I entered a Skullgirls tournament yesterday, having no experience with the game whatsoever except for watching your videos. I lost, obviously, but it was a lot of fun. I managed to do about 50% damage to both of my opponents somehow (I basically just did your bnb with Filia). I also repped some Chris Redfield at the UMvC3 event. I have to say though that without your videos I never would have even thought of going to a tournament! Thanks for getting me more serious about these games. Fun.

I wasn't really into all these fighting games like Street Fighter or BlazBlue, but after seeing so many of your videos, Max, I realised that all of sudden... I love them. Now I'm gonna play my SFIV until they release SkullGirls on PC. This game is definitely worth buying!

11:46 Max you mentioned that both characters where on the screen. The reason for this is that Valentine has a lvl. 5 special that can revive your teammates. Forbidden Procedure: Rebirth Ex Machina, I think that's the name. I've done it once. you have to be standing over the fallen team member, of course. You're getting better, too. Just keep an eye on most attacks that can leave you grounded against Double, as it can be cheaply chained into the Bandwagon Rushdown.

The soundtrack is actually up on CDbaby, itunes and Amazon for those who enjoy the music. The variety is great and the talent behind the soundtrack is awesome(Vincent Diamante who composed for Flower also made several tracks). It's worth the $9.

There's an option to turn that on, but it's primarily not there because it's non-traditional for VS. fighting games to have rounds. It originally was not there for 1 vs. 1s either, but was added later in the beta.

Considering that 3 vs. 3 last much longer than 1 vs. 1s, I think it's appropriate for them to not have a round system. You're pretty much never going to see a 1 vs. 1 game in Skullgirls where an opponent tries to run out the clock, but it's actually possible to see something like that in 3 vs. 3.

Hilarious video, and it's nice to see you improving. Since you mentioned some confusion about the tech recovery system in a previous video, I'll explain. I believe you have to commit to the tech roll the second you get knocked to the ground. Mashing buttons while holding forward or back at the time that you get knocked down should cause you to roll in that direction. Unlike SFxT or BlazBlue, you need to commit before you have knowledge of your opponent's actions or position post-combo.

btw, giant easter island head is Double's lvl 3 (or possibly 5) and that head is Double and all those planes and crap were various button attacks, epic keep away

Actually, the Easter Island head is Double's level 5. Her level 3 is the combination attack with every character and then some. Anyways, awesome games Max. I'd have to say the most popular characters seem to be Valentine and Parasoul right now as they are who I see the most followed by Peacock in a close second. Very few Ms. Fortunes (excluding myself) and Painwheels (who are hella scary). Parasoul has two command normal overheads it seems which is good to know! Yeesh! Day 4! Let's go!

Ping is the average number of milliseconds it takes to send and receive information between players (or in other games, from a player to the game's dedicated server). For example, if your ping is 45, this means it takes an average of 45ms to send and receive information to/from the other player. The longer this takes (the higher your ping), the more work the game has to do to keep matches on sync, leading to laggy matches.

There is a good reason why characters stay out after they are beaten. Valentine's lvl 5 can bring back a KO'd partner at about 1/5 of their health I think, maybe more, but she has to be over them.

The only problems I have with the online is that connections occasionally zonk out regardless of ping and you can get periodic lag spikes. That and I'd really like a lobby function/spectator mode. P.S. So I'm a casual player who loves fighters but could not compete with high level players, but apparently Viscant plays Skullgirls because I got wrecked by him a couple of times. Which was totally awesome mind you! He's a scary Parasoul.

Hey Max, you know when you said that you thought it was cool that defeated characters stay on screen? I agree, I reckon it makes the game feel a bit less unrealistic (Ironic that I want realism in a game like this but oh well) Well it gets cooler when you learn that Valentine has a super which resurrects the defeated character when she's near them. I thought it was an awesome idea and definately sounds pretty treacherous if it's used right. Good vids as always sir!

So love Max' comments on Double. Not that far off from mine. O_o In fact, I expect Kirk Russell to bust in the middle of a Double match and make it French Kiss the business end of a flame thrower. And, not to sound like a broken record, but you need to work more on this game. Learn new combos, new characters, figure out assists, etc. The only problem is finding time between the other fighting games that are out. ^^;

I see, though I was mainly going about her looks and style (& the stance, similar to Strider). I only play the demo and the occasional visit to my friend's place. I've yet to download my own copy (bought the Eightarc Onyx & SFxT a while back).
