Indeed he's great. I've seen this come up alot about the mario voice being grating - yeah the default one would be, but Martinet is a talented voice actor, he could easily modify his performance to be more level and less jarring for two hours.

@@edmundaubrey322 Yes but that would require hiring him in his capacity as a voice actor, not as a celebrity cameo. This kind of movie needs the celebrity voice cast to promote it. It's not like a Pixar film where they get celebrities but ones who know what they're doing with voice acting mostly.

Episode 3 was done by Studio Trigger who did an anime called Kill La Kill. Ep 3 is basically Kill La Kill with lightsabers. They didn't change anything to suit a western audience because anime is already here in full force.

I think the batman suit with the Flash emblem is simply Flash temporarily replacing his suit that he lost through time shenanigans. The sloppy spraypaint job feels more indicative of something Barry would do quickly to "feel right". Unlikely to be for Bruce, cause if he needed a modified batsuit, he'd do so with more flair and quality.

I don't know what language Maso watched Tatooine Rhapsody in but I watched it in Japanese and thought the band's song was absolutely adorable! It was super cute, it showed a whole different side of Star Wars compared to the other episodes, and I loved the chibi versions of classic characters. That and T0-B1 were definitely my favorites of the bunch

There's going to be a 3rd act fight where Mario gains access to a star power-up, goes on a big action scene that'll be the only good segment of the movie, and at the very end when the power wears off, Luigi goes "Wow Mario, that was amazing! You were like... some kind of *Star-Lord* or something!!" Mario then makes a knowing look towards the camera

I guarantee you the movie will begin with him waking up to an alarm block that he has to hit to snooze then we'll get a suit up scene where he straps his suspenders on doing the little pull em out and let em slap thing. Then he'll walk out through the mushroom Kingdom and as everyone says hi to him we'll get narration from Chris Pratt like "Yeah, I'm something of a local celebrity." We'll also get a flashback at some point where he talks about back when he was "Just some loser who fell down a pipe with his brother," and that's when we'll hear the original Mario voice only for Chris Pratt to do a little shudder sound. Also when Donkey Kong is introduced it'll probably be him like causing some trouble in town and we'll hear Chris Pratt go "ugh, not this guy again."

Funny how in the toy industry it's almost backwards. You know you're creating a character for, say, Mattel, and that's just your job. Seems most of those folks usually keep it to fighting internally about who gets credit. But royalties on a toy IP paid to a creator, that'd be unheard of. Also, I am not advocating that comic creators shouldn't be compensated handsomely for profitable characters, just noting how a very similar industry works on totally different rules.

I thought the first fantastic beasts was eh but the crimes of grindelwanlt was enjoyable in a 'holy shit this is bad' kinda way. It's a rare kind of bad. You don't usually see someone with no experience in writing a screenplay being handed the responsibility of writing a big blockbuster movie. A really interesting failure and I don't recommend paying for it because rowling sucks but if you catch it on tv or something and have interest in movie writing or something it's interesting. I enjoyed it the same way I enjoyed reading 50 shades of grey; a book that was functional as a fanfic but being made into an original work became shit, and was interesting to analyze as a failure for similar reasons. I predict this dumbledore movie will be kinda meh though since they'll be keeping rowling on a leash now. The only way to write this movie would be to force a bot to read a million harry potter fanfictions and make a script based on that it's the only way to fully pay off the confusing shittyness of the second movie

I worked in VFX for Mr Grimble & The Crimes of Gay Hitler, and it was kinda sad to see all the awesome work people did making all those weird animals and settings just kind of get farted away in a movie that had nothing to do with any of them.

If it makes you feel better I did genuinely enjoy the animals and I wish the movie had just... been about the fantastic beasts??? just have it be about newt going on old timey adventures with mysterious creatures??? 'Indiana Jones but he's a wizard zoologist' is an awesome premise but the movies tried very hard to make it into ???? something and it's all on rowling imo, like I said this is a very interesting failure because you can just point to her writing the screenplay being the problem. (and maybe johnny depp I don't think his performance was good and I don't understand his casting anyway, but pretty much everyone else involved in the movie did a good job)

Marcia's (and Kazanjian who also disliked TFA and TLJ) opinion validates those who dislike the sequels. This destroys the shitty narrative that only Lucas loyalists or EU entitled fans and misogynists criticise the sequels, that we've had to listen for years now. No, it doesn't matter where Rey got her powers from (for the story) but it does matter that we know who she is, care and about her motives - and the sequels fail at that for many people, because the creatives/producers didn't understand (or more likely didn't care) how & why the saga worked.

Charles Martinet can do the Mario voice for extended periods of time. There's a video where he goes over the 3DS for over 5 minutes straight. Also is Nintendo just not big in Australia or do the boys here just not like the games that much? I was surprised, flabbergasted even, to hear James call Mario 64 "unplayable" at times. And Maso didn't seem to care much about Nintendo at all. As a Nintendo die-hard I am OUTRAGED and APPALLED. nah not really obviously but i just assumed maso would be more of a nintendo guy considering he always seemed to be more of the "gamer" of the two
