Thank you so much for this. I just got a rowing machine yesterday and was looking for an explanation just like this so I don't have the wrong posture while using the machine 😊

Yesterday I started, and despite watching other videos, I felt that my arm strength is like 50%, surely as she comments, I'm doing it wrong. On the other hand, I didn't feel like my legs were straining vs if I were on a bike. What % of effort does each part of the body work when rowing based on your experience? very good video! thank you

It takes a bit of practice to really feel like you're utilizing your legs - but doing some drills like the single leg drill or reverse pick drill can help to get you to initiate the stroke with your legs versus your arms. Rowing slower and preparing your body for the catch will help!!

Excellent instructions, new to indoor rowing.back cramping up. Makes it uncomfortable experience..

Try focusing on driving with the legs initially out of the catch so that you're not opening your body into the drive of the stroke. Relax your shoulders and hinge from the hips! Hope that helps!

Do you know how to fix the knees from touch each other inward? Doing a set, my knees would turn inward and almost touch each other every so often when I don’t pay attention to them.

If you're using the concept2, there's some slight movement allowed left to right in the foot stretchers. Try turning your toes out slightly as you recover back up to the catch, like you're twisting your toes out from each other. Not necessarily something you must do all the time, every stroke, but it could help to retrain that movement pattern and allow you some more access to your adductors in the process!
