B 12 is super important for vegans. I didn’t know how important it was 30 years ago when, as a vegan, I got neuropathy in my foot. Lack of B12 can cause nerve disorders.

You said "I have not taken vitamins for years but I will let you know how these work for me" instead of selling out like SO many others on KZbin who have lost their authenticity. So good to know about stimulating circulation in the skin and the tools to use. I didn’t realize it also stimulates collagen. Good to know! Great video. You hair and make up are gorgeous, as always 🥰

yes as for gas, I found out cauliflower was bad for me, I blow up but broccoli was ok. I also had to get allergy tested and found out there was a few items causing me problems and since I stopped what a difference it made!! I realized early I enjoy soups more than salads, so I prep non starchy soups and fill up on that before my starches, so easy! The more you like your food the more ease you will find regardless what is going on around you. Think about what flavors you liked before and incorporate them into your food now. Beans, Brussels, all rice and broccoli/cauliflower give me the most stomach issues. I am a mom of 4 work PT and have been eating this way for almost 100 days. My advice is to keep it super simple and you will be successful in this. It’s extremely easy if you just don’t over think it. Don’t worry about what anyone else is eating or doing and just do you 😍❤️

Melissa, If you’re looking for non-gym workouts that are super fun and energizing, I can’t recommend the KZbin channel Team Body Project enough. They have loads of free videos and they are awesome. I do them 3-4 times a week, mixed in with a few others. Life-changing during covid!

Sometimes eating fruits & veggies together might give you gas because fruit digest at a faster rate than veggies. Give that a try. Really enjoy your videos Melissa & congrats on a year!

This is true. That's why having a fruit smoothie right after you've eaten a big meal might not be the best idea.

I've been vegan six years, still struggling with gas Occasionally. I've found i can't have chickpeas, but other beans are fine. Also can't digest much raw food, so always cook my veggies very well. It makes a difference.

It takes months for your microbiome to change so that you can break down beans and fibres foods. Give yourself time as there our intestines also hold lots of old rotten meat etc from our previous diets and these need to be cleaned out gradually too. I would suggest doing some detoxes for your digestive and intestinal systems as the old rotting food can be giving you gas too. Just a suggestion!!!

I don't currently use a lot of each - but I have had all of them at some point. I don't have a strong opinion on these either way. As far as weight loss, I'd keep an eye on the protein powders because they are usually very high calorie density.

I’ve had terrible and I mean terrible immediate painful stomach bloating and gas from trying to eat a whole food plant based diet. It is so bad that I’m getting ready to make an appointment with a gastroenterologist. I’ve been so worried about what’s wrong with me! But I just came back from a 5 day vacation where I reverted back to a Standard American diet, “burgers, fries, subway...” and I didn’t have not one stomach issue! Anyone experience this?

Maybe increase fruits and veg gradually and give the beans a miss at first and see how your gut responds.

I'm trying to be patient but the gas is so bad I can't even stand myself! Some constipation too. I have noticed if I have a day of eating some things I used to eat the gas seems to be less 😫 but I will try to keep a journal and record the worst offenders. ImTrying to drink more water too

Water Fasting helps with loose skin from videos ive seen,look into fasting maybe with your doctors approval or work with a fasting clinic

I think as long as you’re eating plenty of plants, it doesn’t matter what or when. Fruit is an excellent non-starchy food item.

I personally don't eat veggies for breakfast unless it's a handful of spinach in a smoothie with fruit. As long as the meals are low calorie density, I don't think the time of day is very important.

Great video! I believe some important clarifications are needed for viewers: Fish is meat. Pescetarian diet is not vegan or majority vegan. Plant based and vegan are not interchangeable. So it sounds like his diet is a majority plant based pescetarian. Its great he has removed a majority of meat from his diet on his own. The veggie flatulence struggle is real lol. Remember to be kind to yourself it is all natural and for many people it does go away. 😘 I'm not a professional but maybe consult a dietician that supports plant based diets as they may be more informed what the cause could be.
