I agree that the top 3 leaders in Virginia should resign, especially the two “black face” dudes, but why don’t the Republicans ever call for the resignation of those GOP members that engage in similar, horrific actions? Brett Kavanaugh, anyone? Even if his alleged sexual assault didn’t occur, he acted reprehensibly to the Dems on the Senate committee and told a plethora of whoppers. Had a Democratic SCOTUS nominee acted in a similar manner or been accused of sexual assault, he/she would have been pressured by the party to withdraw their name from consideration. And would have. Hell, Al Franken, one of the nation’s best senators, left pretty quickly after his own sexual missteps were revealed. Yet, an enormous number of Republicans supported Roy Moore for Senate, even though he was removed from the Alabama Supreme Court for refusing a federal court’s order to remove a marble monument of the Ten Commandments he placed in the Alabama Judicial Bldg AND even though later re-elected, was soon suspended for defying a US SCOTUS decision on same sex marriage. This crook was still heavily supported by Repugs (including Trump) even though public allegations of sexual misconduct of children were made! Sick! GOPPERS just don’t care. They won’t pressure ANY GOP to leave, even one who admits on public television he’s guilty of sexual assault, peeps on teenage girls who are dressing for pageants, harasses women, lies worse than any rug ON A DAILY BASIS, cheerfully calls POCs rapists, sons of bitches, and hasn’t a clue how government works. The GOP is now the party of racism and misogyny, and happily embraces their legacy.

But they’re entertainers, not representatives of the American people. Still, a full apology should be necessitated, and I’d even support termination of their contracts.

Floyd Cramer Bear Thank you for sharing this with me. These “comedic bits” are thoroughly disgusting. How, how are these pigs still working? I’ve never cared for Kimmel - his “Man Show” was gross and a misogynist mess. But I was even more offended by Fallon! Both were straight-up racist depictions, but Fallon was even more reprehensible. To be fair, I’ve never watched Fallon since he left SNL and only rarely seen Kimmel’s show. I will be sure to never watch either again IN ANY CAPACITY. Not a Trump fan, but it’s downright despicable for them to criticize him for racism (or in Kimmel’s case, sexism) when they are absolutely no better! Liberals can absolutely be hypocritical - these two chumps sure showed that! Let’s face it, if a Republican pulled this kind of shit, his/her career would be over. Hollywood is such a joke. Kind of a reach to say owning slaves, cheating on your wife, or selling dope to kids is the other side of the coin for coming up with a skit with your comedy partner for a movie. You're also mentioning the same Richard Pryor that, during his Live on the Sunset Strip special (1982), proclaimed that he would never refer to a person as nigger again and that he wasn't comfortable with other black people using the word or calling him one either. So I'm pretty sure Gene would have done just fine these days.
