The way I interpret this song is that at the beginning it's hard to tell who's show it is as they were both on the mic. Then it's clear that it's her show and that he's the one chasing her, feeling worried about not being enough for her. It's when she locks her self away that he takes it into his own hands to become the star of the show and that's when he's finally enough for her, as she comes out from being locked away to go to him. However, she's jealous that the band and crowd are satisfied with him over her. You're better than you think, a good heart goes a long way, don't let others suppress your potential.

I find this music video and song inspiring. I like how by the end of the mv, the guy (real lead singer of Weezer) sings his heart out and is later recognized instead of continuing living under the shadows the leading girl in the mv. The lead girl singer obviously had charisma in her video, but she didn't felt genuine. The guy's (real lead singer of Weezer) performance in the mv felt sincere and real. Characters like him should be recognized instead of inconsiderate and vain people that believe fame comes from being mean and above others. Weezer is a great band!
