'll end up eating it anyway and binging on it cuz I tell myself you can never have it again so may as well it it all now! I am with you on this. One of the behaviors for me to start with is no snacking between meals and no eating after dinner. I may be fooling myself but I'm gonna find out cuz what I'm doin ain't workin.

Can’t deal with the binging anymore and restriction causes that binging for me. So just trying to experiment on this journey and find something that’s going to help me develop that better relationship with food 😊

I agree with so much of what you're saying, I have an addictive personality too lol 😂 it's not really funny but sometimes you have to laugh to keep going, I'm doing pretty good on portion control now, just going keto helped a lot with that. Learning about protein and fat keeping you satiated, I try to eat close to the servings size now or only eat what fits in a sandwich bag for chips / crackers ECT, I kinda had a drinking problem in my twenties it was a little out of control for awhile I had to let it go what helped me is I was having stomach issues/Gerd and ibs-c so kinda didn't have a choice but to stop and I'm glad I did, I only drink occasionally now, I've been watching you since I started keto in August 2023, and lost about 40 pounds,I tried carnivore in December I was gaining weight doing that 😂so I started doing what you're doing "In February" eating high protein and veggies and eating what I want in moderation, I guess you could kinda call it carb cycling in a way 🤷 idk what to call it, but I still eat mostly like keto but have carbs / processed foods "In serving sizes" when I want them, which tends to be more in the week and a half up until my period starts and then I go back to keto- ish until that week in a half before my period comes back around,so keto-ish for 2 & 1/2 weeks protein focused, then 1&1/2 week of eating whatever I want in moderation but still protein focused always, exercising, mostly walking an hour a day 4 times a week and @least 30 minutes the rest of the week plus I've just started doing resistance training a couple weeks ago for 2days a week, just some super light dumbbells right now, I plan on gradually going heavier with those as time go on . I randomly throw in a little cardio sporadically whenever I feel like it😂, my issue is not getting enough sleep 😵💫 I can't control it with my work schedule so I try to do everything else I can do, I have gained about 10 pounds but I look slimmer 🤷😅 I'm going to just keep an eye 👀 on the scale ⚖️ now and then to make sure it Doesn't get out of control, but no more weighing every morning that was effecting my mental health, might weigh like twice a month since muscle weighs more than fat, I'm going to get a new scale like you have that tells you body fat percentage and all so I'm not focusing on just the number on the scale, I want to get healthy and sustain it for life and I realize now that I care more about how my body looks and feels than the number, so high Protein/ resistance training/walking it's becoming a lifestyle not a diet 💪 I want sustainable longevity as I get older that's the overall goal now!💪🧘. I do still think keto is probably the best diet I've ever done because it healed me of all of my ailments and nothing else has ever done that so I'm probably always going to go back to it when I need to❤... So I say all this to say I'm still going to be watching your videos 😂 ❤❤❤❤

hi Shephy! I have to listen to all of it but have you ever thought about going on wellbutrin or contrave or vyvanse? they help take away the "food noise" i do keto from time to time but i always come off it there are so many fun things that just aren't the same when you are so restricted...

I actually tried Wellbutrin but my body didn’t agree with it. I’m already on Prozac so I think the medication together didn’t work well for me

that's a bummer about the wellbutrin because it can be taken with anti depressants when the sssrj's make you sleepy or take away your romantic feelings... a lot of times doctors will add wellbutrin to an ssri and it can help people lose weight... maybe look at vyvanse i have been on that and I think that is finally what helped my weight to budge after three years and menopause...even if you try it long enough to know what's it's like to not be addicted to food and then use those skills it really just makes everything seem okbut not like you are dying to have it... but just an idea or another tool to have...my weakness is ice cream it's bad....i am going to try what you are trying i feel exactly the same way and am not consistent enough on keto these days to lose any more weight i feel like...just an idea I love your channel I absolutely relate to all of what you say❤

I honestly think they're are some red light foods everyone has. Foods that you know if you eat, will make you gain weight, make you feel terrible. Everyone needs to acknowledge what foods those are for them and stay away from them. It took me a long time to realize that. But I would rather feel good then continue to eat foods that make me feel terrible

"it's just food"...sort of. I was listening to podcast today that said to define a food as actual food your body needs to be able to utilize it in a good way. So many so-called "foods" are not that for me. I've gotta wait til Heaven for many different tastes...which is ok, cuz that's for eternity!

Steph, I am with you all the way. I had to leave keto awhile ago. I am now on WW and I still follow you. You inspire me to keep going. Life takes us down different roads and sometimes we get stuck in a rotary going in circles. I love WW because there is no bad foods. Food has no morals. I love you Steph and I am always with you

You have repeatedly stated how you are a food addict and in the next breath you speak of moderation. So either you don’t believe you are an addicted to food or you believe addicts can moderate the usage of their drug of choice. You can’t have it both ways. With that being said I hope you the best in your new journey.

I believe addiction can be controlled and in my experience (almost 40 years) of doing this, the only things that have worked for me in the past is not restricting myself. It’s the only time that I’ve felt like I have the control. Restriction causes my addiction to explode. When I don’t restrict myself and I allow myself things every once in a while (please know that it’s NOT all the time) I don’t crave it like I do when I restrict myself. Like I said, this is all experimentation. But obviously after restricting myself consistently for almost 4 years now and seeing I STILL have issues with binging, I have to try something new. If it works it works, if it doesn’t, I try something else! 😊

We are all on a journey but I must say you are all over the place one minute keto then IM then low carb or something else and you always say my breakthrough each time. Don’t tell me about addiction I know it all to well but at least stay with one topic I will not watch you any longer I never subscribed just enjoyed the general videos but your all over the place and you gain and loose and then say oh blah blah blah I just can’t

Hi Stephy, I know exactly how you feel! I’ve been there! Low carb stopped working for me too!! No matter how I tried it! I was so sick of the hunger and cravings too! I don’t think it was the restriction that was making you crave junk food though. The cravings and big appetite are a result of leptin resistance. Low carb/keto cured you of that for a while but it stopped working. It did for me too. But you know what - there is another way to cure leptin resistance- a high carb, very low fat diet including lots of beans and lentils! It’s astonishing - after doing keto and IF - it’s unbelievable how much you can eat, how often and the freedom from cravings and finally breaking through the plateau! But it has to be very low fat though or you won’t cure the cravings and hunger. It won’t cure the leptin resistance. It’s a long scientific story but you can’t combine carbs and fats if you have developed leptin resistance. Anyway - it’s definitely worth trying. I’m a HUGE convert! Finally free of the cravings! 🤯

What I mean is - when you get your leptin resistance right with the right diet- you don’t even have the cravings or the urges to overeat so there IS no feeling of restriction. That’s the dream

I would also say - ok to have the odd treat - but in GENERAL- Hclf. It’s a lot more forgiving thsi way than LFHC too.
